I think he'd be in possession of all 4 major belts at 135 by now. Dontcha think so? I mean Marquez is a gr8 fighter, but even he, at his age and everything, wouldn't be able to keep Valero from taking his title. I strongly doubt it. I believe even a PRIME JMM would have gr8 difficulties with Valero. El Inca was just a BEAST.:boxing:
He never got the chance to beat the best, but judging from his performances against the semi-elite fighters (Pitalua, Whyber, Mosquera, DeMarco), he def COULD have beaten or stood a chance against JMM or anyone else in the division.
Well thats his problem,Now he will be remebered as crack head woman
beater,Fck that puto
I think the thread starter should've ask "If Valera was still alive and never murdered his wife?" because if valera was alive, he would've gotten the death penalty or life in prison and still would do nothing in boxing.
Of course, thats what I meant. No need to nit pick.

who did he beat that made him so great???

He would have probably moved up to 140 hoping for a Pacquiao fight and would have walked through Bradley, Devon, Khan, Maidana with fuking ease.
Pacquiao vs Valero. Don't know if there is another single fight i would have wanted to see more than that.
One thing is certain, since his death he's been fuckin' overrated, to a disgustingly level too. I wouldn't say he'd beat those guys with certainty, no way.

valero's power was overrated
his boxing skills were not
he needed seasoning, but he was as talented as any man alive in boxing before he died
he would have made for tremendous fights
Wow some of you are highly overrating Valero seriously. Beating sub-par opponents and this guy has the nerve to think he can walk through the 140 division with ease..... He would've been pizza faced if he were up against some decent. Pacquiao would've put Valero in worse shape than Hatton.
