Terrible stoppage Juanma was still throwing punches. But when he wins the rematch no one will ever remember the first fight happen BS stoppage that ref should be fired on the spot
I am a fan of JuanMa but I'd rather see my fighter lose on a stoppage than get brutally knocked out. A brutal KO can damage a fighter mentally. It wasn't the best stoppage but as I've said, it's better than getting brutally KOed. I'm looking forward to their rematch, would be fireworks again for sure.
Just my 2 cents.
You know I watched it a couple times and it was a fine stoppage, JuanMa was swinging his arms but was unable to throw real shots and was taking alot of them from Salido.
Yep. And his feet was like buttery 1/2 of the time during that round. Rewind the video and you will see the REF was right on top of it. Probably save some permanent damage to the head.
;10392845']The stoppage reminds me of the DLH - Mayorga stoppage. Mayorga was clearly fighting back, but it was obvious he was out on his feet. Did anyone scream bad stoppage to that? Don't think so. Salido even knocked him down, and was hurting him real bad. It was a okay stoppage IMO.
yeah it was a ok stoppage but a little early. the ref should have let it continue to see if salido can finish him off.

ALWAYS...... I'm not a ref and even I know that.
Ref should've given Juanma the option to go out on his shield.
^^^this. no robbery just a premature stoppage.
If Juanma doesn't work on his defense he'll got cought with that overhand right again and be in trouble. The guys head is open for punchs wider then a football goal post. He needs to work on his punching sharpness and try and add some speed. A rematch would be 60-40 in Juanma's favor IMO.
Indeed.
Though, all he needed to do was keep his left up. Salido was really only getting him with the looping overhand right (a few left hooks, but not his money punch).
But you can't really tell Juanma to not engage, his style is coming forward, pressure, combos. Marquez almost had him last fight, and he's been almost had a few times before that for fighting just the way he fights.
As a champion, Juanma needs to learn the art of hugging when he is in trouble.
That is part of being an elite fighter. This is not a good way of fighting when hurt.

Nah man. Juanma was getting outclassed and clobbered in the ring and getting heavy damage to da cabeza. The ref probably prolonged his career. Keep in mind this was like the 8th rd. 3 more rds of damage like that and Juanma WOULD NEVER be the same again.
Juanma might no win the rematch cuz there might be none.Even if there were, Juanma needs to find a solution for those loopy hooks and uppercuts that was landing ALL NIGHT LONG. If Juanma was indeed affected by this marriage problem, then he will lose in a rematch. Man...Juanma LOOKS like F*cking sluggish in there. He didn't look good in the 1st road (the energy level is just way down despite better early going than his opponent).

You always say stupid sh*t. But I agree with the post and I don't think it was the a really bad stoppage.
I really do not have a problem with the ref calling it when he did. Juanma lives to fight another day. I do not think juanma would have been able to recover and overcome salido's gameplan even if the fight would have gone the distance which probably was not.
Props to salido.

Nah bro,Juanma was getting rocked. There was still alot of time left also.
Juanma punches werent doing nothing to salido as well.
It was a bad stoppage. Period.
Juanma wasn't defenseless. He was dazed, but not out of it. He went thru worse when he was out on his feet for an entire 12th round.

The stoppage was maybe a little early, but he did it to protect the fighter. At that point the fight was over, Juanma was done.
The ref did the right thing, no way in hell would juanma survive anyway, it would have been a nasty knock out. Now, juanma has less damage and will surely make a comeback to be a champion again. Mark my words.
Dude watch the fight see the that Juanma had nothing in hes punches and was getting hit flush the ref stepped in a fraction early in my opinion but id a hated to see 2 more minutes of Juanma getting hit like that if he could have taken it or not is speculation! and it doesn't matter the fighters need to be protected from themselves sometimes.
That is the corners job not the ref. The ref goes by the rule, still punching don't stop the fight.
