The main theme of Prizefighter's single-player career mode plays off of King's statement: It's about the choice you have to make between glory and money. Would you rather hit the gym to train for your next fight or work on enhancing your notoriety? The former can help get you a win, but the latter will line your pockets with fatter purses. You'll have to decide what's more important to you. As you progress through the game, your story will be told in a SportsCentury-style documentary, with real video clips from King (see picture, below) and other famous names from the fight scene.
Aside from the standard create-a-fighter option, Prizefighter offers up to 30 active boxers and 10 classic pugilists, including Larry Holmes, Ken Norton and the Cinderella Man, James Braddock. HBO announcers Emmanuel Stewart and Jim Lampley provide the play-by-play. The online play offers the unique twist of allowing players to set up their own gym where they can fight with up to eight of their own created boxers or any of the legendary fighters from the game.
The goal isn't just to create a good fighting game -- it's to create the total package of an immersive story framed around a fight career.
"You can't find a better reality show than boxing, the trials and tribulations a fighter goes through," King said.
King and 2K Sports can only hope that it's that same excitement that transfers to Prizefighter and makes it a worthy contender for EA's Fight Night franchise.

I want simple things done.
I want to be able to shorten the rounds to a minute in career mode. So I can scrape out some decisions wins. I can't be waiting 36 minutes to do that shit everytime. I'll lose my girlfriend and all my friends.
I also like the one punch KO thing, though I can't see how that can be incorporated. Unless you become susceptible to it when your stamina is fucked. I don't think you'd be pleased if you got one punch KTFO in the first round by one of your mates. Shit would lead to arguments.haha
maybe it depend on your balance. thatd be sweet

I want an boxing game where you can use Tyson! But the most important thing would be an realistic good gameplay. I think the fightnight series are pretty good but if you play it often its getting too easy and the CPU opponents are no real challenge. But If you are playing against another person who knows the game as well its great though!!
I hope they port this over to PS3
I think this game is going to need to do very well in terms of sales for 2k to port it over to the PS3. Right now it would be far too much of a financial liability for them to attempt.
lol, a Don King boxing game where you have to overcome corrupt judges. Perfect.
Somehow I can't see Tyson being in a Don King game with all the litigation and what not. Mike Tyson's Punch-Out! will be his only video game appearance ever, apparently.
I already pre-ordered this baby. I have a feeling this is going to sell out when it first comes out where I live since boxing is kind of huge where I live around.
Hope it don't suck.
Just out of curiousity IF I may ask, where do you live that boxing is "huge?"
I think Mayweather HAS To be in the game. They could probably get it for cheap if they promise him a coverspot or something, but they are probably gonna give it to Don Fucking King, which would be a disaster IMO
It's not that I want Don King on the cover...but I can live with it when the rest of the game is right. The average person probally still knows who D.K. is even more than they know Floyd.
The more we can get those gamers to pick this game up and say " what is this?" the better we have a chance of getting people to wonder if this game is any good and try it. Hopefully this will bring more fans to the sport even if in small numbers it would be a start.
I'd perfer it if they gave it to Don because of the cover curse.
2004: Roy gets KTFO
2005: Bernard loses twice and the england cover Ricky Hatton (who goes on to get KTFO)
2007: Oscar De La Hoya loses to Mayweather.
Just sayin.
Then wouldnt you want Mayweather on the cover?
But seriously, that curse is a real push. every fighter loses eventually, and most of those losses are long after the cover was released. So its there, but its not as good as the Madden Curse was

yeah imagine having to look at Don King's face every time you take the game out of the box
That would be great, but let's be realistic and remember that many of these guys ask for too much money and price themselves out these games.
If the the C.A.B. feature is deep enough we can create all these guys. This game might even have profile sharing system like some other 2k sports games have done. Then we can just pass the fighters along to the people that need them.

they better have Cotto, DLH, Mayweather, and Mosley all in the game.

Players can choose from any of the legendary or active champions in Don King Presents: Prizefighter, or use up to 8 of their own customized boxers in this feature.

sounds good but I think some guys should be changed up.. I changed up your roster to show what I mean. also I think they should make catch weights so guys in different divisions can put on sufficient pounds to be able to face a bigger opponent or lose pounds to take on a smaller opponent so if Jones wants to face Pavlik he would actually have to train and become visibly lighter and come in at 166 so there is no size difference, the weights should matter in this game.. they should also have a VERY hard mode, like seriously on some next to impossible shit so that it's always challenging..
they should also have A.I so when you make a fighter they can call him by his name and not no nickname, games actually do that, they should have the create a player parts to make even more superstars and all the tools to add him as a legit opponent, you should also be able to put in a photo for your create a player character so when the screen loads you don't just see some generic fighter.. maybe I'm getting too carried away lolz but to be honest the only Boxing game that will EVER satisfy me is the one I could make and since I can't make games I ain't too thrilled, as is I want more fighters, I don't understand why they are so cheap with the amount of fighters, they should have no trouble making a game with 60 characters and like 15 legends.. I want this game but I know I will never be completely happy with any Boxing game release, I don't even play round 3 no more..
I'd hope the reason theres only 30-40 fighters is cause they've nailed the individual styles of each fighter. lol,or maybe they'll all be right handed and fight like duran.
