We saw against Stanionis that Boots is capable of mixing it with the top contenders. That fight with Lima last night was pointless, especially considering how inactive fighters are today.
Someone like Ortiz, Fundora, Bakhram, Zayas etc needs to be next. Hopefully the rumoured Ortiz fight gets made because it’s a great acid test for both.
Boots was clearly levels above Stanionis. He’s unquestionably a talented fighter and capable of mixing it with top contenders i.e Ortiz, Fundora, Murtazaliev etc.
Thats been the case since since he first came on the scene. Yet til this day, hes ducked, or turned down/refused big fights offered.
Last night, Ennis said he wants all the smoke from all the the top contenders and titleholders at 154. I believe Ortiz, Fundora or Zayas all lack the firepower to even compete or seriously threaten Jaron “Boots” Ennis. I think that Bakhram Murtazaliev stands the best chance of defeating him.
Hes yung doe....
Floyd was 28 in his 34th fight, just like Ennis.
His next 15 fights after the Gatti fight:
W vs Sharmba Mitchell TKO 6
W vs Zab Jubah UD 12
W vs Carlos Baldomir UD 12
W vs Oscar De La Hoya SD 12
W vs Ricky Hatton TKO 10
W vs Juan Manuel Marquez UD 12
W vs Shane Mosley UD 12
W vs Victor Ortiz KO 4
W vs Miguel Cotto UD 12
W vs Robert Guerrero UD 12
W vs Canelo Alvarez MD 12
W vs Marcos Maidana MD 12
W vs Marcos Maidana UD 12
W vs Manny Pacquiao UD 12
W vs Andre Berto UD 12
What do you think the odds are that Boots is about to go on a similar 15 fight run?
I bet not very high.
No actually I think he should be more active by fighting a string of cans to get to 51-0 and then start calling himself TBE.
What a retarded comparison.
Are you diagnosed with learning difficulties or just really dumb?
I wasn't saying it was anyone's doing. It's dumb how you can't type "stoopid" and the fact that the website generally sucks now. Of course we want the best to fight the best. I just don't see Bud mixing it up with either of them. He's 38 and got that Canelo paycheck. Motivation might not be there, unless it's for another undisputed at 160.
Oh my bad I mistook your message. I get your point with the latter its more the selfish fan in me needing to see this fight.
This is the #1 fight in boxing that I must somehow see.
I only want Boots/Bud/Ortiz.
Boots/Bud vs the other names being thrown about are comical mismatches.
You seem to have got very excited by a KO1 mismatch. I suggest taking a breath before you continue posting.
The obscene amount of weight classes and the manipulation of them isn't my doing or the websites. I just want to see the best fight the best, they are literally the exact same size.
They could meet in the middle at 160 or figure something out I am sure.
They are naturally the same size and clear as day the best so I want to see them fight to settle who really is the true #1, I don't think I am asking for much or anything we shouldn't expect as paying customers.

There's no way Bud gets thrown into the mix, unless those guys move up again. Having Bud cut much weight after putting that much on for Canelo would be ******. * Stoopid. Jesus this website ****ing sucks now.

Ortiz will continue to duck via injuries and made up illnesses, as he did at 147, and for 2.5 years at 154
Ortiz has fought good opposition at 154. My gripe is that GBP doesn't seem interested in forcing Fundora into the ring. Is GBP ducking Fundora? That is a possibility. But I think the match-up hasn't occurred because Ortiz/Fundora doesn't draw enough for both parties.
I only want Boots/Bud/Ortiz.

Fans can be fickle and impatient. The sport lets us down continuously, and the boxers sometimes get the brunt of our frustration. I wanted a better debut opponent than Lima, but it served a greater purpose as an eliminator turned interim title shot. I'll only get frustrated if Ennis becomes inactive and starts waiting for other guys. It may not have been all his fault, but he seemed too quiet/passive at 147lb. When a fighter gets with a bigger promotional company, fans will start to expect more from them. I do agree that some fans are too biased or uninformed to distribute blame equally, but Ennis has a lot of hype behind him right now, and high expectation always follows. He and Hearn need to stop marketing the Ortiz fight and instead make sure they have a plan B signed (a fight with Baraou). I'm sure some will complain that Baraou isn't a big enough name, but there's no reason why Ennis should be out for 6+ months after last night's devastating performance. Some may not want to hear this, but I don't think the Ortiz fight is big enough for Ennis to sit down and wait. Ortiz hasn't proven to have mega marquee value, and he hasn't won a full title yet. If MR believes Ennis is a star in the making, then they shouldn't be playing second fiddle to GBP/Ortiz.
Ennis - Baraou is a perfectly fine Plan B. Baraou is TBRB top ten and it would at least consolidate the WBA situation in the division.
Like you, I had no major issue with the Boots - Lima fight by and of itself. Given it ended in one round there's no reason for a long lead time to Boots' next fight. Let's see something in the calendar quickly.

Boots vs major world title winners (no secondary or interim) after 34 fights:
W vs Sergey Lipinets KO 6
W vs Eimontas Stanionis RTD 6
Floyd vs major world title winners after 34 fights:
W vs Genaro Hernandez RTD 8
W vs Gregorio Vargas UD 12
W vs Diego Corrales TKO 10
W vs Carlos Hernandez UD 12
W vs Jesus Chavez RTD 9
W vs Jose Luis Castillo UD 12
W vs Jose Luis Castillo UD 12
W vs DeMarcus Corley UD 12
W vs Arturo Gatti RTD 6
Floyd accomplished more through this point in his career than Ennis ever will. By a lot.
Why is all this pressure on a guy who just came to the division and not on guys that have been in the division for years? Y'all just making it clear that Boots is the best to do it. Only the best get held to high standards.

What are you talking about?
Ortiz took heat for ducking Murtazaliev, as he should.
Fundora took heat for ducking Crawford and Murtazaliev, as he should.
I think Haney’s movement might give Norman a lot of trouble. If Norman is the truth I feel like this is a fight he should win. How do you see it going?
If Haney fights the way he fought against Ramirez he'll probably lose. He has to engage at some point, even if he picks his spots. Ramirez is years past being washed so Haney being that scared against him doesn't bode well.
If Haney fights at his very best he can win, but I don't know if he's all there mentally. Never should have taken that Garcia fight after the weight debacle.

Norman was and is considerably better than Stanionis. But I think he turned down the Boots fight.
But Boots has already ducked both Crawford and Ortiz himself
