Hey i remember Estrada,he fought Englands Kevin Mitchell not too long ago,i remember Estrada causing him problems and stunning him a couple times
made a bit of a mess of Kevin's face.
He folded pretty quick though, when Kevin got thru.
Jesus that hurt me to watch.
That's what I thought.
That is when you know it was good punch.
Gross getting up from that shot could be the highlight of his boxing career. lol
wut does that say about mr amir khan ???? mab by tko!
I think so.
But Khan is a lot better of a fighter than Prescott for sure.
I think a lot of guys will be calling Prescott out after that.
On the moon...because this fight isn't happening. We've heard of "rumors" and "deadlines" before.
It's happening.
David Haye is everywhere at the moment on British TV, you can't go a day without seeing his mug. He mentions Wladimir everytime.
Hayemaker have been very transparent this time.
Unless they have Amir Khan fighting Mayweather on the undercard they can't sell out Wembley.
I actually thought this was feasible at one point. But David Haye's relentless media-whoring has made me change my mind. I can't remember the last time that man wasn't on a celebrity based game or chat show. He's putting him name out there aggressively because he knows he needs more potential PPV value to meet his expectations of a Klit fight.
Locche and for the rather basic reason it looks cooler.
I'm not even saying it's superior technically it can't be.
I used to love it when Naz made guys miss trading of pure reactions it must be so satisfying. Locche could do it all the time. Amazing sense of distance.
I bet Locche could've parked a car in under 2-seconds.
Yeah, I want him to.
It was a humiliating defeat. He does have something to gain from a Prescott fight - revenge.
It would need a good undercard for me to buy it though - because I believe Prescott will be hugely out-of-his-depth this time around.
Maidana is the most dangerous fighter to be beaten on that list.
That said Khan outclassed Kotelnik who is great technician in his own right. Although, Khan was just a horrible style-match up for Kotelnik.
A mere Con is a cowardly fraud no more, and no less.
Are you part of Team Prescott?
On topic, I agree. Khan should fight him. Breidis destroyed him. But I dunno, it just seemed like a golden 30-seconds for Breidis - that short left-hook was beautiful, but it came from nowhere.
Introducing Prescott
Philly shell is something you do when you're completely on the defensive. 70% of your defense is the stance, and 28% is your movement, the rest is based on the way you cover up (which really doesn't happen often, this is the the Fight Night video games). A basic stance that preps for Philly shell normally has the front hand low and at the waist and the back hand near the chin. To execute an offense from that position is hard and requires speed to be successful. Try to find a successful fighter who fights with his hands low and doesn't have good speed.
The Philly shell should only be used by fighters who have the physical attributes to use it.
Carlos Frochos?
But he isn't nearly as slow as people make out. Abraham made him look like greased lightning.
If Khan progresses I think he will definitely fight Mayweather in the summer of 2012. Mayweather wants to fight once in England before he retires and I can see that fight being made.
If Khan unifies 140 and has one or two good wins at 147 then he will be in with a shout of beating Mayweather in 2012.
I've never believed this. He'll be too worried about losing that 'O' especially at that point in his career. I believe Khan could take rounds of Mayweather.
If anyone can become the undisputed King of 140 they deserve Floyd - be it Khan or Bradley or Alexander.
i'm an amateur fighter. the mental side aspect is the most important in boxing.
i see it as three aspects - technical (skills and talent which you are taught), physical (your strength, stamina, power, speed, fitness, speed etc which you improve with training), and the mental (your bravery, concentration, aggression, determination, motivation, calm under pressure etc. which has to come from inside yourself).
if you have all 3 together at once, you are golden. however, if you have only one, you always need the mental aspect to succeed, so i'd choose that over the other two every time.
a fighter who is fully focused mentally, but technically inferior to his opponent, beats a fighter who is talented and skilful but not mentally focused every time.
without mental strength, you cannot succeed in boxing.
Good post.
I always wondered if innate boxing skill could kind of overrun self-doubt. But, I guess the evidence points to say it can't.
not at the expense of fighting someone relavent instead, but Khan has not many options left for April unless he actually wants to pay a half decent amount, so he may as well ask for a Prescott fight if the McCloskey fight does indeed fall through.
But dont be surprised when that fight doesnt happen either. Unlike Peterson and McClsokey Prescott isnt getting any kind of even half decent payday anywhere else, he's gonna be looking to set himself up with this fight. Im guessing he wont do it for cheap like most are guessing.
I agree with this.
Those fighters are in a better position to earn future paydays because they are both better fighters than Prescott.
I think you are right about him being worried about losing his '0'. But, if Mayweather is true to his word that he wants to fight in England before he retires, really Khan is the only fight which would make that happen.
I'd love to see it.
I wouldn't mind him coming over here and smashing up an overmatched opponent like Matthew Hatton either to be honest.
