Vera, Campbell or Casamayor. I'm tending to Campbell here because Juan Diaz was a world champion but Casamayor had the fight of the year arguably with Vasquez vs Marquez and Vera vs Lee. What is certain is this is a good solid year for boxing, and also a prof you don't become a champion by being hyped up and being on the magazines, even if you fight 36 year olds, which is reason enough you deserve to lose on it self. I put emphasis on Casamayor and Campbell because I've never seen such old fighters win vs solid young contenders at such light categories.
too early yet. what if hopkins upsets calzaghe? what if dela hoya beats mayweather? miguel cotto has a few grat bouts lined up. Kelly pavlik could be in for it if he has another megabout
What?????
None of them will
especially not vera
Pacqiaou is already pretty much a shoe in
I don't think so, at least not for Ring magazine. It said it that article that the fat dude from Ring mag, Joe Santoloquito (sp?) scored the fight for Marquez.
But with what Manny's already done he will certainly get an honorable mention, at least.

Fighter of the year? Do you mean The Ring Fighter of the Year???
After the mag. was bought by GoldenBoy Pro. it was sure to be DLH.... lol.
Actually it's still very early days. Hell it could even be Vitali Klitschko for all I know.
As of right now Pacman would be the leading candidate because he just beat a top 5 fighter in an exciting fight. Vazquez would also be above who you mentioned. Plus it's still early and everybody named so far will fight again at least once more this year.
Yeah, there's a big chance of Brian Vera being fighter of the year. :lol1:
I didn't say fighter, but fight. Or if i said fighter i was wrong. But yeah, Vera could be in the fight of the year, although he's not as old as the other.
edit: i actually said fighter :S Well, maybe neither of these guys can be that. Casamayor is the greatest of them all but won a very controversial decision so he's off, Vera doesn't seem to box all that much and Campbell isn't big enough a name.

Yeah but hell, how many times you see a 36 year old defeating an undefeated 10 years younger, champion??? How many times have you seen it happen twice!? And yeah i know it's March.
