Same case as Mijares... so if Mijares step up to bantam and win a big fight should be reinstalled as p4p I suppose...
No, thats why I said Vic isnt P4P, and I agree Mijares didnt look like himself either, but bottom line is they lost.
He said he wasn't hurt because he was sooooooo much in shock, he said the stupidest thing he could've.
Hey bro basically Vanes is a prospect that, IMO, is improving every fight.
Vic is fighting better oppisition and also getting better each fight. ( Z Gorres WIN/ Kirolov WIN/ Mijares WIN and he looked good in each one) But I need to see him fight Montiel or Donaire and then he'll crack my Top 10
AA is a beast, we all know that.
....agreed
Your right bro, and again, like I've said numerous times (by the way this was straight out of Vic's mouth when he was explaining to a mutual friend what happened) Vic overlooked Donaire. Donaire caught him off guard, Vic didn't prepare one percent. Thats why Vic been saying "I beat myself"
I wouldnt go as far as to believe that, remember he also said he wasnt even hurt when the knockdown occured. But I can see that maybe he overlooked donaire, but that doesnt say too much about Vic's common sense..donaire aint no joke.
Yes America would still like him IMO. Hell, people still like OJ so why not Oscar?
If he would of went to trial, I think he would of spent a ton more money.
Kobe was probably a better example.
all those guys where undefeated before they got on the list... so what got them on the list??? being undefeated or beating someone on the p4p list???
by your definition marg doesn't belong on the list cause just a couple fights ago he lost to pwill.
Cotto was putting together a pretty impressive run of wins together as a dominant 140 pound champ before moving up and beating Judah for the WBA belt at 147, THEN he beat Mosley.
Calzaghe got on the list for the decade-long run as the WBO SMW champ.
Hatton was over rated IMO, and I clearly stated I didnt agree with Marg. being on the list.
You guys don't seem to understand, Vic got dominated and KTFO by a fighter who was far from an elite guy only just over a year ago. Beating a guy ranked in the lower half of the list doesn't put you in the top ten in the sport p4p under those circumstances
thanks for saving me some typing danc1984
actually yeah, it is.
margarito got on it for beating cotto. cotto got on it for beating mosley. calzaghe got on it for beating lacy. hatton got on it for beating tszyu. etc...
all of those guys were undefeated at the time and hadnt been KO'd a few fights before. Except for marg but I didnt agree with that either.
i wish we had this same thread before the Mijares fight... cuz i guarantee some guys would have said somethin similar...
"if he beats Mijares, there is no reason since Mijares is a long time WBC, WBA champ... unbeaten in 6 years, title holder for 4."
i guess theres always a reason huh...
Thats why Mijares was P4P, why should Vic be, because of one big win?
VIC was a Flyweight World Champ with 7 successful defenses and is now a 2 division world champion... its not all about the big win... but i understand the big loss is always seen more than the big win in any case.
I think he's capable of making top 10, I just dont think he's top 10 right now IMO ...and I think he would beat Donaire in a rematch. He didnt look like himself that night he lost.

Chavez, Jr. chooses Pacman!

By Chris Cozzone
Following his dominating win over Matt Vanda last night at the Mandalay Bay, Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. gave his take on the upcoming De La Hoya-Pacquiao fight, Dec. 6: “People say it’s a crazy fight, but, honestly, from a fighter’s point-of-view, I think De La Hoya is going to have a very tough time with Pacquiao. He can win the fight, but my money is on Pacquiao. All the Mexicans are backing up Pacquiao.”
I think Chavez Jr. needs to stay in his place, he's hardly in a position to say what us Mexicans will do. Ive rooted for this kid since he turned pro, but him beating bums on PPV is a joke.
Man, just a big win and he is a top p4p? only time will tell, and only time will tell if you will continue kissing Vics arse if he lost his next fight whatever the opponent is
Co-sign......
why not??
wasn't Mijares one of your heroes??? or are you still bitter about the beating?
Show me where I ever mentioned mijares name before the Vic fight. If you can do that I'll send you 5k, how is he my hero? Know what your talking about or shut the fukk up. Just because I dont agree with you that your boyfriend Vic isnt P4P doesnt mean im bitter, I just call it how I see it.
I think Cotto can still hold his own with any WW, cant blame a guy for losing to Margarito, cant blame any WW for losing to Margarito or P. Williams any more then you can blame Margarito or P. Williams for losing to any MW that should be fighting at LH.
mayweather would have to beat someone in his own wieght class and on the top ten p4p list to ""earn"" a spot on the list in my opinion. Every one complains about the alphabet titles and how they just award fighters the belt without them having to fight a champion for it. they atleast got money to earn for their bias. Alot of you guys do the same thing with your p4p rankings just to nut hug. A guy dont just automaticlly earn a spot on the list just for being your fav. fighter. Floyd is off the list due to him retiring and inactivity and has to fight to be back on top. thats all there is to it IMO.
There's never any bashing involved. I just pose questions designed to make Boxing Scene members evaluate whether or not Cotto is a tad bit overrated.
Why is he overrated, He wasn't undefeated like most undefeated fighters where you can make a case that maybe they lost a few decisions here and there and got lucky. Everyone he ever beat was done convincingly, everyone is intitled to his own opinion tho.
