Versus, which already struck a deal with Golden Boy to televise Bernard Hopkins' Dec. 2 fight against Enrique Ornelas live from Philadelphia, made a deal this week with Square Ring to pair the Hopkins-Ornelas fight with same-day taped coverage of Roy Jones' fight with Danny Green from Australia, although it won't be formally announced until next week. Hopkins and Jones have a signed agreement to face each other in a rematch in early 2010 on HBO PPV -- as long as they both win their December tune-up bouts. Source
60/40 I kick yo ass?
That's good for boxing. I just hope they perform impressively to keep the interest in the rematch at the high level it is now despite me personally not being that interested in their potential fight.
i heard they are paying people to come watch hopkins fight...they still having trouble filling the seats...as an added incentive they are giving out complimentary pillows for that mid rounds cat nap....
Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins both fighting on Versus on the same card. WHO WOULD HAVE EVER THOUGHT!?
well we know when it comes to thinking you are excused....
If both fighters win will it be a cruserweight for roys ibo cruserweight title?
I don't think so. I'd think they'd want to fight at the weight they feel the most comfortable at. Which is 175 and not cruiser, but you never know with these 2.
If both fighters win will it be a cruserweight for roys ibo cruserweight title?
Yep, Hopkins was in negotiations for Adameks cruiserweight title at one stage, now it'll be either Roy Jones or Danny Green I guess, depending on who wins.
Finally I don't have to pay $34.99 to watch another Square Ring PPV of Roy fightin a bum and listening to Bob ****ing Sherriden. Thank you Versus! Goodlooks on the news, I was prayin they'd put it together like that to build the re-match hype since most casual fans have no idea they fought like 16 years ago
