not at the expense of fighting someone relavent instead, but Khan has not many options left for April unless he actually wants to pay a half decent amount, so he may as well ask for a Prescott fight if the McCloskey fight does indeed fall through.
But dont be surprised when that fight doesnt happen either. Unlike Peterson and McClsokey Prescott isnt getting any kind of even half decent payday anywhere else, he's gonna be looking to set himself up with this fight. I'm guessing he wont do it for cheap like most are guessing.
I agree with this post. If Khan has a steady stream of fights against Top 10 opposition, then I don't see the need to disrupt that.
But while on the hunt for an opponent in April? Sure, why not.
The only part I slightly disagree on is the amount it might cost to get Prescott in the ring. No doubt he'll be looking for a career-high payday. But whereas others might not want to hear that they're making, say $200k to fight Khan, I can see Prescott booking the first flight to England for half that amount, which I'd have to imagine would be a career high payday (and tons more than the ESPN2 level in which he's barely at these days)
I'm gonna say yes. Since fighters are saying Khan is low balling them then what better fight to make then with Prescott who we know won't ask for much. I don't think they will make this fight though, for a couple reasons.
1. There is always that chance of Prescott catching Khan clean again and there goes the money fight of Khan with Bradley vs Alexander winner. I mean if slow Maidana can catch him there isn't much doubt that a long armed Prescott will catch him again.
2. If they don't fight Prescott and lose then Khan and his fans can continue to use the excuse that Khan lost cause he had trouble making the weight and was dehydrated.
Yes Yes Yes!
When you get knocked out in a close fight thats one thing .(trinidad/vargas)
But to be blown out in like 30 seconds is another. I can't take this guy seriously until he cleans up that mess.
I would pick Khan to win, but there will always be that doubt in his own head and that could cause Prescott to catch him again late this time as I'm sure no matter how much he is getting dominated Prescott will have the confidence that he could change it with just a few clean blows.
Khan needs to take this fight at some point, I think it would be better to do after a fight with the winner of Bradley/Alexander.
Look, I know as does everyone else khan will wipe the floor with prescott this time around
I voted yes because this is a perfect keep busy fight and all the other top guys are busy
doesn't matter really.
if he wants to , fine.
if he doesn't , fine as well.
it's one thing when you lose to another top fighter and you have to rematch him to prove you're better.
but in this case , prescott is a nobody and not a ranked fighter.
yeah he beat khan but khan can prove more by fighting other top fighters than some c-level fighter who has a win over him.
i mean does it matter that pacquiao never fought torrecampo in a rematch?
or wlad with ross puritty? or hopkins whoever he lost to in his 1st fight?
I agree. No point, really. Good fighters lose to guys sometimes that make you look back and wonder what the hell happened, Prescott was that loss for Khan. It's pretty obvious who the better fighter is.
It really isn't necessary, but as a fighter,I personally would want to avenge that loss, especially if I know I could beat him.
I constantly hear about other fighters needing to avenge close fights,so what's good enough for a close fight should be good enough for a less than 1 round starching.
I would also like for the Punisher to push for a rematch with Martinez.I couldn't care less if he won,but he has pride & that's the proud thing to do.

I agree with this.
Those fighters are in a better position to earn future paydays because they are both better fighters than Prescott.
If it stops these friggin threads popping up now and again then yes.
ehhhh..... people will never shut up about prescott.
hell i still bring up ross puritty when wlad owns or tunney gets on my nerves. :D

Yeah, I want him to.
It was a humiliating defeat. He does have something to gain from a Prescott fight - revenge.
It would need a good undercard for me to buy it though - because I believe Prescott will be hugely out-of-his-depth this time around.
