Yes it's obviously Floyd. He was getting ref/judges/media/corporate advantages, it's isnt a big jump tho think he was getting the absolute best info etc on testing and roiding without any risks
Check this new low point for *****'s!
Apparently now coming third means you can call yourself the Olympic champion!
P4P undisputed 3rd place Participation champion of the world.
You are proven casual, so nothing new here.
Maybe is boxing not for you. Both fights were top elite level. The second one was fantastic.
Bivol should fight Beterbiev again, yes, even if one belt misses on the line, who cares. Nobody cares about Benavidez right now.
It went beyond GGG-Canelo in terms of very high level competitive Boxing between the two undisputed best in their division. Bivol is so so smooth when he's flowing
Back in the golden age there were so many fights to look forward to. So many magnetic personalities in the sport and media too. Today boxing has eaten itself to death. There is no big fights that draw you in. Usyk has some flair but the only challenger that is exciting for him is a 20 year old kid. The biggest star in the sport is a 60 year old former champion who smokes weed every day. His rigged sparring session exhibitions generate more money than the current elites. Bud Crawford has a year or two left but nobody knows who he is. Boxing's funeral is coming soon and then the resurrection will occur after the sanctioning body mafias shutdown operations. Moses Itauma will save the sport and lead it into a new golden age while inspiring a new generation of future stars the same way Ali and Leonard did!!
Agree largely. Parker and Kabayel are decent opponents for Usyk though.
The lower weights have been gutted by Al Haymon/PBC behaviour. Its been so so awful for ten years now.
We saw against Stanionis that Boots is capable of mixing it with the top contenders. That fight with Lima last night was pointless, especially considering how inactive fighters are today.
Someone like Ortiz, Fundora, Bakhram, Zayas etc needs to be next. Hopefully the rumoured Ortiz fight gets made because it’s a great acid test for both.
Theres never been a fighter that has made me care less than Ennis. Hes running the early Crawford/Wilder career path and it is incredibly gay
I don't know.. prime Kov wasn't all that. He beat an old Hopkins.. Aside from that, he aint really beat anyone with a big name.
He let an old roider Hopkins get to the final round, then tried to kill him when he stuck his tongue out lol
He beat Ward in the first fight fair and square. That was a great win for Kova. 2nd fight was a great win for Ward too
I wasn't around for Ali. Never watched one of his fights live. Can't really comment on this. Usyk is unreal. And he hasn't dropped off at the end of his career and fought like a zombie with no feet.
I cant see Usyk losing to the Joe Fraziers or Ken Nortons of the world though.
And he would have embarrassed George Foreman so bad at any point of his career.
Well as long as Hrgovic takes his training seriously which he clearly did not after rolling Dubios in the gym only to see Dubois chin and guts hold up that night, and his stamina darined do to poor training... I would say it's a 50 / 50 fight for Hrgovic next year when Usyk is 39.
DDD took Hrgovic's bombs but not Usky's? Sometimes boxing logic does not apply.
But enough on that this is your thread on comparing Usyk to Ali is laughable.
Yes you can compare all time greats in the same division to each other.
Usyk only sits down on punches when he has you hurt. Dubois was a sitting duck like Bellew and Usyks precision is unmatched.
Honestly, Usyk would beat the most of them.
prove me I am wrong. You can´t so..
He'd whoop everyone of them with ease but lose to Lennox and maybe to Vitali, and im not really even sure about this because Usyk is so crafty and will adjust to anything.
Usyk is one of the greats
I think it could be the question is ridiculous on its face. Floyd had as many title fights as Usyk has fights. Usyk’s career isn’t over yet.
We get it- you hate Floyd because he clowned and beat Manny who you idolize. You keep trying to lower him with these type of threads.
How about asking if Usyk is the best ever boxer from Eastern European/Russian bloc countries?
This takes all the potential race garbage out of it and allows for a good discussion.
But asking about Floyd or Ali seems to be done specifically to get some kind of race war going.
Hardcore Boxing fans disagree.
Its oveR for Floyds legacy it seems.
yes, usyk is literally unbeatabke. Floyd was only unbeatable with gift decisions fighting in backyard, and only if he didn't fight ggg at 160, or Nelo without a cw, whilst green without rematches, etc etc You suggest floyd give rematch, you were greeted with either sarcasm, or excuses.?
I don't see a way floyd can be as great as usyk. Usyk literally done everything. Floyd never did anything you wanted him, whether it fight outside backyard, give rematch, or fight toughest available
This is what it boils down to for me. There's a crazy long list of guys everyone wanted Floyd to fight but he didn't. Loads of asterisks against his name. Not so with Usyk. He went towards the fire, Floyd retired and played business man many times.
the two fights vs fury were very close
heavyweight division is weak currently
i give the slight edge to floyd
I wouldnt say "Very" close.
Usyk won close-ish but clear fights. And in the first one he almost killed Fury in that 8th round I think.
One of the worst one-round beatings ever.
You do. The post is saved in poster Jedi Vader’s sig.
Why you gotta lie about it?
Floyd beat everyone you said he needed to become an ATG. Once he did, your hatred caused you to delete the post and then, as you do here, move the goalposts.
Too bad Floyd doing what you thought he couldn’t stripped you of what little manhood you have. Just admit you were wrong and give him the credit he earned.
You have no credibility.
the people have spoken. No real argument left to say that Floyd is the greatest fighter of this century
The world does…
Ali beat Frazier 2 out of the three times they fought…you don’t know boxing that’s why you should shut up before speaking…if you can read…do just a little research…enough to not hurt your brain…
“Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier fought each other three times in their professional boxing careers. Their first fight, known as the "Fight of the Century," took place in 1971, where Frazier won by decision. They then fought two more times, with Ali winning the second bout in 1974 and the third, the "Thrilla in Manila," in 1975“
Ali also fought 15 rounds back in those days without the technological advances in sports science today that Usyk gets to take advantage of with less rounds…never could he compare to Ali!!!…
“Joe Frazier won the first fight against Muhammad Ali, which was known as the "Fight of the Century". The fight took place on March 8, 1971, and Frazier won by unanimous decision after 15 rounds”
Frazier won the first fight by decision…Ali schooled him in the 2nd fight and busted his face until they had to stop it…in their third and final fight aka “The Thrilla In Manila” showing he can come back from adversity like a true champ!!!…Not claiming goat status off 8 fights against the Derek chisoras and dubious’ of the world…:lol1:

Frazier was a glorified light heavyweight with one punch in his arsenal. He was the 70s version of Beyonce Wilder lets be honest. And he still whooped prime Ali. is Frazier even 6ft? Usyk would annhilate any version of Ali
Floyd rematch Madonna to avoid Thurman
Yeah he did some totally fraudulent ducking and diving in his career no doubt. Usyk went towards the fire, never ran away
easily beating 5 all time greats Oscar Juan Mosley Saul Manny >>> going life and death with Briedis Buff Guy Joshua Fury
The devil is in the detail though.
Usyk came up to heavyweight as a small heavy and fought in his opponent's back yard every time, fighting any and every dangerous contender that he could get his hands on. Clearing out 2 weight divisions and becoming undisputed each time.
Floyd in the fights you mentioned there: i) Oscar was old as hell ii) Marquez he dragged up multiple weight divisions iii) Mosley at the very tail end of his career vi) Canelo was intentionally drained as fuck and green also v) Manny fight he was taking IV drips so cut tonnes of weight against a guy that started his career at minimum weight lol (he never wanted to fight Pac and basically claimed the Marquez 4 KO as his own, thinking that it was the end of the rivalry)
Floyd never unified, swerved many prime contenders that could have given fans the fights they wanted. Usyk showed real greatness. People's Champ
Haters think landing 26% of his shots is a winning recipe.
There is not sense in trying
Only tactic Miadana didnt try was kicking and head locking.
Maidana dis better than expected and roughed Floyd the hell up. But it was never really that close.
the fact Floyd was very very flustered and almost crying in his corner made people think that it was a draw or something. 8-4 Floyd iirc
I bolded the last paragraph for those uneducated in the history of boxing or lack respect…even the UK knows what’s up!!!…
Outside the ring, however, surpassing Ali’s legacy is far less likely. Ali’s political and cultural influence—his boldness, activism, and generational symbolism—elevated him beyond sport. Usyk, while a proud representative of Ukraine and a voice during wartime, has not had the same global cultural footprint.

Who cares about outside the ring?
Ali lost to Joe Frazier lol
You'll never get an unbiased answer our of Americans regarding this.
I think Usyk beats any version of Ali, whether or not he is "greater" i dont know.
Usyk is a different breed of heavy. A southpaw that can move like this with precision like that and the intelligence to adjust to anything you can throw at him gives anyone fits.
Still think Lennox woukd beat him. And Vitali vs Usyk would be a very very close fight too.
nobody thought Usyk would be able to go undefeated at heavy. No one. All this "its a weak era" stuff is BS because he came up from cruiser and was never expected to be the top dog at heavy
Usyk is a feather fisted technician who is good at beffudling big stiff useless boxers with no stamina or chins who don't want to be in there.
The greats of the past would not fall for his BS and would stick it on him and force him into a firefight which he would not win.
We would just keep them at distances and pepper them like.he always does. No chance in.hell Frazier Norton or Foreman beat Usyk lol come on now.
Lennox is the onyl guy I can see that would beat him.
For years GGG was billed as this monster, but when Canelo stepped to him he showed he wasn’t as effective on the back foot.
Is Usyk a more advanced fighter than GGG ever was?
Yes I think so. GGG was also mis managed big time, resulting in the wasting of his prime.
Also he beat Canelo in that first first pretty clean for me.
People are way off about this fight. Canelo doesn’t have a chance in hell. Way too slow. Crawford will control him with the jab and punish him to the body for the first time in his career. Crawford is too hungry for this win and is better in every way. This is the Spence fight all over again, except Canelo “MIGHT” make it to the final bell due to his size.
In reality, Canelo is the one cashing out here. Dude doesn’t even look like he wants to be there.
This fight will be a one-sided embarrassment, just like the Spence fight.
yeah i thought so too before the fight. No version of Canelo beats Crawford.
Crawford is a beast and takes on big challenges. respect to him
