I was watrching WWF/WWE, WCW, ECW way before i started watching Boxing or MMA...
Now I still watch wrestling but it becomes more difficult for me to watch it because all the storylines and what not aren't what they use to be and seems they're not trying to put matches together that people will remember. It's just not the way it use to be when Austin was the main guy there... It's getting really bad and something needs to be done
I'm a big fan of MMA and I see it only getting better and better. They put on some great fights and I think they'll keep growing and eventually be sanctioned in all states
i know... I want to see that two but if that winner is mayweather, he's probably just going to sit and say he wants to take 2 years off like he said after his fight with hatton and bring up something about money
i agree, but unless cotto is only going to fight once this year or wait to fight in december, he's probably going to have to fight in between possibly a december matchup and the gomez fiight because if de la hoya and mayweather wanted to, one of those fights would have already been made
I'd either come out to
Possession by Otep or any other song by the band
Down With The Sickness by Disturbed or any other song by the band
Walk by Pantera
Bodies by Drowning Pool
Thats just to name a few
in my opinion, when it comes to boxer's fighting in mma or an mma fighting boxing, in my opinion I personally think an mma fighter would have a better chance at succeeding in boxing then a boxer does in mma.
i'm not saying it's a good chance they would succeed, but I'm just seeing it as this.
yes an mma fighter trains in duifferenrt aspects of his game, wrestling, submission, but they also train in striking while all a boxer does is train is striking.
now I think if i boxer were to come in and be able to succeed i think someone who has the power of tyson or sam peter has the best chance. one punch and it could be over. the gloves boxers wear have more cushons and the gloves that guys in mma wear are just there to protect the hand so your basically getting punch bare knuckle. and one shot by someone with the power of tyson or peter can end it all.
i think it would be a real long shot that either would succeed in the other sport, but I think an MMA fighter will just have a slightly better chance at possibly succeeding.
to your point about the best mma guy taking out the best Boxer in an mma fight. I just dont see Rampage having real good chance against someone like Sam Peter. At that weight level the punching power/technique would be a tremendous attribute for a boxer. The smaller divisions the mma guys would have much more of an advantage.
i believe you would be talking to different weight classes when it comes to peter and rampage when it comes to mma. the weight limit for a light heavyweight is 205 and I don't think Peter weighs less or at 205
is there a release date on this game yet?
i just checked ebword.com and says that they will be shipping the game to thoughts who buy it in advance on april 1st

wrestlemania 6 and wrestlemania 7 all over again
They ad holfield come in to take on matt hardy in a boxing match to Matt Hardy for the storyline with hardy and mvp
they also had butterbean take on bart gunn at wrestlemania 15 (because of bart gunn winning the brawl for all tournament)
and of course they had Mike in the story line as the special enforcer for austin vs. michaels at wrestlemania (which happened ten years ago)
and now ten years after Tyson doing it, they have mayweather and i don't think it will reach the type of climax that it did with Tyson
i don't think this is going to be better than what they did with tyson 10 years ago....
and to think wrestlemania 14 they brought in Tyson and now 10 years later they bring in mayweather for wrestlemania 24
Mike Tyson REFUSED to fight.........wait for it..........................BOB SAPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......................in a real fight.
His little wimpy voice kept on saying "Marques of queensbury.....Marques of queensbury.........boo hooh.......I'th not Thight wike you"
Don't believe me? Look on youtube.
what the hell is I'th not thight wike you?
Clinching is a very manly way of
Yes - because of that special talent they hold - size.
So because they have size because as you say is their "special talent" which is complete BS, that boxing needs to give them more of an advantage. You saying this makes it sound like to me that uou are saying that they heavyweight division should be filled of near 7'0 fighters and have the fighterss like tyson, toney and what not shouldn't be in the division while they would bring the most money unlike most of the champions we have right now holding those belts.
This isn't wrestling, and this isn't UFC and they don't do that much clinching in either.
So heavyweight box i guess you are going to tell me that in a street fight, that Tyson would get his ass whopped by say Valuev just because he's 7'0 tall then.
It is stupid to allow clinching. One it takes away the atmosphere of the fight, that is why John Ruiz is probably the most boring fighter in the heavyweight division probably besides Byrd.
You want to give the bigger man more advantages because of weight and height. Let's see, they have the height, weight and reach advantage so what more do they need. If they allowed this, it would just ruin boxing.
I hate clinching, and I would only think about using clinching if maybe you are going to get knocked down or something in that effect. But to have it for the bigger guys to get the advantage, has me come to the conclusion that they know if they went right at a smaller guy and have to use this, that they know they can't win.
now I haven't voted yet, because I feel that if I vote for Mike, people will think it's just bias, beccause I'm a Tyson fan. So I'm just going to say what I think because I think both are up there.
Now I've read people say in posts that Tyson is overrated because he was in a weak heavyweight division. Well that really isn't his fault, He just happen to become pro at that time and he dominated everyone that was put in front of him at that time. I've also seen posts about when Tyson beat Holmes and Spinks, and how they said that Holmes was too old or Spinks wasn't a real heavyweight. Holmes was in his late 30's when Tyson knocked him out, but who else has knocked him out? Now I know Spinks moved up in weight, but the man beat Larry Holmes twice. Some were still considering Spinks the "the real champion" since he never lost the belt. And we all can't forget that he was the youngest man to ever win a heavyweight belt and was the first man since I believe was Ali to unify the belts.
Now Holyfield. Is one of the greatest cruiserweights ever and moved up in weight and had incredible success. He took on everyone he could and showed great heart. He is also the only 4 time heavyweight champion of the world. he beat Tyson twice, went to war with bowe three times. 4 time heavyweight champion, unified the cruiserweight titles
I personally think they are both up there, because they're both great fighters who will always be remembered in the sport of boxing whether it be good or bad. So right now I can't vote.
i would like to see
Tyson
Foreman
Hearns
Trinidad
Klitchko brtohers
Lewis
Tua
Peter
Cotto
Chavez
Those are just some. And if anyone remembers from the Knockout Kings days, that Wald and Vitali were in those games
While I'm still up in the air with the decision, because I did see close rounds, and thought it would have possibly gone to a draw, but thinking about it, and reading what people said and just thinking about the fight Toney probably should have gotten the win, especially with Peter getting the point deduction and it definitely should have been closer, but I really do think it was close. But let me get to the point at hand.
Toney even at 38 is a great heavyweight who I think will fight again, and hopefully get another shot at the belt. And I have a simple solution....
If Peter beats Oleg, I think Peter should give Toney the first crack at the belt. It was a great fight and I definitely want to see them fight again. Because Toney deserves that, and I think if Peter wants to really prove he definitely is worthy of that belt (if he wins it) give Toney a rematch with that belt on the line.
Tarver beat Roy Jones Jr...knocked him the fuck out. He can fight whoever he wants as far as I'm concerned. Tarver is the face of boxing right now whether you guys want to admit it or not.
the face of boxing is either pretty boy floyd or maybe even jeff lacy in my opinion because i don't think it's tarver.
so tarver wants a big pay day and show people what he is made in the heavyweight division. if he really wanted to, ten he would have taken 60-40 split for the tyson fight, but no, he wants it 50-50. even if he takes the 60-40 split, he will still make more money then he would going up against any other light heavyweight just because he's fighting tyson. i think he just likes to run his mouth an dif it's not tyson that shuts him up, it will be jeff lacy.
i can see it happening. i'm a fan of both what boxing needs is not having fighter''s like ruiz, byrd or the 7 foot whats his name holding those heavyweight belts. i think it will be very hard to now constantly rely on the smaller weight classes to put on a spectacular show.
i think they better pray that tyson gets himself together an cpme in to a fight ready to knock some people out and win those heavyweight titles. because that heavyweight division sucks.
no I'm not. if he said he was thinking of retiring then I can live with that. I wouldn't say anything. He never once said he was going to retire and made excuses that it wouldnt be a good fight and gave up the belts. and hell he wasn't even going to fight vitali and the only reason he fought him isbecause johnson got injured.
Heavyweight: Mike Tyson
Super Middleweight: Jeff Lacy
Jr. Middle: Ricardo Mayorga
Jr. Welter: Miguel Cotto
Lightweight: Diego Corrales
Jr Light: Manny Pacquiao
Others I undecided on.
Jesus, get a grip Stone Cold,
Byrd is now, not then, he wasn't even in the equation back then and Ruiz again was not the biggest name around that time.
The reason they are now tells you what a poor division it is these days!
Its like saying Ali ducked Tyson!!!!
they were the #1 contenders for te wba and ibf belts and Lewis didn't want to fight them. so he ducked them and gave up the belts.
