So, if he is fighting another 5 years, he’ll just wait for Benividas to grow out of the division and then fight him. When did Wilder ever have a chin..... What fight makes you think his chin was elite? He was hurt by Ortiz repeatedly in that first fight. The first fight Wilder fought someone who was willing to bring the fight to him rather than taking it on the chin and cashing a check. Well deserved for Inoue. I think Bud had the best performance of the year but that didn't warrant fighter of the year. Agree. Now that allegedly the rematch clause may be a nonfactor. Hopefully we can see him attempt to get the award this year. Like him or hate him, Crawford in the ring is great for the sport. Even if his opponent is someone that American fans don't approve of or know anything about. I get that the bigger names in the sport warrant much more of a financial burden to those promoting and pushing the event, but I would love for the top guys to be active much more than what most of them do. If Boots' camp is really serious about the Crawford fight, all they can do is contact BLK and see if they can still revive their previous offer. Showtime is gone. Who else is there to make such fight? All they have to do is contact Crawford's camp and express an actual interest instead of just jumping in front of some YouTubers camera to talk about Crawford. Crawford isn't legally bound to any platform so BLK Prime isn't the only ones who can make the fight happen. DAZN is there as well. All of PBC is going to be on Amazon Prime..... Then after Crawford wins the bout, the clause has to be activated within 30 days.....It took Spence 32 days to officially activate the rematch clause..... Then news broke that Showtime was hanging their gloves up on boxing, so now a new platform needs to take over the contract...... Crawford COULD NOT legally negotiate any other fight outside of a Spence fight for this year...... Well deserved.... Only other fighter with an argument for that award this year was Crawford...... I can't help but laugh at everyone arguing Haney to be FOTY over Inoue or Crawford.

Lomachenko and Regis Prograis are two very good wins. Crawford only had one. Inoue had a good one in Fulton and a so-so one in Tapales. Thus the reason I said...."Well Deserved" to start my comment....... But the difference is, Loma and Regis are a couple of very good wins........ Based on name sake....neither were in their prime. Neither are p4p. Both had some suspect performances resulting in losses &/or controversially close results. Loma didn't even have a title. Spence was a GREAT win combined with a great and dominant performance. Top 5 p4p, Undefeated.....Reigning Unified and was the #1/2 fighter in the division. Again, Inoue to most fans who only pay attention to the surface of the sport and not the depths, has the best argument....But there is zero arguments pre or post fight suggesting Fulton to be one of the best in the sport, p4p talent. Good fighter, no doubt and Tapales.....most have to google search his career. Truthfully, the amount of times you've fought should not be the deciding factor on who the "fighter of the year" should be.... Because easily I'd be able to point out the hypocrisy throughout the sport on different accomplishments for other fighters...... Both Tyson Fury & Teofimo won Fighter of the Year with only fighting once in a calendar year.... How was it that Crawford didn't win it over Carl Frampton in 2016 when he fought and won 2 world titles as well as winning a lineal title from the Ring Magazine. Having "one more fight" wasn't a factor then....it all should be based on the accomplishment of the fighter within that year. Hell, Crawford won undisputed....the first in almost 20 years....in 2017 and it was awarded to Loma because the media was trying to push this "No Mas Chenko" movement while Loma was getting in the ring with guys he was much bigger than naturally. Thus the reason Teofimo had zero respect for him and wanted to get in the ring with him so badly. ANYWAY..... Inoue won all 4 titles, as well as the ring magazine (lineal) in his division, this year over good competition.... He deserves FOTY..... But just because Inoue deserves it, doesn't mean that a man who goes out and DOMINATES a fellow p4p undefeated unified champ to become the first Undisputed in 2 divisions doesn't deserve it as well. There’s not a lot of ATG’s around otherwise they wouldn’t be ATG’s. Pac turned down a fight in 09, 10. He never really had an opportunity other than that. Canelo but some would say he wasn’t in his prime at 23. However Floyd was already a complete fighter at 23. That just shows the difference between a great fighter like Canelo and an ATG like Floyd. Complete fighter and prime are 2 different things. Canelo was not at the peak of his ability at the age of 23. And neither was Floyd. Canelo has gotten stronger, smarter, and more efficient since fighting Floyd and even more after the GGG fight. He definitely was not in his prime.

Boxing isn't as mainstream as it used to be so the public pressure isn't enough to make many of the fights. I mean, it literally took 6 years to make the May - Pac fight and they were by far the biggest names in the sport. Unless there's an obscene amount of money to be made, it is too easy to take a path of least resistance or greater prolonged success for moderate pay against lesser opposition. And truthfully, there was no era in which all of the best fighters faced each other for the sake of legacy. This sport has always been a money/marketing game along with illegal ties and dealings. We just heard more about the top fights being advertised more back then where as now, you'll see a bunch of fighters with 4 fights combined facing off before a big fight. Fighters faced comfortable competition until their name was recognize beyond a certain person fan base then they were matched up with a couple ranked fighters in their division until a title shot opportunity manifested. It's just not everyone acts like a single loss is the end of your career so they refuse to even face tough competition even after they have built a name for themselves in the sport and/or even have a title already.

THE WRAPS: -Both fighters have their hands wrapped in the presence of an official, the sanctioning body rep & a member of the opposing camp. -Once they are approved by all parties, the fighter is not allowed to leave sight of the camera with them on otherwise the fighter would have them cut off and re-wrapped with the same protocol in place (for example if the fighter has to use the restroom). -Wraps are always exposed to the air until the gloves are placed on in which another protocol goes into effect. THE GLOVES: -The fighters choose 2 sets of gloves in case of "malfunction" to the first pair put on. They do this 24 hours before the fight. -Those gloves are examined by the commissioner, sanctioning body rep, & a member from the opposing camp before the gloves are taken by the officials and aren't seen again by either fighter's camp until time to put them on. -Once the gloves are brought to the locker room, they are never out of sight of the official rep and camera. Even though you as a view don't always see it on television, that camera is constantly on the gloves. -Fighters are required to take the gloves off if they have to go to the restroom as they can not take the gloves out of sight of the official rep. This protocol is always in place in the most recent years due to issues that occurred in the history of the sport as recently as the early 2010s. These are the facts given.
