Yeah, Bradley is the current number one, it's only fair that Alexander would take his spot. So he'll be ranked number one. But he'll have to beat Khan to really solidify it.
Ugh and tell me what other company has the capital and viewership to Pay them millions. Fedor is an anomoly he got lucky and has an excellent promoter but when compared to the next highest payed fighter (Brock Lesner) there is a giant drop off in how much money the UFC pays out.
But another thing you havent taken into consideration is the dozens upon dozen of sponsers each fighter has. that income doesn't get reported so who knows how much the UFC fighters are making.
GSP made 900K in salary and Nick Diaz said he heard he made a couple million dollars this year. So he probably made another million dollars from endorsements. GSP is one of the top two draws in the sport and arguably the most endorsed. He made about one twentieth of what Pacqiao did.
And while it would help if Strikeforce got it's **** together and provided a viable alternative, all their miserable failure is doing is slowing down the process. Eventually the fighters will band together, or a fighter will break through into the mainstream and realize that he can be bigger than the brand. You can't have a promotion without fighters, just like you can't run a steel mill without workers. Like I said, monopolies don't last forever.
And it will stay that way, MMA is not intrested in following the boxing buissness model. You wanna fight in the UFC you are gonna fight who they say for the Ammount of money they wanna give you. The end!
And you think it's gonna stay that way? You have Fedor avatar. What's gonna happen when the GSPs and Brock Lesnars of the world decide they don't want to be treated like slaves anymore just like Fedor? Monopolies don't work and they aren't even legal, take a history class and find out why.
Great Post.
Klitschko-Tyson common opponents:
Lewis KO'd Tyson in 8 rounds.
Vitali dominated Lewis and scared him into retirement.
Williams KO'd Tyson in 4 rounds.
Vitali annihilated Williams.
Tyson couldn't stop Tony Tucker, who was KO'd in 2 rounds by Herbie Hide, who was destroyed in 2 rounds by Vitali.
The ridiculously overrated Tyson gets destroyed by either Klitschko.
But Tyson beat the great Trevor Berbick who beat Muhammad Ali! Tyson basically beat Muhammad Ali! Can Wlad claim any victory that historic?
The UFC can match the biggest boxers in terms of PPV buys but that doesn't mean it's established as a sport. The WWF used to do huge PPVs too, it doesn't mean it's legit.
I hate to compare the UFC to pro wrestling, but that's where the UFC is currently in terms of respect. It's still dismissable as a fad at this point, it's still in the process of being legitimized. It's a joke to say it's as established as boxing when it's not even sanctioned in every state in the US.
It's done exceptionally well for a sport that is as young as it is, but boxing has over a hundred years of well documented history behind it and MMA just can't touch that prestige yet.
Where are they gonna have it then? Nottingham? Are we gonna pretend Froch didn't rob Dirrell?
Biased judging is part of the sport and Froch has benefited from it before. He'll get exactly what's coming to him. If he can KO Ward then power to him. If he gets robbed he had it coming.
:haha:
P4P ain't no pacfan hahaha he's a floyd fan through and through, only noob like you can be fooled like that.
Anyway, I find the comment funny. Thanks for hyping this fight 50 cents, it's a good sign that boxing is going towards the right direction. Hope he composes a song about these two fighters.
This isn't 2004, the dude fell off. Having 50 pay attention to you isn't really a big deal anymore.
when he was young.........what has he done lately???
What has Prescott done...ever? He should pray to Khan every night before he goes to sleep because that knockout is literally the only reason anyone knows his name. I don't think Khan is scared, but I do think he should fight him just to shut the haters up already. The topic is about who deserves a fight more, and at least Witter was a champion and a pretty damn good boxer for a while.
So you're saying Witter's career < beating Khan in 2008?
He didn't KO Amir Khan: WBA World Light-Welterweight Champion
He KO'd Amir Khan WBO Inter-Continental Lightweight Titlist
There's a pretty big difference
Floyd Mayweather:
WBC light middleweight title
Manny Pacquiao:
vacant WBC light middleweight title (supervisor: Jose Sulaiman)
Sergio Martinez:
2009-02-14 153¼ Kermit Cintron 154 30-2-0
BankAtlantic Center, Sunrise, Florida, United States D MD 12 12
interim WBC light middleweight title
Ridiculous. If Pac beat Sergio you'd claim he's a natural MW and ducking Ward.
Fighting at JMW one time =/= being a JMW
Pac's natural weight class is LW, Mayweather is a natural WW. These are facts of nature, belts only make you heavier when you wear them.
What a sore loser. He had his shot at Khan, literally. He caught him and he couldn't knock him down, Khan's the one who dropped him in the first round. Maidana should go back on the warpath and actually earn a rematch.
This is basically gonna be a tuneup fight either way. You can hype up McCloskey all you want, you're not gonna convince anyone this is some kind of marquee matchup. Whooping Prescott is very important to his reputation and will highlight his growth as a fighter. That's what he has to gain from it.
Just slightly overlook the fact that an American will perhaps be fighting an Englishman in America and you might actually have a point there.
"as neutral a venue as your going to find", dear oh dear. LOL!
We Americans don't need to steal decisions to win because our fighters are actually good. We can accept when they lose because we have more to spare. That's what separates us from you pathetic limey losers.
