thanks mate. i have been trying to find the name of that song for years
i will send you some points
I think El Indio Quinatana is going to upset Paul Williams when they fight in February. It wont be easy because of Williams' height but I think he will be too slick for Williams. Quintana also throws a mean straght left to the body. Should be a good fight, better than most people think. Even if Quintana does lose, I dont think it will be a blow out.
hope you had a bet on it mate. i lost money on pw. u can't win them all
i thought williams won but it was very close. a lot of punches were landing on both boxers gloves. williams would win a rematch easily in my eyes if he boxed more
things are good at the moment. but you have got to think 10 years down the line. THE SPORT ISNT GETTING ENOUGH MAINSTREAM EXPOSURE. this will cause the sport to lose a lot of talent to other more mainstream sports.
the powers that be need to try and make the sport more mainstream.
too early yet. what if hopkins upsets calzaghe? what if dela hoya beats mayweather? miguel cotto has a few grat bouts lined up. Kelly pavlik could be in for it if he has another megabout
i can't see april beating march. this month has been the best for boxing in long time. I don't think there has been a month in boxing so action packed since September 1981
calzaghe hopkins will not be an epic. it could be good at stages. tarver woods could be. woods has been in some epics
clintron-marg has the potential to be a classic. up there with the magnifcence of march 08
cotto wiill be a walk in the park for the rican
fall 1981 had
sanchez v gomez
leonard hearns
ARguello V Mancini
a few more i cant rememebr
I think novemebr october of 82 had a few epics is well. pryor arguello, mancini duk (sad but a classic) and others
Floyd Mayweather happened to it.
I know, i hate to say it, but it's true. He had so much hype surrounding him, people who never watched a bout before decided to. I dont like PFB, but i have to give him credit for helping to bring boxing back to the mainstream attention.
he has only gained when mainstream exposure when he has been fighting other STARS like de la hoya and hatton.
maywaether venture into the WBF will help
I assume his next fight will be against Roy Jones. That will Def. be on ppv. It would probably do well due to Roy Jones. But what about against lets say Kelly Pavlik? Pavlik-Taylor had horrible ppv numbers in the 2nd fight. Outside of Youngstown Ohio and The Uk do the money generating fans know about these guys?
more will know about him after last night. but were they impresed?
Cotto dosent need floyd, floyd is turning into a joke.
i don't agree with the first point. but you are right on the latter. he's done nothing for me to warrant being the best in the world. a win over cotto would end all my doubts
I like Steve bunce he speaks the truth which some brit doesnt want to here, I really hope Enzo and Joe doesnt Underestimate B-Hops power like Billy graham/Hatton and the whole Hatton fanatics did Mayweather.
We need more boxing expert/journo like Bunce who arent there just because of been patriotic.
i like him. he does speak the truth but he also talks a lot of shit. he said the other day that when oscar foughts bhop, oscar was considered the toughest man ever
UFC is appealing to older fans is well. the cards feature 5 or 6 enjoyable fights unlike the shit cards boxing is producing. your lucky to get one half decent fight sometimes. The sport will decline if it does not attract more mainstream interest
Things are great at the moment but I really worry when great fights like vasquez marquez, pac marquez don' get exposure but shite like last night and dlh mayweather attrct the only attention. it really is worrying
I thought Oscar did pretty well against Mayweather last time! It wouldn't be the biggest shock in boxing history if he did reverse a close split decision loss.
Forbes should be respected though!
i agree though I thought he deserved to get the decision. in the rematch he will be older but less ring rusty than he was last time. all this time out could catch up with him against forbes though. if he boxed more often I would favour him to beat anybody around 147/154
