i see well we can expect less fights on ppv right?
well depends.
if they sell well, it'll just encourage more
**how do you think the economy doing poorly will effect the
Calzaghe/Jones and DLH/Pacquiao PPV buys?
Definitely. When money is tight, boxing PPV's are eliminated by all but the most hardcore fans. Calzaghe-Jones will be an interesting indication. In good times that fight would do very well.
it a 50/50 thing for me...most of it is because the economy is bad...but the other half is because people aren't into boxing like they use to..so buys are lower than what they use to be
I can only speak for myself here, but its a definite "yes" for me. The Hops vs Pavlik PPV was the first one this year I simply could not afford to buy. I will not be able to buy any more PPVs at least until next year. Thank god for streams!
YUP!
I heard the recent Chavez vs. Vanda did 27 buys :D
18 were local Vegas pubs that were scared of Old Bob.
The economy is so bad i heard there was only 27 people in the arena when vanes fought, but it doesn't help his fights are at damn near noon
