Have you been following boxing avidly before 2015? Pacquiao has never even said he's afraid of needles, so right there I know you don't even know what you're talking about.
Actually he did, he or roach said that a couple of years ago its no secret.
Obviously this will be taken out of context now, and Floyd fans being Floyd fans will twist any and everything like pretending Golovkin chose Wade. But I think Pacquiao and co. were right to be suspicious of Mayweather and USADA as shown with the IV where USADA goes over the commissions head to perform a procedure they weren't allowed to conduct and in the seclusion of Mayweather's home instead of a commission approved hospital.
Pacquiao & Arum wanted the advanced testing to be overseen or performed by the commission(like the testing done in Bradley-Marquez) or otherwise a neutral organization.
In comes Raheem
No, pacman didnt want to be tested at all because he was "afraid of needles". For some reason he didnt want to be randomly tested, thats why the fight didnt happen back then. But now thats all irrelevant , fight happened he lost and everyone has moved on.
You know ive actually thought about this, maybe the layoff has helped TBE's hands heal up. Wont break them against mgregors huge ass head and will be able to fully commit to punches maybe.
Maidana giving Floyd hell doesn't make him A-level or elite. He is B-level at best. Maidana that fought Floyd is still the Maidana that lost to Khan, Alexander and Kotelnik.
Hell no lol. Maidana was not the same fighter that lost to khan. He improved under garcia and developed a pretty good jab.
Mcgregor is out of his element fighting TBE in a boxing ring.... so him. Hes also seems like floyd is getting to him a little and he cant rattle floyd. Hes not used to someone talking **** back to him and downright punking him like floyd did today.
Thats how easy it is for someone to sneak in like that to such a huge event. Literally anyone with any intent could have done that, laughable security to say the least.
I think it's insane, honestly. I don't care what his reach is. From distance, reach disadvantage or not, Floyd paint jobs him.
Floyd is a boxing master, and one of the great counter punching artists of his generation. The idea that McGregor could "out counter" Floyd is...it's insanity.
Exactly , if he tries to play the range game with the wide stance to be as far away as possible it will only hinder him. Floyd will just do the same and frustrate him into mistakes, lets say conor is able to establish some sort of range, floyd isnt stupid enough like these chit tier boxers to just leap in head first and get countered.
Its possible....but only because Floyd is older and slower now.
The undersized, piss drinking Marquez that Floyd fought and avoided most counters would ice McGregor easy.
Conor does have solid counters, Floyd does need to watch for them.
I think floyd is just going to walk him down, slip his left, and go to the body alot. Conor will probably gas from the pace up of boxing match very early then floyd might even TKO him. If you watch the guys conor is stopping in these vids they have slow feet, limited headmovement and slow hand speed and looping wide punches in general. Just not good boxers, but its what you kind of expect from a UFC fighter. The **** conor does against them wont work.
Yeah he looks great. Just started camp too, the closer this fight gets the harder it gets for me to pick. Ill still stick with GGG though i think his pressure can wear canelo down.
To be honest im just interested if his range can give floyd any problems. If not then he gets KOD. I know conor is most likely going to get shut out and possibly stopped. But there is a possibility that conors stance and long range will give floyd issues especially at 40 with a two year layoff.
I fully expect him to lose badly though.
I'm worried Conor might land so crazy super man punch that Floyd isn't prepared for. Other than that I'm not worried at all.
Conor doesnt throw superman punches.
Id bet on a TKO. Its just hard for me to see a guy that has never boxed lasting the full 12 against a guy that is the best of this era. Even after the layoff, last time we saw floyd coming off a layoff he looked as good as ever so i dont expect him to be rusty either once the bell rings.
I think conor takes a knee after gassing and ref waves it off. Or ref stops it after conor is taking punishment, or he quits on the stool. I just dont see him lasting
I think he takes 1 round early being aggressive and floyd being rusty. After that its all downhill fast.
But wont be surprised if he cant even do that and gets kod in 1 round lol
He hasnt knocked any boxers out. And the 2 guys with good chins he faced in MMA he didnt finish. Holloway and diaz.
In boxing as far as im concerned he has average power, and will have a very hard time even grazing mayweathers head lol
Ya I'm sure Lara and McG will fight very similarly
Conor likes to fight long and throw the lead left. So does lara. They are also exactly the same size. Not saying conor is like lara because lara would eat him for lunch.
But they are the same size ,same reach, and are both rangy southpaws. Also lara is very high level, should be able to help floyd knock the rust off and get good work in to prepare after a layoff. Not a bad idea at all.
lolwhat :lol1: That's a bull**** statement.
How is that bull****? Dude has a habit of getting randomly clipped up lately whenever someone lands a solid shot. Might not be just his chin though, he has kind of bad defense. Whenever he throws a combo hes too open and just leans back alot.

Actually i take that back, i think his chin is solid. He just has questionable defense. He just really lacks any boxing defense at times, just look at the last conor gif. He just rushed in with a wide hook just begging to get kod with a counter.
So why did it take 10 years for Jose Aldo to fall? Every single person tried and failed to do what Conor did in 13 seconds. What about Eddie Alvarez? Dropped 4 times and KO'd, something never done by a previous opponent in 4oz gloves. How about Nate Diaz? Never dropped in his career from a 4oz glove until he met Conor and was put down like a cow in a slaughter house 3 times in 2 rounds.
You make it sound so easy. Like everyone wearing 4oz gloves should boast KO records like Conor's. Well they don't and the reason McGregor is the name that he is is because he did what all the others could not.
Aldo always had a questionable chin. He got dropped in prior fights multiple times. He just got dropped and then finished in his last fight too. Hes a great muai thai striker who is explosive but his weakness has always been defense when hes punching.
whats the point of this thread exactly?? im lost..greatness is built off of fighting great challenges and building legacy right?? neither are anywhere close to being big stars so this thread is fvcking stupid
Im just poking fun, i remember alot of anti GGG posters clowned him for having only 97k PPV buys. So i just made the same joke about ward and all of a sudden they all get defensive and take it too serious.
How do you rate Rocky Marciano?
Lower than floyd, limited fighter in a limited era, he would get starched by fighters from the 80's on forward. Floyd is a much more complete and skilled fighter than him. Although rocky is an all time great to me who is probably top 10.
Nah, he's not TBE.
As many have said, he really doesn't have wins over the best during their prime eras
I won't mention old-school fighters, like Robinson, Joe Louis, Henry Armstrong, Willie Pep, but I do rate guys like Roy Jones, Duran, and Leonard higher than Floyd. He's a top 15/probably top 10 fighter in my eyes, but other than that I don't think he's ever had a fight I wouldn't have had him as the favorite. Not because he is that damn good (well he is), but because his opponents were on the decline and reasonable size. I don't blame him for it, but it would have been really telling to see him in a fight against someone like Leonard or Hearns.
That was my view on it earlier. But if you look at what floyd did compared to guys like SRL, in my opinion surpassses them. Because he started out at the low divisions destroying guys like gatti, coralles. Then moved up in weight after being so dominant, and continued to be dominant for an even longer stretch. His sustained success is greater than any of those guys, and its not like he was fighting bums he was fighting elite fighters who were still very good and alot of them coming off big wins like mosley. Even undefeated guys like hatton. And remained undeafeated throughout all those fights.
Towards the latter half of his career he was fighting guys bigger than him most of the time as well, not to mention i think his ring IQ is the greatest ever. Although sugar ray robinson is probably deserving to still hold that title because of his career and legacy. I honestly have floyd higher than Ali as ridiculous as it may sound, hes just a more skilled fighter, ali just has a better legacy and personailty outside of the ring.
