I'd say out of Floyd's last 12 fights he's the only one that's arguable.
Oscar
Hatton
Marquez
Mosley
Ortiz
Cotto
Guerrero
Canelo
Maidana x2
Pacquaio
Berto
Some people seem to be of the opinion that McGregor is a big puncher. I've seen nothing to suggest that but I suppose it's an interesting argument.
Does he hit harder than any of those? As I said only one I think is possibly arguable is Guerrero. But I would still say Ghost to be honest.
lolwhat :lol1: That's a bull**** statement.
How is that bull****? Dude has a habit of getting randomly clipped up lately whenever someone lands a solid shot. Might not be just his chin though, he has kind of bad defense. Whenever he throws a combo hes too open and just leans back alot.

Actually i take that back, i think his chin is solid. He just has questionable defense. He just really lacks any boxing defense at times, just look at the last conor gif. He just rushed in with a wide hook just begging to get kod with a counter.
:lol1:
There is definitely some truth that a lot of these guys in MMA in particular the wrestlers/grapplers can't take a shot well/react funny. A lot of these grapplers have been as ignorant to boxing/kickboxing/ Muay Thai as us boxing fans are to grappling its only the past few years its really come along and they're taking the striking as they call it a lot more serious. And a lot are failed boxers if you will.
Another way of looking at it is they have more ways to hide their punches in MMA behind kicks for example so they get caught by an unsuspecting punch easier. Perry has a Mauy Thai background so he will typically set his punches up behind his kicks often.
I remember his weigh in debut not long back and instantly hated that guy. I never knew he fought a boxing match so thanks for that it was great seeing him get ktfo. Anyone with ''Gods Gift'' tattooed across their stomach fully deserves to get KTFO :lol1:
He just looked terrible in his boxing match.
No power, even when he got into position his punches looked weak. And that's my point, in MMA he's 10 wins 10 KO's. The one thing you'd think he'd have is power.
The guy just took the piss out of him, knocked the guy out too in the end :lol1:
I don't know man, Pauli can't punch but in 4 Oz and if he's hitting those MMA guys he might.
Or maybe I'm wrong. I don't know anything about MMA.
Hey have you seen that UFC fighter Mike Perry? He's 10-1 with 10 KO's in UFC he had a boxing match with journeymen and got stopped in 4. Interesting to watch considered he's a massive puncher in UFC but looked like Pauli in his pro boxing debut punch power wise.
:lol1:

Might is understatement, he would but that's not a sport Malignaggi can do well in because he isn't strong enough physically. Though his power can be laughable at times when he hits that guy who's lunging in off balance, who's all squared up he'll get knockouts.
You know something, I just imagined what Malignaggi's ground and pound might look like and I'm laughing over here.
Pauli rocked Juan Diaz remember that?
He stopped that journeyman a few years ago. Only fight I ever watched where he stoppes a guy oh yeah and Senchenko aswell.
He uses 4oz gloves, easier to KO someone the less padding the gloves have. With 8-10oz you need more skill than brute strength although some fighters hit so hard that their punches hurt even with those boxing gloves. I don't think McGregor is going to be one of those fighters.

Paulie is also a professional boxer does he hit harder than Conor? You put 4oz gloves on him and the only thing he is going to break is a nail.
There are guys with zero MMA or boxing experience that will have destructive punch power. Some guys will train their whole lives, have great technique, leverage, balance and just be unable to hurt a fly.
I won't make out he is a Kudryashov, a Kovalev or whoever but he has decent power even with 10s he's going to have some sort of power there. Whether he can get into position to make use of it is another thing.

It's easier for McGregor to appear as a big puncher when guys aren't in a boxing stance and are incapable of rolling shots, of course that's because they're worried about more than just punches but it's something people keep ignoring.
It's hard to measure McGregor's power but like Iron, I think Guerrero is probably the only one he may actually hit harder than, that's it.

So Conor has had 1 or 2 actual KOs, and a bunch of their knockdowns that were KOs because in MMA you are allowed to attack a downed opponent.
Sorry, if Guerrero was wearing 4 oz gloves in boxing he'd have dozens of straight up KOs. Ones where the guy was out before he hit the canvas. McGregor has a couple boxing style KOs in 21 fights. Floyd has more straight KOs than McGregor by a long shot.
You don't reckon? He is a big lump that Diaz and weighs like 170 lbs.
Reckon Guererro (2013 version) couldn't drop him with 4 oz on?
If he hit him with a the right shot I guess it could happen but that guy really can take a shot. He really is super durable and fought at 170 a fair few times, I think maybe even above that at catchweights - They're pretty much cutting down from say 190 and the only time he's been dropped with punches was by Conor and only been stopped once by a flush as you like headkick.
He has a pretty granite chin, certainly one of the very best in MMA.
The Ghost
As horrible as he may be
Is a professional boxer
So yeah P4P he punches harder than McGregor
Atleast that's what I believe
I'm with OP I don't see cracking power with conor
Dudes just fall down
Diaz didn't though
Also sleeping guys is rare, and more about sneaking up on guys with a bomb they dont see/expect. You wouldn't say Golovkin or Matthysse aren't big punchers because off the top I can only think of one guy each slept.
This is true too.
When people get properly put out it usually happens when they are exchanging hooks or caught coming in. Aside from the heavyweights who can occasionally put someone out with something that could have had a postcard sent ahead of it.
When Groves got sent to Mars by Froch. That simply wouldn't have happened even if he just stood there and ate the shot and stared at the ceiling.
The few videos I've seen of McGregor sparring he looks mechanical with boxing gloves. He's definitely more fluid with 4 oz gloves. He probably hits harder than Guerrero in 4 oz gloves but about the same with boxing gloves because of his technique.
I remember an old video of Jeff Mayweather dropping King Mo Lawal with a body shot in training. It took him awhile to catch his breath. Just saying.

Doesn't matter if they have better technique or whatever, we all know punchers are born not made and the fights at 154 he'll probably be 170 by fight night.
No question he hits harder than Guerrero. The weight and everything else considered I'd say he probably hit about as hard as Ortiz who I would put around mid-list.
Different types of power too I'd say his power was more comparable to an Ortiz.
He's not the puncher he is made out to be IMO these fighters just haven't the built up punch resistance and are clueless on how to fight a southpaw so get caught blind sided whilst overextending but he definitely will have some sort of power Floyd had ought to respect.
Floyds older and slower too, chances are his punch resistance has diminished.
He has some sort of punchers chance.
I don't know I'd say Ortiz definitely hits harder.
If a blockhead like Nate Diaz the MMA equivalent of like a Ruslan Provodnikov who spars Andre Ward, Joe Shilling etc says he has decent power and he dropped him a few times he has some pop.
I don't think a guy like Guerrero would put a dent in Diaz tbh
You don't reckon? He is a big lump that Diaz and weighs like 170 lbs.

He was standing on his own and sqautted :lol1: and that was after less than a minute. "5 minutes"
He wasn't out cold? :dunno: Badly hurt obviously
He wasn't sleeping. But he was removed from his consciousness.
