Tyson. Vitali keeps his hands too low. It works against slower heavyweights but Tyson will take advantage. Tyson will have the speed + power advantage. I can see him tagging Vitali multiple times and eventually KO'ing him.
Pavlik looks impressive. He's doing a great job on the inside. Those left hooks he's throwing look painful.
I hope the corner doesn't let him come out for the next round.
It's not "whatever", man. Abell went down, the referee is supposed to separate them and start the count.
Referees are being way to cautious these days. More than once I've had friends/family who don't follow boxing see stuff like this and ask why the hell the ref ran in and waved the fight off. It can't be helping the sport.
There was no standing 8 count. The only way the ref could've separated them at that point was to stop the fight and he did.
Too lazy to check boxrec but doesn't he usually weigh in around 153? It's crazy seeing that. I have no clue how he makes that weight so easily.
On a side note, Cotto was never big at 154, but damn that picture is crazy the it looks like a super middle weight standing next to a welterweight or some *****
They're lying. Not only are they theives they're also liars. They won't get another dollar from me...unless they steal it again
Can u suck my dick?
You deserved to get robbed
Yes he is. He pressures but doesnt really attack he walks his opponents down and baits them into pull counters
Sounds a lot like Canelo... He was the bigger fighter too
In recent memory the only fighter I remember attacking Floyd without giving a f*ck about counters was Maidana and he did a lot better than most people expected.
Don't get me wrong, he still lost the first fight it was like a 7-5 or 8-4 win for Mayweather. 6-6 at best if you gave every single close one to Maidana.
Maidana has an excellent jab and a really powerful and awkward looping right that's very hard to time. I don't see a boxing noob like McGregor being able to fight like him. Despite all the talking, I don't think Mcgregor has a mentality of not giving a f*ck like Maidana does. He's gonna get hit with some sharp punches like he's never seen before and will back off and go into survival mode until he quits on his stool.
none of those guys have as much natural punching power as Conor in the first 3 rounds. show me their KO % in the first 3 rounds.
none of those guys have COnor's reach either.
Have you seen Maidana's and Canelo's KO% in first 3-4 rounds? Almost all their knockouts are early. wtf does that have to do with anything? It didn't help them when they fought Mayweather.
Canelo has some of the best timing in boxing and outweighed Mayweather by like 20 pounds on fight night. That didn't help and Canelo is one of the best boxers on the planet
Maidana had an awkward style and some of the heaviest hands in boxing, still didn't help him
Thinking McGregor has a chance to KO a fighter who's never even been knocked down before is some stupid Skip Bayless type thinking. This fight is a waste of time
The best way to settle this is for Ward fans to point the 7 rounds he supposedly took from Kovalev.
I need to watch this fight again.
5 7 8 9 10 11 12
Rounds 5,6 and 10 were toss up rounds honestly. I still don't know how Lederman gave Kovalev round 12
Can this board just admit that Kovalev did do more damage throughout the fight but boxing is scored on a round by round basis and this fight had too many swing rounds for anyone to get robbed
Two of these fights were at MW and a MW belt was at stake. Only fights at 154 were Trout and Liam Smith.
You also think Canelo should still hold the lineal MW Title?
Yeah, I forgot he fought Lara at Canelo weight. Beating two of the top 10 ranked by the Ring right now is still solid. Looking at the rankings I can't see anyone there I would put him ahead of. Lara lost to Canelo already. Charlo's are unproven for the most part. So is Andrade. Cotto lost to him already. Where do you think he belongs?
I don't like the fact that he's the lineal champion, but a lineal champ can't be stripped until he's defeated. At the very least if Canelo never fights at middle weight again the lineage will be lost, but we all know that isn't happening. This Liam Smith fight was probably a one time thing.
Well, he has beaten three of the guys in the top 10(4 if you include Cotto). Who else deserves to be in front of him?
And he is still the lineal Champ at 160. I hate the fact that he is, but he technically is.
I thought Don King just had some deal between him and Showtime or something like that...PBC doesn't have him listed on their website, for whatever that's worth
Assuming they are splitting 50/50 with Mandalay Bay, and it was 12 as you say. that means they are getting 6 million each right?
Cotto is getting that 6 million, PLUS the 7 million he would have got at MSG. Cotto had all the leverage, the only reason that happened is because Canelo refused to fight in NY and that's what it took to get the fight done. They walked away the first time, they weren't about to do it again and instead of fight in NY they simply took less money.
You're just making stuff up at this point
So how much were they getting from MSG? Yes, that's what I thought, it was made up. So you have no clue what he is getting, if it's the full 12 million well guess what, it could be.
I don't know what they were getting from MSG. I don't care either. I'm just saying the thread title, op and you are lying about Cotto being guaranteed $22 million that's just straight up bullsh*t
Where did I say it was fact. You used theoretical numbers and so did I... WTF, you can make assumptions but it's an issue because it doesn't agree with your view of it?
I didn't make up any numbers
http://espn.go.com/blog/dan-rafael/post/_/id/13575/cotto-canelo-site-determined-but-deal-not-done-yet
He gave it up, period. Why people are hung up on this I don't know it's actually old news. He gave up the money to have the fight in Vegas, that's why Cotto is getting paid.
That I knew but the other article(spanish one) just says Mandalay could possibly pay up to $12 million for Cotto's fight it never says anything about Cotto keeping all that $12 million plus another $10 million guaranteed
Yea idk wtf people are thinking. Oscar would wear fishnets to the fight before he's giving up a $12M site fee.
Probably more like $17.2M for Cotto & $12.3M for Canelo which is splitting up the site fee 60/40 for Cotto.
I've read that article and nowhere does it say all of the $12 million + $10 million is going to Cotto...I don't get where the $22 million is coming from. Am I missing something here?
Not if it's going head to head with a Mayweather fight. Alvarez and Mayweather are big headed neither will want to move but Cotto will see sense.
I thought it was already made clear that the distributors(cable/satellite providers) would never agree to do a head-to-head PPV.
I've said this before and I'll say it again, I don't think Floyd fights in the first half of 2015. He won't be able to find a worthy opponent that can knock off Cotto-Canelo card from it's supposed May 2nd date and instead of moving the date he'll just take a year off.
Good luck on trying to convince Team Cotto to fight Canelo not only on a Mexican holiday, but at a pro-Mexican venue (Vegas, Dallas). :lol1:
Why would Cotto oppose the date? It makes the most sense for both parties to fight on the Mexican holiday
arum has never received the amount of hate al haymon gets......it's not even close and he's done things far worse than al haymon.
Yes he has. Were you even following boxing a few year ago when Top Rank was the biggest promoter in the business? All people did was bash Arum. He was easily the most hated person in boxing and rightfully so. Just like Haymon is right now
