Well, I'm glad Ortiz proved us sceptics wrong. He DOES have what it takes to be a champion. And a p4p king even, perhaps. Berto really looked like he had been thrown off his game. I don't think HE was bad, but it was Ortiz that was so good.
Omg, can't believe this...will the fakin upsets stop coming already!:purity: I had enough of fighters I like getting upset already!:nonono: This is the year of the upsets alrite, The Ring won't have an easy time picking theirs.
I don't care how long it lasts just as long as its not a boring fight. I think it should last more than 1 round...3 at least. Salita was too cocky I think, hope McCloskey doesn't make the same mistake.
I guess this means Gamboa is better than Juanma, or what?? Gamboa himself struggled with Salido tho. Thats what puzzled me, I saw this guy's got 11 losses, but somehow he managed to give Gamboa a run for his money...thats what got me thinkin.
If Vasquez gets through Arce alright I'd love to see those 2 scrap it out. Both are very talented. Would be a fun fight thats for sure.
IF?? You mean WHEN? There's absolutely NO CHANCE an upset can happen there, if Arce lasts the distance, THATS gonna be the upset.:boxing: But I think WVJ blasts him away rather early. KO 5.
I think the thread starter should've ask "If Valera was still alive and never murdered his wife?" because if valera was alive, he would've gotten the death penalty or life in prison and still would do nothing in boxing.
Of course, thats what I meant. No need to nit pick.
who did he beat that made him so great???
He never got the chance to beat the best, but judging from his performances against the semi-elite fighters (Pitalua, Whyber, Mosquera, DeMarco), he def COULD have beaten or stood a chance against JMM or anyone else in the division.
If that says Ortiz then his artist is crap. Personally I think tribal tattoos are pretty cool, but I kind of believe that unless it has some relation to your heritage you shouldnt have one, meaning white guys probably shouldn't have them. Keep in mind I'm a white guy who from 17 to 21 wanted a tribal. Never got it. Still kind of want one in a way, but I just know down the road I'll be like "wtf was I thinking".
White guys should have Celtic cross/shamrock, Thor's hammer, Perun's sign. Perun was the god of thunder in Slavic mythology, so I'd get that tattoo if I was a boxer since I'm Slavic.
Ortiz would have to get Floyd out of there before the 10th...we have seen him get too comfortable against Peterson and give the victory away in the late rounds. I'm not sure wether Victor can stop Floyd before the 10th, Floyd's got a good chin and ofc there's that defense of his. And he better watch he doesn't get hit with those rights that sent him down against Berto twice.
James Kirkland is an honourable mention to that list. Knocking out most of his opponents, then losing to a feather fisted Ishida.
Crazy year of boxing up until now. No doubt we have a few more shocks coming. Mayweather '0' next?
I sure wouldn't mind!:lol1: Considering Kirkland, it WAS an upset, but considering he has been in jail for a year and it was his third fight in 2 months or something like that...an upset but not a shock upset.
Me too, that he'd finally come to terms with retirement.

Thats what I read. This Morales thing must be a rumor, ugly one. I would love to see it happen, but it doesn't look like it will. Boxrec doesn't post bs faux articles.
Its a fight of my dreams, since I really like both guys, but Morales is just too strong and good now for Ricky. Ricky should take a tune up first at least.
Alcine is Haitian-Canadian like Pascal.
And? He still sux, I like Pascal coz he can actually fight.:boxing: Generally, I'm not that crazy about Haitians, but in Pascal's case it doesn't matter that he's one.
Vic fakin knocks him out! Well...that may not be the most realistic scenario, but who knows? Perez hasn't been stopped-yet! If Vic should land a monster punch like the one that he koed Mijares with...:boxing:
Year of the upsets.
Nobodys safe.
You said it right there. I wouldn't be surprised if Rhodes pulled off an upset. Alvarez is still very young and inexperienced with title fights, Rhodes has had more of them.
canelo should win easy. rhodes is not that good at all, he hasn't beaten anyone and lost to gary lockett.
Correction: Rhodes IS good, he has beaten Jamie Moore, former Euro champ who stopped Matthew Macklin, and he lost a close decision to Lockett.
Forgot who promoted Lewis at that time. But whoever it is took a very wet and lumping fart while looking the KO. Not even DEPEND can block it.
  Well said!
