To a extent yes. Like people have said he was only 16 years of age. The likes of Mayweather, De La Hoya etc weighed similar weights at that age........
But I think it was just because Manny was a Pro fighter........
Winky was coming off a huge hiatus and stood right in front of Williams. I am pretty sure Sergio can make the fight look more like the Quintana fight than the Wright fight.
But which Quintana fight? 1 or 2? :boxing:
Also funny how this Cuban would go on to defeat current WBC 147 champion Berto by 10 points, and elimante current top 154 contender Vanes Martirosyan in the 2004 Olympic Games.
I always give the mongolian warrior a shout out, along with david the destroyer lopez the most avoided man in boxing, to good for his own good that was choi's problem, very sad he never got his world title shot that was long over due
Good To Hear, I just hope he gets a world title fight before he is to old. It makes me laugh when I hear Paul Williams being called the most avoided man in boxing today, when he has a HBO deal, and always get big fights and world title fights.
Choi is what you call avoided! Frank Warren had the chance to promote him, but said he didnt want to because he wasn't markatable enough. That man is a snake and a ****ing fraud.
How are we ment to take Camacho Jr's career serious when he is fighting a washed washed washed up Campus, and calling out a 20 stone washed up Fernando Vargas who is retired?
Are them fights his career ambitions? He should be fighting young hungry 160 fighters, not wanting and calling out has beens!
Dudes a joke!
thats sum bs man
i live in the netherlands and nobody over here knows the klitschkos, id be suprised if anybody over here knows any currently active boxers
got a couple of friends from poland too and they dont know them either
aside from germans, british and maybe the danish most western european people dont care about boxing
its all about kickboxing around here so vitali's initial decision to become a kickboxer is hardly suprising
Why is no one interested in Boxing in the Netherlands? They never have many good boxers.
But they always seems to produce great Kickboxers.....
Interesting...
In England, nobody knows who the champions even are
Is that why UK's most veiwed and famous sports channel, Sky Sports showed Chagev vs Wlad live in the UK?
Cintrón isn´t the same after his plastering. Martínez and Cotto survived the plaster-experience... but Cintrón?
He´s still shook.
I go Manny.
His last two performances, have been pretty impressive. Especailly the one against Angulo, were he boxed the ears off him.
mack beats the dog shit out of him, diaconu too. havent seen enough of campillo to have an opinion.. but dawson, hopkins, johnson, cloud, pascal, tarver, george the two already mentioned and maybe even daniel judah all beat the living hell out of RJ. im a fan of his, but thats just the way it is.
WTF, Daniel Judah? Would would destroy him!
We've seen very little of Robinson in his prime, as a welter weight.
Difficult to say. Both great.
Actually lots of footage recently has surfaced on U Tube of Robinson in his prime. You should check it out!
In the last 2yrs what top 10 LHW has he beaten?
Not many, but he has beat lots in the past, and Hanshaw was a pretty touted fighter who Jones toyed with.
Roy still beats some 175 contenders.........
Exactly he has not beaten any. Hanshaw name to fame was having an overrated trainer in his corner. And, winning a C level SMW tourney... Hanshaw is not that good. Name 1 LHW contender that Roy could honestly beat?
I think Roy still beats Yusaf Mack, Gabriel Campillo, and maybe even Adrian Diaconu.
Well I guess we will agree to disagree. Roy has to prove me he still has it. I have not seen anything from him recently that would make me think he could beat any of them...
I expect him to beat up the limted Danny Green to. To win the IBO Cruiserweight Title, which is a nice little accomplishment for him.
When has he beat a "legend" in recent times?
He beat an inactive, blown up Tito Trinidad, a few bums, and a few shot to shit guys. I can see where you're coming from and all... but he hasn't beaten anyone to really say "Wow, he's good" in recent memory. IMO.
The Legend was Trinidad. His resume of late is nothing amazing, but I'd say still impressive, considering he's such a washed up fighter.
-Prince Badi Ajamu (Was on a 7 fight win streak, and after the Jones defeat has won two since)
-Anthony Hanshaw(Was 21-0 at the time, and was also a world class amature and was only 28 at the time, and was getting touted for big things by Gary Shaw)
-Felix Trinidad (Although past his best, still could punch, and had a hard training camp)
-Jeff Lacy (Former IBF 168 Champion, and had only lost 1 of his last 4 heading into the Jones)
-
Really Trinidad at 170? You was impress by that?
Lacy who was ruined by Calzaghe. And, also lossed to Taylor. That Lacy you talking about?
Roy should not be ranked in the top 10 at all...
Yes he should. He is still better than some of the 175's in the top ten.
Word. Chad had some bullshit excuse after the 1st fight, and that's why I fell off as a fan of his. I regained some lost respect for him when he signed the rematch, but I'm afraid it's too late for Glen to make it count. I hope I'm wrong. I'd luv to see the Road Warrior win it.
Agreed :fing02:
It took Dawson's camp so long to make the rematch because beating Tarver meant more and he claimed another title( and Tarver is also a bigger name than Glen), so its like why wouldn't he take the fight? Also, lets not remember that the fight was only last year.
When was you ever a fan of Chad Dawson?
He should of give Glen a straight rematch, and then fought Tarver. And then they give Tarver another fight, 6 months after battering him, why did he get a remtach straight away?
No offence take you glasses off and get your head out of dawsons ass!
That being said, the sad truth is Id still rather watch an old Roy than half these dudes out here now. Even on his way out, or "shot" as some call him, he's still incredibley entertaining to watch; maybe even moreso now that he gets hit more
I to still enjoy watching Jones fight, wish he would stop them showboating antics do. Felt sorry for Lacy in that fight when Jones was doing all that hopping around shit.
