LoL, it wasn't really that competetive. Floyd broke him down the entire fight, just like he always does. I like Sharmba but he's not on the same level as Mayweather.
Floyd's handspeed is ridiculous by the way.
People are acting like Soliman is some bum of the street. People don't really know much about him, but he could potentially make this an interesting fight.
Will he beat Winky? Likely not.
Does he have a chance? Damn right he does.
This is a guy who presents an akward style in the ring and has a great fight IQ. He grew up throwing fists and he's as tough as they come, and he's been waiting for his chance for a long time now. That could be a dangerous recipe if Winky isn't on his A game.
And let's be completely honest here. Winky doesn't exaclty strike fear into the minds of his opponents. He's a very mechanical fighter and what you see is what you get. He's not going to surprise anyone who's seen him before. So if Solimon possibly finds something to exploit and Winky doesn't adjust quickly enough, anything could happen.
I don't know, MMA is making a major surge in this country. One thing Pride /UFC has over boxing is that all the best fighters are always going against each other. Boxing is also a sport that you really have to learn to appreciate, whereas MMA is easily accessible to people since there are so many different varieties of fighters and outcomes.
Mormeck's power is overrated, that's all I have to say about that. He's a big, intimidating dude who doesn't hit nearly as hard as you'd expect him too.
Why does Zab pull that shit? There's absolutely no reason to do crap like that. He's also thrown a blatant kidney punch and hit while holding.
This guy is too good of a fighter to resort to stupid petty crap like this.
and ur right it aint Ez to take like wen tzou phuked him in the azz too,,zab couldnt even walk right after that did u see that fight,,,
<<--That fight? Haha
This will be an interesting fight. Take a look at Hopkins style vs. Winky's. Hopkins has a LOT of movement, Winky is mainly stationary. Taylor can match jabs with Winky, and will probably get in easier against Winky and be able to find his range like he couldn't against B-Hop.
Judges also look for who's landing the cleaner and more effective shots. If that were the case, Sam Solomon would be undefeated.
Anyways, you should throw an uppercut once in a while. That guy kept leaning in way too low, and you could have scored big time with that punch. I'm not criticizing you or anything, I thought you kicked that guys ass for sure. He barely even threw anything back at you.
Go to that page that i said.
On the right hand sand click on Hopkins v taylor
then click the pplive link :)
That's what I did but it hasn't popped up yet for some reason.
I found the website to download pplive if you guys are looking still. I don't know if it will work though, and it took me forever to find the english download site.
Yeah I downloaded it, and clicked the link and the fight thing lon the site and I'm waiting now for it to pop up.
Is there any way to get this damn program into English?
Does this only work with XP?
I have Windows 98. When I click "PP LIVE" the screen just shifts and nothing happens. Is this what most of you guys are experiencing?
That's exactly what happened to me, and I'm runnin 98 as well. But I'm downloading a different version so maybe that will fix it...
No doubt he was tired but that’s not what caused him to go down or fall out the ring. He was hurt by Briggs' punches.
I agree, and it doesn't matter anyways. If a fighter cannot intelligently defend himself due to any circumstance, the fight should be stopped regardless of his champion status or the time left in the round. It's not the ref's job to decide how close the fight is or how much time is left. His job is to protect the fighters in between the bells.
I wanted it called after the first knockdown. The ref did a piss-poor job of checking to see that Sergei was coherent. After the next right hand that nearly decapitated him, it should have been stopped again.
But apparently we're so hard up for some drama in the heavyweight division that we're willing to risk a fighter's health for a bit of excitement.
He couldn't dodge any punches at that point, as evidenced by him nearly having his head taken off. He could brealy even stand up at that point, he was just laying on the ropes. Even then, Briggs hit him with a helacious right hand, and the ref still didn't jump in.
I'd rather see a fighter upset at the ref than leaving on a stretcher. I'm glad he appeared somewhat coherent in the post-fight interview.
Well I'm hoping Sergei didn't suffer any serious injury there. That ref had NO BUSINESS letting the fight continue after the first knockdown. Dude could barely stand, and his eyes told a very bad story.
Ref goes "hold you gloves up can you continue?" and doesn't even wait for a decent response. He should have stopped it there, and after Briggs landed another huge right hand. I was adamant here yelling at the TV for the ref to step in.
Lacy looks the exact same as he always has. He throws his jab and then drops his hand and sticks his chin out. I don't get his strategy. If this dude can survive the storm for a couple of rounds I will not be the least bit surprised to see him start taking the fight back to Lacy.
Lacy is getting jacked with straight lefts right down the pipe. I thought for sure after the Calzaghe fight that he'd have worked on his jab and his head movement. I guess you can't correct old habits sometimes.
Tsypko just needs to keep the distance and he's got a solid chance to win this thing, but now he's trying to crowd Lacy and eventually he'll be eating uppercuts if he does that.
