@Dave Rado... Khan cannot fight Maidana in July like he wants. Maidana is sidelined due to an injury, so he wants to fight somebody else first. Can't blame him for wanting to make a living...
That british bum doesn't want to see his brother get KTFO up close and personal. Brits = bums
I betcha this so called 'British bum' could kick the sh*t out of your ignorant a$$! Go back to the Rab(bit) hole you crawled out from....
lol, is that the best you've got ? Dear me, I'd wager a 'drunk' Ricky Hatton could string a more insightful and coherent sentence together than you just mustered, you tedious, predictable scrote.
I second that! :boxing:
......the most over rated heavy weight in history. Riddick Bowe would have destroyed the Ole Jamaican Canadian Brit. Destroyed him as would have a prime Holyfield. Actually Holyfield's fight s with Bowe showed you how bad he would have beat Lewis. Tyson in his prime and so on. Lewis was a puss.
Bowe had a fragile psyche. Ray Mercer (his teammate in the Olympics) talked about it often, saying Bowe was scared of losing and even asked Ray Mercer if he ever thought about losing when they were in the Olympics. So when Bowe went out and froze up against Lewis, Mercer stated he saw the writing on the wall beforehand and Bowe never fully got it back. Bowe only fought Holyfield because he saw it as "I am a big man that can beat the little man!" But he threw the WBC belt in the trash to avoid Lennox Lewis and never fought him because he was afraid of losing. In 1993, I thought Bowe would have beat Lewis. By 1996, I knew Lennox would demolish Bowe and that's why Bowe avoided both Lewis and Tyson (Bowe used to cross the street as a kid when Tyson was coming his way). He was tough when he had confidence against Holyfield but he had a fragile psyche which all started in the Olympic Gold Medal match and he never fully recovered...
Ruiz is slower than dirt, I hope Haye demolishes him early but I doubt that will happen. Once Ruiz tastes his power, h will grapple, clutch and grab and make for an ugly fight...
Both Khan and Maidana deserve props for the fight they put on. That was some brutal a$$ sh*t right there! Roach states that Khan has balls and he is right, however Roach looked mighty worried when Maidana treated Khan like a rag doll in that tenth round. The fact that Roach said he almost considered stopping it says one thing! He cares about his fighters. I imagine if the fight was nip and tuck and then that happened, Roach would have stopped it. The fact that Khan took a huge early lead was I think part of the he reasoning for letting it go. I think the other part was to see how much heart and will Khan had. Say what you want but Khan has heart. I am not a fan of his braggart attitude but one thing is for sure, I will watch his fights...
Everyone's been talking about Pac's big head and steroids for 5 years now. Even on this forum we used to have 'Pac's head then Pac's head now' posts. Floyd Sr just brought it into a limelight.
This is so untrue. NOBODY mentioned it till the babbling idiot crackhead pulled it out his big fat a$$! Being a former druggie and drug dealer does not make him an expert on drugs. It just makes him a dumb a$$, plain and simple. He says in the recent article he would never let his son fight Pacquaio. There is a simple reason for that and not the BS ones he has given. It's that Pacman would put some hurt on that boy and "give him an old fashioned whippin', just like they used to give in Georgia (thank you Don King for the Georgia quote)"...
Soir sounds like a fags name but anyway Gaye will not fight them, that has been clear:lame: for about a year now, she is chicken.
I understand your skepticism however I think Haye will fight Wladimir now! He felt he was out-negotiated for the first go around and figured if he had a belt, then he might have some leverage. It worked because he is now willing to accept a 50-50 purse split. I am hopeful the fight does happen and I think Wladimir will most likely win. David Haye will have to take some chances if he wants to catch Wlad's chin clean and in trying to do that, he will have to be able to eat some heavy leather. This is the best heavyweight fight out there and if Haye somehow finds 'another' way to b*tch out, it will diminish his history standing. History will be kinder to Haye if he fights and loses then avoids fighting a Klit bro altogether...
Good Post man! I don't know for sure until everything is revealed but
it is quite weird that Manny took shots from big punchers like Cotto,
and bigger guys like Margarito but before Marquez was knocking Pac's
head back.
PS
Just for reference next time around. Make sure it is more
convenient to read.
Manny is a much more complete fighter now! Is it so outrageous to think that a fighter has gotten better with age. Look how much better JMM is now than he was 5 years ago when he lost to Chris John? I also didn't see JMM hurt Pacquaio at any point or where he was in danger of going down. So, JMM landed a few awesome jabs and snapped Pacquaio's head back! So what! Clottey had a good jab and did so himself. And if look back at both the Cotto and Margarito fights, Pac was hardly ever hit cleanly in the face. He's got better movement now than he had in 2004....
Anything is possible but highly unlikely that he was always (from day 1) taking PEDs, if that is what you meant. Even those accusing think it started only when Ariza came into the picture. Also, many are saying he is doing things NOW that he wasn't able to do in the lighter weight divisions. Just read some of the posts in this thread.
What people who say this don't realize is that Manny had a high percentage of KO/TKOs before Ariza came in to the picture, as well .... YET that is what they base it on ... Ariza!
These people seem to think it's impossible for a fighter to get a great trainer and change from a free swinging one dimensional brawler into a complete package and get better. So, anybody who get's better and/or moves up in weight is on drugs in their minds. Even Mayweather moved up from 130 lbs to 154 lbs and dominated and he got better with age so that should come into question too, right? According to the Mayweathers, unless your name is Floyd Jr, you will need illegal help to get better. It's almost like they are saying "How dare you say anyone could be as good as lil' Floyd!" :ugh1:
lord have mercy..give it a rest
I agree. Khan speaks about something said months ago and then every conspiracy theorist comes out of the closet with their two cents on Pacquiao. The facts are this! Nobody (Floyd Jr, Floyd Sr, Roger, ODLH, Schaefer, etc) has any shred of proof of anything (not even a lint balls worth), it is all specualtion, period. Often I speculate that 9/11 was a huge conspiracy theory and was covered up and the American public flat out lied to but I keep my mouth shut because until I have proof, I have nothing. Everyone else should do the same...
There is no way Vitali is better than Lennox Lewis! I am not a huge Lennox Lewis fan or anything but Lewis blasted out a prime Briggs. The prime Briggs that charged Lennox at the beginning of their fight might have taken Vitali out. Everyone knows the Klits get that 'freaked' look when they get hit and Lewis was rocked bigtime in that fight. But as soon as Briggs slowed down, Lewis steadied himself and KHTFO. The Briggs that Vitali fought was a large, out of breath, over the hill punching bag. It was nice for Briggs to be gracious in defeat but I have a tough time believing either Klits was better than Lewis. Even taking into account that Vitali was winning his fight with Lewis when the fight was stopped due to cuts, however Lewis's punches produced the cuts and Vitali was in for a beat down if they would have let that fight continue because he couldn't see...
He did duck dum dum. the whole world thought Klits won that night.
At the time, I was mad at Lennox for not taking the rematch with Vitali. But looking back now, Lewis was way past his prime and had promised his mother he wouldn't fight again. And I don't believe the whole world thought Vitali 'won' that night. Sure, he was winning 4 rounds to 2 rounds at the time of the stoppage however Lewis's fists opened the cuts, not a headbutt. So, to say the whole world thought Vitali won the fight is kinda ridiculous, however I do believe Vitali was ahead. And, if the fight would have went on, Vitali would have taken a beating because he couldn't see....
Did I read this correctly? Did David Haye say the Klits are playing hardball requesting a 50-50 split? WTF? Haye should feel lucky to be getting half of the pie. Becoming the best cruiserweight and then beating Valuev (barely), Ruiz and (most likely) Fraudley Harrison doesn't give you the right to demand a bigger piece of the pie. Without the Klits, you won't make that kind of money fighting somebody else. It's like with Pacquiao vs. Mayweather, neither guy can generate the money that fight would generate against anyone else, so take the 50-50 split to prove you are the best. I can understand why some fighters feel they deserve the bigger percentage but not David Haye's, he doesn't have a leg to stand on with his argument....
@Rbgnwo - no, Floyd Jr. is not kidding, and this from the self imposed G.O.A.T. You can't be the best when you find ways to not fight the best, especially with your biggest payday looming (the biggest payday in boxing history at that)....
@Sugar Q: I believe Floyd has to pay his corner and people himself. The bottom line is he can't afford to pay that kind of money, he is still in debt. Manny has all the money he needs and then some, Floyd blew all his...
sturm and martinez should be fighting but they never will because each has a pretty good racket going on right now fighting no hopers. at least sturm is fighting somebody in the top 10 except macklin should have lost his last fight to an unknown so his top ten ranking is not really deserved.
You sound pretty biased against Martinez. He fought a string of really good fighters (including the lineal middleweight champ) and then fought one of the best 154 lbers, who was undefeated with sound boxing skills. If you want to call him a no-hoper, then fine although I don't agree with it. If Martinez fights Manfredo, then I agree he is pretty much a no hoper however Manfredo is a natural super middleweight so he will be testing himself against a bigger man. But to compare Martinez's last five opponents to Sturm's and claim they are both fighting the same quality no-hopers (as you implied) doesn't add up...
The only way Pirog is going to make a name for himself is fighting, winning and then calling out Martinez. Everybody and their uncle calls out the best fighters when they are winning and/or undefeated, so if I were Pirog, I would call out Martinez after ever fight. Once a fighter starts calling someone out over and over, at some point, people are going to start to listen. It sounds like Team Martinez is just bitter about the title being stripped and refuse to give him a chance. But then, at the same time, then why do they keep calling out the winner between Chavez Jr vs. Zbik? I am not saying Pirog deserves a chance just yet, just saying he has the right to call out whomever he pleases...
If it's on PPV, I won't buy it! HBO keeps showing these guys fighting minor names and must be making some kind of money. $1.5 million a piece shouldn't be hard for HBO to pay, considering Berto was getting that kind of money for no names. These are the two best guys in the division (along with Chris John). I think if HBO paired them on a NY or NJ card with good competition and then had them fight in Puerto Rico, those would be huge fights gate wise. I think if HBO doesn't want to pay them, maybe Showtime who does many lower weight fights could do it. I don't know but personally, I don't buy it Bob...
:nono::nono:.....his one punch power gives him about a 25% chance.....Manny's wack defense gives him ANOTHER 10-15 %.....so we looking at maybe a 30-40% chance :lol1:.....seriously, Shane DOES have a chance in this fight
I think Manny may have better defense than you give him credit for. He has good head movement and good footwork when he wants to use it. The thing is I think Manny is one of those guys that likes to get hit early to see what an opponent has. If you look at every fight after Hatton, Manny uses for the first two or three rounds to get a feel for his opponent, how hard he hits, their timing, etc. After that, you rarely see him get hit unless he wants to, like when he laid on the ropes on purpose at times against Margarito...
And just a funny note, my father, after watching the Margarito vs. Pacquaio fight had this to say when Manny said he was hurt in the 6th round and was surprised to make it through: "Naw, no way! He is just saying that to try and lure Floyd Jr. to fight him! If he lets EVERYONE know he was supposed 'hurt', that could lure Floyd Jr. in thinking he can hurt him too!" I am not sure if I agree with that however it does make me think...
It looks to me like ODLH just wants to trump Bob Arum by taking away the Donaire vs. Moreno fight. I never saw anyone from GBP say anything about Moreno until Donaire was in talks to fight him. Now GBP wants him? If that's the case, GBP can have him and Donaire will move on to the winner of Mares vs. Agbeko and Moreno will get stuck fighting guys who aren't the best in the division. I don't like GBP or Arum but at this point, it seems Arum has all the right guys and now that Rios destroyed Acosta after losing the first four rounds and being rocked himself, he seemingly holds all the cards. If he gets JMM to sign with him next, he will be in major control...
You make some valid points, and as I said I don't think Pacquiao is on any kind of PED's but you have to agree his team, MP promotions has done a horrible job with this issue. I mean really why request a 30 day cut off to begin with?? Then of course the whole 24/7 thing with Hatton came out where he was giving blood 24 days before the fight, so MP's people changed the cut off day to 24 days.
I know Pacquiao is a fighter and might not be the brightest guy in his team, but surely someone in his team, should have told him that by giving these so called cut off dates, only adds suspicion, instead of removing it.
Yes, it does create doubt and suspicion but apparently they didn't have any cutoff dates for the second round of negotiations that supposedly happened for a possible fight in November. However, I feel the whole thing was handled improperly if you asked me. We shouldn't even have been privy to that kind of info until the fight was signed or not signed, however it was leaked early in the negotiations. Neither fighter wants to be dictated to and it's mostly egos that kept the fight from happening. NOTHING about the second round of negotiations should have been leaked to the media, which created these kind of internet firestorms which you know the fighters and the teams read. Once that happens, they try to use that knowledge and gain leverage and the whole thing goes to pot...
The thing is, until Mayweather is ready to fight, or more specifically, ready to fight Pacquiao, this kind of stuff will be like the Energizer Bunny and keep going and going. We can go round and round until cows fly and nothing will change. I don't believe Pac is on anything and has done nothing to make me believe he is and where I come from (USA), you are innocent until proven guilty. But I do understand the other side of the coin as well...
LMAO you see norm's like yourself are still on the ROID tid bit when what I wrote clearly stated that Pac is NOT on roids. HGH is most likely what he is on, all the positives of roids and none of the negatives. EPO was what Shane was on, did Shane diplay any of the characteristics at that time? Further more BOXING officials were not the ones who discovered Shane used EPO, it was the federal Balco investigation that discovered it. Shane never tested positive either. Official boxing testing, tests for drugs, alcohol and the simplest form of steroids. Boxing does not test for PED's, EPO, more sophisticated steroids that exist now, blood doping or HGH. In fact they go as far as to call the fighter before arriving. LMAO. Traces of any of the substances I just listed can be hidden in 10 minutes.
You hear that? Thats me blowing holes all through your logic.
If it can be hidden in 10 minutes like you say, what is the point of the tests. When random testing occurs, they don't show up and go give me blood. You are given a time and place to meet, so that leaves plenty of time for anyone to get anything out of there system. That's me blowing holes through your logic....
The highest ranking Martinez has ever had in any of the credible P4P rankings was #3. And Donaire was ranked #5 before he fought Montiel.
Montiel and Darchinyan both have better resumes than Pavlik or Williams. It's hard to see how anyone can justify Martinez above Donaire at this point. And Mayweather has effectively retired again, at least for the time being, maybe forever, no one knows, but he is certainly not an active fighter, so it's hard to even justify his #3 slot, never mind #1.
After one year of inactivity due to anything other than a boxing related injury, a fighter will be removed from the P4P list. So, unless Floyd Jr settles his legal battles and signs to fight someone before May 1st, you can expect him to disappear from the P4P rankings. That's just the way it goes. And, as it sits, I don't have a big problem with this list except I think Mayweather should be #2, Sergio Martinez #3 and Nonito Donaire #4. Now if Nonito beats Moreno, Mares vs. Agbeko winner and/or WV2 in impressive fashion (which I think he can beat all of them), then I think he will move up, especially if Floyd Jr gets taken out due to inactivity and also if Sergio starts to taper off somewhat (he is getting up there in age)...
agreed...and if maidana and alexander get it on then given the outcomes between maidana/khan and bradley/alexander then either rematch or maidana/bradley or khan/alexander would be worth a look afterwards.
basically there is a bit more mileage in these 4 beyond the 'final' if HBO want it and it's gonna take a decent effort for someone else to break into that quartet (or one or more of them move up to 147 which we'd expect from khan and possibly bradley)
I would love to see both Bradley vs. Khan and Alexander vs. Maidana but if Alexander is smart, he steers clear of Maidana. If Khan couldn't deter Maidana from coming forward even after hurting him badly and dropping him in the first round, Alexander has no chance. Except for a few exchanges, Alexander refused to put any mustard on his punches and the way he fights (backing up and flicking jabs) plays right into Maidana's hands. Khan is a much more polished and skilled fighter (and has more heart than Alexander) and if Maidana could still catch Khan, he would definitely catch Alexander and most likely knock him out. I would love to see the fight but Alexander needs some more seasoning and some confidence building fights before feeding him to Maidana. Actually, the best fight of the bunch would be Bradley vs. Maidana but I think we will see Bradley vs. Khan first...
Isn't this the same guy that was in negotiations for a Pacquaio vs. Mayweather fight? Let's hope these fighters are willing to fight since they both are the best opponents for one another at 140....
Damn it! I want Gamboa vs. Lopez. Screw the Marquez rematch.
I love Rafael Marquez however this looks to be a cash-in fight for Juanma. If Marquez was still in his prime (pre-Vazquez wars) then the first fight would have been much more competitive. However, Juanma is just too young and too big for me to feel Rafael has a chance. And I agree with you, just give us Gamboa vs. Lopez already. That has must-see TV written all over it. Let's just hope it's on HBO or Showtime, it's still not a huge fight and worthy of PPV...
Broner is a fuking clown who got a gift, I'm looking foward to see his arrogant ass get KTFO.
I couldn't have said it better myself. Boner (yes, I spelled that correctly) is an arrogant pr*ck and I can't wait for a guy like Juanma or Gamboa to beat the living sh*t out of him and spank him like a b*tch...
