Kovalev and Golovkin are fighting on their backfoot and move laterally, but only for few moments until they resume attacking -- usually by shifting (which clearly confuses their opponents).
Here we go again... It's called plain old movement. "Shifting" is not a thing!
So which fighters that are considered legends or will be considered legends after they retire have the worst resumes?
One I could think of is Vitali Klitschko. Of course some will say he's not an ATG, but he will definitely go down as one in general. And as much as I love Mike Tyson, his resume isn't the greatest either.
Surely an oxymoron?
This
I thought there's no way how anybody can beat Ward, But even robotic Kovalev was competitive and I was thinking Ward will school "the bum" in an one-sided fight.
He can't dodge the shots as effective as before, maybe because of the age or maybe because of the weight, it doesn't matter
And Stevenson is on Kovalev's level, he's just not that active
Are you really from Khabarovsk, Russia? Sounds suspicious. Did Kovalev upset you personally?:bottle:
Hating on a fighter from your own country worse than some american fans hating on ward. Amazing! :lol1::lol1:
Fans like you are a cancer.
I am from the USA and I was rooting for Kovalev.
I am not a nationalistic phaggot. I expose myself and appreciate fighters from all over the world. Heart, skill, technique, and personality draw me to a fighter, not race, creed, religion, or flag.
I'm confused. Is this addressed to me?
I was just wondering why every post of that guy, who is supposedly from Russia, are in some way to degrade and devalue Kovalev with names like "robotic bum". Literally every single post he calls him something derogatory. Seems really odd to get so upset and personal with a fighter especially for someone from the same country. Likewise for American fans about Ward.
Calling me cancer is a bit much, no?
Yes it's addressed to you and no, i'd say it's just about right.
What you're implying is obvious and pathetic.
Oh my god you're actually really upset by that. Wow. I'll leave you be then.
Because Kov was happy to take short money through his career to get to this stage where is golovkin thought he was a super star 3 years ago. Honestly I blame Sanchez for this, he was chatting breeze for so long ggg bought his own hype before doing anything. It's pathetic.
Probably just bants off camera. He is confident so I'm sure he thinks he is capable of beating most HW's. Having said that, AJ is clearly focused and knows he has to stay away from believing his own hype too much.
My guess is that he feels the other organisation is better. And it's not like it's really better, they probably just take 2-3 times more samples than VADA does. So that's why they are that much more expensive, $35K versus $8k. It's a tendency to psychologically feel that something that is much more expensive is better by default too, because it usually is.
I think Pascal should just go ahead and pay VADA to do Kovalev's test though. It's better than nothing, and next time just have it all ironed out in detail on contracts beforehand.
I wonder whether corruption is rife in testing agencies. It's very peculiar that a fighter would only go through his local "tried and tested" agency (pun intended).
I think that's true.
Sanchez had both guys in his camp and said a number of times in the past that Golovkin worked him over, said Kovalev showed too much respect or a little fear so he stopped putting him in with Golovkin. Others have said the same.
There is an interview with Kovalev in Russian where he said that at the time when he sparred GGG he was just beginning his own camp so was still not in shape and therefore was taking it easy with GGG (also they are good friends so I can't imagine he would spar with him 100% at any point). Golovkin had a fight in a couple of weeks so this wasn't the type of sparring that Sanchez wanted for him so close to the fight and hence took Kovalev out. Nothing to do with "showing too much respect".
Sanchez is like the tabloids - twisting and spinning the facts for his own agenda.
It's less like Ward fights as Haymon and Roc are on non-speaking terms. If kov wins then this fight will be big enough for hbo and showtime to work together
This guy is definition of DKSAB. Have you ever laced up a glove bruh?
And o-m-g if someone mentions the "lost art of shifting" again I will lose my sh*t
Thank you! They talk about it like it's an actual thing! Wtf are you actually shifting - shape shifting? Absolute gibberish
Sergey Kovalev = Undefeated , 26/23 by way of Knock Out , 50% KO's by way of body shots and one KO by way of a pine box and no ones suspicious but me !
I've seen you post this several times now. I advise you to stop making up stats - all this is easily verifiable and makes look like an ignorant fanatic.
The actual percentage is 4.3%. His only actual body shot stoppage is Agnew, Caparallo had a knock down scored via a body shot but a final TKO via head shots.
He was a head hunter up until JDJ joined his corner, that was after the Simakov death. The fights since JDJ were:
Boone II - TKO Head Shots
Lonnie B - TKO Head Shots
Campillo - TKO Head Shots
White - TKO Head Shots
Cleverly - TKO Head Shots
Sillakh - KO Head Shots
Agnew - TKO Body Shots
Caparrello - TKO Head Shots
Hopkins - UD 12Rds
Hopefully you will now wind your neck in and pipe down about this ridiculous stat that you plucked out of the air. You sound like an absolute baby.
since when? Comparing a fighter thats 2 weight divisions up is silly but he is not that amazing of a boxer, beating Bernard doesn't change that. Lets not forget he has gotten a draw once in his career, and knocked down a lot. If Golovkin and kovalev were in the same weight division you and I both know you would pick GGG, that fact that you have to say"I think" instead of "i know" Kovalev would beat GGG at 175 shows you just how good GGG is.
And no Macklin and Geale are not D fighters, they are good B fighters that he made look like D fighters. Just because he knocked them out so easily doesn't mean jack.
That was a Technical Draw due to accidental foul in round 2 and Grover Young was unable to continue. It was BS as well, the fight is on YouTube - Young was getting battered and wanted a way out. With regards to KD's, Kovalev had 2 - not "a lot". One against a guy who KO'd Stevenson and another a flash KD result of his foot being stepped on.
Stop chatting breeze, Kovalev dominates GGG any day of the week in any hypothetical weight division.
