That KO of Morales was strikingly similar to when Khan was KO'd by Garcia. I mean damn, it was almost a spitting image.!
They weren't that similar at all. The Morales one is 100% more flush than the one that hit Khan on the neck/ear.
The shot on Morales is more like the shot Pacman hit Hatton with. Square on the chin with Morales momentum taking the full force of the shot.
Khan just got hit with a good shot, then proceeded to treat us a new, slightly longer, chicken dance. I say new, because that version included a sweet breakdown where he asked to be punched on the chin.
Nah, he was the main feature in Boxing weekly last week, he sounds more motivated than ever by his losses. This was before the Khan fight was announced so it seems that the Ortiz KO has got him his route back to the top.
Paulie showed what sort of fighter he is vs Cotto. His face was swelling up Angulo style by the end and his eye was badly cut from 30 seconds in but he still didn't give Cotto a moment to think through the whole fight. He's a skillful fighter but he's also got bags of heart which gets overlooked in fighters that aren't traditional brawlers. If he's got this far as a fighter without being able to bang like others at his weight, think how good a boxer he must actually be.
NEGU!!
Audley's main problem now (....main problem is debatable) is that after Wilder, no UK promoter can legitimately book him as an opponent. Coming off the Price defeat, he threw himself into the mix with prize fighter but after Wilder's demolition there's really no options for Audley in the UK, unless he drops way to the bottom of the pile.
Foolishly, I think he might give Fury a decent fight (I don't believe Fury bangs like Wilder or Price, and he doesn't pressure like Chisora) but there's no way a top promoter can announce he's booked A Force, not a chance.
I went to bed thinking it was just some crappy exhibition fight to parade Coyle in front of his home town - saw twitter going mad about it and watched it this morning. God damn do I regret not watching it live! The knockdown in the 11th was crazy, I can only think of Maidana vs Ortiz where one guy gets up just to sit the other guy down with the next shot. Coyle's knockdown was much harder though, I thought he was finished at that point.
Woodhouse winning the British title will stay in my mind for a long time as well, him and Dave Coldwell were going mental!
no...the chances are that the P4P #1 might be looking for an overhand right from a fighter famous for overhand rights, and who beat up his last opponent using overhand rights.
Great news, but I hope Channel 5 actually market the fight rather than put the show on for the minimum amount of time possible. Al Bernstein must be wondering why they fly him out for Kid Galahad's fights.
Naz lost a 12 round decision in a fight that was even half way through, stuck around for the post fight interview and said he would take the loss.
Broner walked out of the ring before the formalities and had to be escorted back to the dressing room looking like he was going to cry.
He also got bummed by Maidana.
Broners was far more embarassing.
Barry Jones is one of my favorite boxing pundit's, I was surprised at how much he ignored Algieri's work last night. Had to mute the commentary after the 5th round.
Don't know if you listen to Buncey's ESPN podcast but Barry Jones is the co-host on there and his analysis and knowledge is quality.

I watched the build up to the fight on youtube today funnily enough. Naz's comments about giving Kevin Kelly a job putting up his posters was so funny. They had some good banter back and forth in the immediate build up.
There's a recent (ish) interview with Naz on youtube at the Kell Brook v Matthew Hatton fight where he says he still speaks to Kevin Kelly, and then he closes by saying 'bless him, its been 15 years and he still hasn't seen the shot that knocked him out'.
The Kelly fight is probably the best example of the power that Naz has in both hands, at any time. Any fighter can bang if they set themselves and wind up, Naz could be on the back foot with no balance and still KO guys with his weakest hand.
That's one of the worst interviews I've ever read, there's no attempt to probe the issue or challenge her, its just a vehicle for her to promote herself.
No one can call Canelo v Mayweather a draw without being paid off, no one.
I was down there earlier today and there's no way it was staged. Chisora had been there for ages before Fury showed up and walked into the crowd for about 15 minutes talking face to face with people rather than taking questions from the stage. He had plenty of one-on-one banter with people all afternoon before Fury decided to show up an hour late. To be fair he held the whole thing together and came across like he actually gave a ****, unlike Fury who rocked up an hour late because he wanted to go to Nando's.
Vid of Groves 'security' trying to push their way onto the stage (sorry not sure how to embed the video). It goes on from the 3 minute mark, after they clearly agree no more of them will go on the stage at the start of the vid. I didn't realise at the time, but it was Groves security that Eddie Hearn was asking to stand back during the face off.

Bit of a ***** move by Groves to bring a legion of security to try to intimidate Froch.
Khan's comments are partly hypocritical; I think that Brook has done as much to 'earn' a shot at Khan as khan has to earn a shot at Mayweather.
Over the period of time that Khan has been ripping Brook, 2 of his 3 fights have been against Carlos Molina and Julio Diaz, so he can't really say he's going after top opposition constantly, either one of those could have been replaced by Brook. It's also debatable that the Collazo he beat was shot to ****.
That being said, if I were Khan I wouldn't be fighting Brook - he's got no belt worth having and he isn't known in the states, so it's all risk and no reward. Unless he KO's Brook inside 6, he's going to be told he under-performed, so why take the fight? He's done enough to earn a reputation in the states to not have to hand it over in a fight in Brooks back yard.
It wasn't a lucky shot at all. Garcia was throwing the hook frequently. It was just that Khan had evaded it up to that point.
Agreed, he was looking for that shot and he knew Khan was wide open for it. People put too much weight on the fact he had his eyes close when he threw the shot. He wasn't throwing it blind he knew exactly what he was doing.
That said, let's quash the line that Garcia 'dominated' Khan. He did nothing of the sort. Khan was outboxing him up until the first knockdown - Garcia's face was getting raked up.
I think when a guy smashes up his opponent that badly, for that length of time in a fight that short, it's fair to say he dominated him.
Someone that's 'all wrong' for Carl Froch? Where have I heard that before...

Glad too see that doing the rounds. I was at the fight and it was the worst organised event imaginable. BJS and Fury brought scores of their gypsy extended family without tickets who just felt they ran the place - and they did because security did f..k all.
I reckon the event was also oversold by about 2000 people, I spoke to a few people who had moved to go to the bar and when they got back some gypo had nicked their seat and refused to move. Security refused to do anything.
There were scores of people who just walked into the outer ring area because there was no one there to stop them. Again, security did nothing. The bloke in front of me got threatened and left his £250 seat because people were walking up and offering him out because he told some kid (Fury's 18th nephew, twice removed) to move out of the way.
Team fury eventually started letting some of their brothers/cousins/nephews into the inner ring area when after about an hour of the crowd shouting at security they finally got off their arse.
Frank Warren is a money grabbing c...t for overselling that. I feel bad for the people who paid good money to watch a fight only be threatened and have their seat nicked by BJS fan club.
Still....BJS v Eubank ...what a fight. I had Eubank winning it for the more accurate shots and the fact he had BJS backing up for the second half of the fight. Credit to both fighters, and credit for Eubank for not being intimidated by that crowd. If he won that, there's no way they werent kicking off.
Matchroom offered him 25%.
Cheers - I thought the £1m was just a flat offer. Saw Frotch's brother banging on about the 25% on twitter but presumed he was just on the wind up.
Khan forgets to note that 'his' hometown is only about an hour away, and that 99% of the Sheffield crowd will want to see him get knocked out.
If he thinks Sheffield prefers him to Brook, he's sorely mistaken.
So by the way people are talking Groves will get less than the £1m he was offered already.....but why is 15% of the purse necessarily going to be less than £1m? Anyone know what the purse was for the first fight?
NEGU!!
Audley's main problem now (....main problem is debatable) is that after Wilder, no UK promoter can legitimately book him as an opponent. The Alexander fight was reschedule 3 times and Kell pulled out 2 of the 3 times. He also turn down Tim Bradley after the pac win.
Yeah, so he pulled out of one fight, the Devon Alexander fight. Should he have fought with an injury? Do you think of Alexander as someone who pulls out of fights?
Don't see how turning down Bradley relates to anything? He had the Alexander fight on the cards and would have lost his IBF ranking. Also, the story comes directly from Amir Khan, no one knows the situation at all.
I'm a brook fan but I find it hard to see how he wins this fight unless his jab becomes a massive problem for Porter. Brooks biggest problem is that he has zero inside game and Porter can bully him on the inside. Kell's a good technical boxer and throws impressive combo's, but is Porter really likely to stand there and let him? Doubt it. Can you imagine Brook vs Maidana? Jesus.
When you look at recent UK fighters vs world class opposition (Bellew vs Stevenson, Reese vs Broner, Rose vs Andrade) there's a clear gulf in class, they shouldn't have been in the same ring. That's not the case with Brook, he's leagues above everything domestically and at European level, I just don't think he beats Porter.
Right, so sky drop most of the boxing, and it's bad because boxing gets less coverage. Sky plugs the few boxers they have left and it makes people dislike them.
Makes sense....
This is absolutely a keep-warm fight for Brook, and probably the only one he could get that has an ounce of credibility. The first fight was competitive because Brook gassed, as such it looks like a decent rematch, which I'm not convinced it is.
I'd expect Brook to walk through Jones like he did in the first half of the first fight.
How does his mandatory situation lie at the moment - does it still stand after all the injuries and delays? He's been calling out Sugar Shane on twitter, so I'm guessing it doesn't still stand.

Video. Froch is rattled.
I would have thought Froch rolling up with his XXL family to act as cheerleaders might be enough for him to keep him emotions under control...NOPE
Edit. FFS he even took his brother out onto the pitch. He should start rapping and call them his band camp.
