During the interview with R.A he was asked who is he going to fight next and he said its up to his people. I thought he is his own boss?
Why does Ellerbe or Haymon have a say
they are just there to crunch numbers and give massages
so if he is his own boss why doesnt he just come out and say this is who I want make it happen.
Thats what oscar did and he made it happen

he is just saying that to avoid answering the question. and it's not because he is scared, its just a negotiation tactic.
floyd has fought so many great fighters, he doesn't need to duck anybody, he is just fighting for money now.
Name one fighter in the world he would be a significant underdog against?
Nobody. He would be favored againt anybody. That is because he is the best fighter in the world. This whole "he has never been an underdog" nonsense is just bullshit that makes zero sense.
Floyd would be favored against Mosley, Cotto and Pac.
He says that because he does not know who he is going to fight next. Right now I am assuming it is between Mosley and the winner of Cotto v Pac. He needs to wait for nov 14 in order to determine which direction he will go in.
It aint gonna be SSM. We all know that Floyd ducks people and it seems he is ducking SSM.

If he's so great, why doesn't he take on the tough challenges?!? How funny you compare PBF decisions on who to fight to pac. When was PBF a significant underdog? When was the last time he was really challenged? Oh the shot, 5 years past prime DLH?!?
Name one fighter in the world he would be a significant underdog against?
So is that hard to say
well Im leaning toward the winner of pac cotto?
Wouldnt that avoid alot of questions and make him look good?
There's many reasons why Floyd won't say who he wants next. Many of the ones everyone knows, but I do know that he doesn't want it clearly to be known that he's just really interested in Pacquiao.
They're playing a game of who needs who the most and if he shows he's only interested in Pac then he would have to settle for Pacquiao's demands and that something he wants to avoid.
Floyd will make a move in December, i hope it's either the winner of Cotto-Pac or Mosley and not Berto, Juan Diaz or Saul Alvarez.
It'll be Paulie Malignaggi after he gave Juan Diaz a "boxing lesson" in december.
this is where i got to intervene! What makes margarito so dangerous. In 05 0r 06, who did he beat to make him so dangerous? Your opinion isn't facts... Facts are that margarito had won his belt froma vacant title. He has still not beaten a champion!!! Margarito was not dangerous.
At the time, floyd did what he was supposed to do and fought the the top 2 guys of the division. Cotto wasn't even there yet, he hadn't beaten mosley yet and was just as green as he was when he was at 140. And even he is yet to beat a champion, all his belts have come from vacant titles as well.
U can't diss baldomir for seizing his opportunity and becoming champion. Baldomir earne dhis shot at floyd in the ring and not some hype like margarito tried to do. If you want the top guy to fight you. Then beat somebody to get to him and baldomir did that.
At that time everyone had Margs as the most avoided fighter and the most dangerous blah blah blah
that is what made him a threat bro
he had hype and Floyd refused to fight him
why?
cause he does not take on real challenges.
I think Floyd would wipe the floor with margs but we will never know until he fights him and he didnt
now he says the margarito that got destroyed by mosley
no Floyd its the margarito that you avoided
the margarito you could have destroyed but chose the easier route
its not about belts bro
its about fighting the best top level comp and floyd has not done that since Corrales
here are the facts.
Floyd wanted cotto before his star had risen and he was at his best
floyd didn't want cotto when he had built a fanbase and was in top form
floyd passed on an offer to fight a much more dangerous fight with margarito for little known and of no threat baldomir.
Floyd has been at 147 since 2005 and has yet to fight the guy considered the most dangerous in the division.floyd will not prove himself against other top contenders because he doesn't think its worth is time.
Floyd wants to wait until the last man standing to make a mega fight instead of taking a chance
you will go to extreme lengths to protect floyd and continue to make any excuse available to dismiss floyd from actually taking a risk.
Not only facts, but the bottom line.

That answer tells me
"were waiting for pac and cotto to fight so we cant fight whoeever has the best showing and generates the most money, i am my own boss in terms of how much money i make and the percentage, but not in who i decide to fight"
thats really the only logical thing i can make out of that.
Who gives a shit? Mr boat buyer ain't fightin SSM or Cotto should he beat Pac. If Pac wins, Mr boat buyer gotta agree on the $ to fight him. Til he confirms he's signed to face 1 of these guys, fuck anything he says. It's irrelevant.
:haha: the truth.
people need to stop hating on one of the greatest to ever lace up a pair of gloves. he is his own boss in the sense that he gets a 100% of the money he earns and he manages his income. however, he needs the help of consultants to analyze which fight will benefit him not only economically, but his career. which fights are worth training hard for. he's a smart fighter, inside and outside of the ring. he's not going to train hard for a fight with risks of getting hurt and not getting rewarded for it. if the money is right he'll take the fight and before everyone comes and says "shane and pacquiao would generate big numbers."
yes they would but he's waiting for the boxers to get to where he's at so he doesn't have to fight all of the contenders. cotto still needs to solidify his legacy in boxing with what will be a huge win over pacquiao and pacquiao needs to prove he can fight at that weight class. pacquiao needs to prove he's really that good and not just a product of good marketing/publicity with wins over a shot way past prime de la hoya and overhyped english sensation ricky hatton (who can't even stay in shape between fights). not to mention they both walk around way heavier than the catch weights and they had to drain down for the fights.
once he losses in embarrassing fashion you people will see why mayweather was waiting for this fight to happen. he wants to fight "the one" and not have to fight all of the possible contenders. and a shane mosley fight? train hard to whoop a 38 year olds ass on national tv? to then have people discredit him again saying he won because shane was past his prime and old? come on now.
Thats what great fighters do,
take on all credible threats, or as many as you can.
Floyd waiting for "the one", does not make him anything near "one of the greatest to ever lace up a pair of gloves".
It makes him an opportunist.
Huge difference. You may call it "smart". In the real world of fighting, men call that being a bitch ass bitch.

Cotto said No to Floyd. <___BOTTOMLINE__
Arum never made a offer to Floyd to fight Cotto <___BOTTOMLINE___
And how exactly do you know that? Are you part of Top Rank and know what going on behind the scenes? And Cotto was too green when Mayweather supposedly tried to fight him.. he wouldn't of made as much money as if he would've if he would've fought him later either.
So here are the facts..
Mayweather could've fought Cotto for more money and a better version of him didn't.
Cotto was more then willing to fight.
and you don't know shit.. trying to act like you have some type of insider information.
Cause he doesnt know yet, he needs to see his potential opponents first to see how they perform.
He wants to find a fight that gives him alot of money and the least threat.
Its ****ing pathetic
indeed it is pathetic. i'm not sure how the man has fans.

Cotto said he wasn't ready, but Floyd was willing to fight him then. when he was ready Floyd said he didn't bring enough to the table. Does it really get any more hypocritical than that my man? 2nd time around Cotto was a better fighter with way more exposure yet Floyd said no. Hmmmmm......
