the entire idea behind this thread is stupid.
for this "who has the better accuracy" argument to have any merit, you would first need the premise that compubox is a perfectly (or close to it) accurate measure of punches landed and missed.
any fan of boxing can tell you this is not the case, and compubox is not completely accurate. compubox is a computer program. who enters these punch numbers into the program? someone watching the fight enters these numbers, hence human error enters the equation.
with something as high paced as pacquiao's punches, do you think a human watching the fight LIVE (on normal speed) can accurately judge ALL of the MISSED and LANDED punches? if you think so, frankly you are quite dumb.
mayweather's stats would be easier to track and thus his compubox numbers would likely be closer to the truth than pacquiao's, as he throws far fewer combinations.
so you guys just spent 70 pages debating something that is not even a fully accurate tool in the first place, and many of you arguing over a few % difference between the two? retarded.
/end thread
is this a joke? the same Juanma that lost to Salido twice, last time being viciously KO'd? do you have any idea what that does to a hyped fighter, losing twice to a guy being labeled a "journeyman"?
I don't think Juanma will beat ANYONE in the top 5 of the division
Very true... And with Mannys stock dropped, Bob now has a reason to continue to short change Manny while lining his pockets. (Sorry Manny, the money just ain't there no more).
Manny gonna have to make a choice, leave damn near broke & hope he can get some cash fites on his own, or keep getting screwed and try to save his chips.
Manny near broke? Where are you getting this, you are the definition of a moron. He made $60 something million this year, he must be broke lol. He has massive endorsements with Nike that would make him set for life alone even if you took away all the money he has made from fighting.
Yes, he beat the man.
(Let's see what other people say)
he lost every round but 1, he got dominated and pacquiao is wayyyy past it now he has zero chance against mayweather i dont care about that fight anymore.
I dont do that 2nd replay thing. After reading the forums and building up specific bias, you're gonna score rounds differently then before
This shows with almost everybody having it a closer fight then when viewing it live. Why is that?
good point. and i will tell you why. most of these people don't like pac or are floyd fanboys so they tell you on the 2nd watch without the biased commentary they could see bradley winning more rounds or even winning the fight which is so sad its not even laughable.
in any event, it was a boring fight and pac is not the same as he used to be. i really miss the pac from morales/DLH/Hatton/Cotto days, that guy was a monster. the current pac is good but nothing like the old pac, this pac gets dominated by mayweather in a close-to shutout victory, i think old pac would have overwhelmed mayweather with his storms of punches and non stop aggression and volume
Bradley did absolutely NOTHING. NOTHING. I watched it 3 more times just to make sure. I cant give points to people who dont land cleanly, dont land the more effective power punches and looked like they were backing off when they couldnt handle the heat.
I thought Bradley's movement would give Manny trouble. It didnt. I thought Manny's defense was pretty good also - by his standards.
Manny should just retire from boxing and not reward a loser like Bradley with more money he doesnt deserve.
I'd like to see Bradley vs. Khan next.
I agree strongly with everything you said.
Bradley vs. Khan is no risk for Khan because Bradley wont be able to hit that somewhat soft jaw of Khan's hard enough to hurt him, but he would still make it very competetive and I think it would be decent to watch. I think Khan's speed and power advantages would be too much, and a very similar outcome to the Pacquiao fight with Khan possibly stopping Bradley.
I wish Pac would fight someone else like Ortiz rather than a rematch since he won so clearly, but it will def happen anyways
so are you saying pac should not use defense
his offense used to be his defense, but he has slowed down and is not the whirlwind hurricane force he used to be
call me crazy, but ever since this alleged steroid scandal, mannys past 2 fights he has looked awful. watching 24/7 he looks weaker, and his heart does not seem in it as much, regardless of what bs his camp is spewing at any given moment. bradley is young, strong, and hungry, and does not seem to be intimated by pacquiao, based on his latest showings, and he has the skill and resilience to beat him. pac is not exactly super difficult to figure out, so if tim can handle his power (which appears to not be there as much as it once was), he is going to rip him apart, because he has equal, if not better, stamina, and better skills. only thing pac has over tim nowadays is power. that is how tim will beat him
any other questions?
besides his HUGE advantage in power (bradley has about as much power as the great paulie malignaggi), he is much faster, much more accurate, uses angles better...want more?
pac throws sharp straight punches, bradley throws wide wild punches.
i will break this fight down. early rounds, bradley will play it safe like he always does (they said this would be the strat even in the faceoff), he will try to fight like marquez did and counter pac. he will do alright with this, but he is no marquez and he will not be as effective and will be losing the rounds due to pac being more active and landing more.
after 3-4 rounds of this, bradley switches his gameplan and tries to bullrush pac head first with wide flurries. pac catches bradley with shots right through the middle and upper cuts like he did Cotto when he got wild, Bradley hits the canvas once or twice but doesn't run because he has a lot of heart and will.
joel diaz or the ref will save him from taking a career ending beatdown.
any other questions?
First view thought Pac won a close fight. Second view thought Bradley won a close fight. Depends on if you believe flurrying at the end of rounds is enough to outweigh outboxing a guy for the first 2 minutes or so of every round. Not to mention people seem to have this notion that Bradley was ever really stunned or hurt, and I never saw it.
bradley never even landed one significant shot the whole damn fight, god people are stupid. pac was smiling and laughing everytime bradley tried to throw. all bradley threw were pathetic arm jabs with no snap. maybe landed a few decent body shots but nothing remotely close to hurting pac or making him take steps back like marquez did in all 3 of their fights.
i don't even want to see bradley fight again to be honest. he was scared of pac and went with the marquez blueprint of backing up and counterpunching but he is not good at it.
when i first watched it i gave bradley the 11th round. when i rewatched it i gave him the 11th and 12th. he should get no more than 2 rounds, 3 is pushing it, and 4 is just retarded. there is no possible ****ing way he won 4 rounds.
I asked Bob Arum, if no Pacquiao-Mayweather develops, who's next for Pac-Man? He indicated @boxermikejones would be at top of list! #Philly
From Harry Mayes twitter.... Pac better win this fight now
War Philly!!!!
Next year Danny Garcia and Mike Jones at the top of their divisions undefeated!
no Danny Garcia will get demolished by Khan, and who Mike Jones? Who? Mike Jones? Who? Mike Jooones.
but seriously, Pac will not be fighting Mike Jones lol no one will buy that ****
if you agree Lederman's card and gave Manny 11 rounds like those dickriders on HBO did then you don't get to critique the judges cards
he won only one round, i was in real sports bar (prolly about 1000 people inside), and all of them were losing their minds over the decision. even all of the black people that were behind me were like ... wtf just happened bradley hardly won a round
I agree with most of you that the show is getting a bit stale. However, I would much rather have them do it for big fights than not. It builds hype which is good for the sport, and whatever I still enjoy it (makes it seem like a bigger thing than just a fight).
I would like to see a 24/7 with Khan in it because I don't know much about him outside boxing(but then again it would be a lot of Roach and Ariza which are kind of stale too)
Mayweather looks more comfortable with Mr.Jackson than Ms.Jackson...
No doubt lol. Their relationship is so awkward and fake. She is clearly just a sexy trophy wife.
Thoughts on Episode 2 of 24/7...
What did you guys think about it? Anything cool you noticed you liked, or things that bugged you?
I liked the first episode better overall, but this one was pretty good too. It showed almost no training and boxing but focused on more of their lives outside the ring.
I really liked the end where Floyd was talking about who he would have to take with him if he were to go to war, got me pumped (and he said he would take his father because he has a kill or be killed attitude just like himself, mad respect.)
Another thing I would like to know about how you guys feel is when Floyd was talking in his "Speaking Out" show about how commentators (like Merchant) are boxing experts calling fights for HBO but have no actual boxing experience (never fought or trained for boxing). I agree with him that in order to have true insight into a sport (not just boxing) you need to have competed. Sure Merchant has watched boxers for 50 years but he has never fought and when this is the case you miss a lot of subtleties and things going on that they can never understand. What do you guys think about this?
It was also funny how he dissed Cotto's "team loyalty" notion by saying how real loyalty is what he and roger have - no contract, been going for 16 years and from the heart. This was actually a good diss that was logical (rare from Floyd lol).
wasn't their face off with max April 1st (yesterday)? I checked on youtube but only found a link for a face off preview like 1 minute long. was wondering if any of you guys had the full link?
lol you guys read way too much into things like this, basically irrelevant. mayweather and cotto will be fighting, the better fighter will win. that's all there is to it.
i find it funny how they were showing clips of cotto going out having a good time with his family, his wife and kids and close friends then when the camera turns to floyd all u see is floyd ranting about something else.
another funny part was when miss jackson kept going on and on about how floyd and her have this special bond but she doesnt give any insight to us on what her special bond with floyd is LOL.. just kept saying we have a special bond. then miss jackson looks hella annoyed when floyd started talking about his father, mayweather sr. LOL..
lol she has a special bond in that now she has a lot of money and can bond more with the new purse she can buy
Re was no power on that kd, thats for sure.
that knockdown didn't look like a very hard shot to me, it was a a flash knockdown cause the guy was off balance after throwing. he came at silakh right after didn't appear hurt at all. he doesnt sit down on his punches at all they are just little snappy arm punches. it looks like he could, hes clearly the much better fighter, but hes too hesitant
pretty boring fight so far, silakh doesnt seem to have much power. he has good movement and defense though. too many boring defensive fighters being shown lately lol
and atlas need to chill with the boxing-other sports anaologies he pulls them out of his ass and most are so dumb and it is like trying to appeal to the intellect of a retard. not all boxing fans are brainless
Its not excuses, he won the fight easily against cotto.
But it's fact that he did have the flu and an injury.
Hell no he did not win the fight easily, it was almost an even fight. The only respectable scores would be 115-113 or 116-112 Floyd.
Why are people putting Canelo on their lists? How does a win over Canelo add any credentials to Floyd's ATG status? Canelo has beat absolutely NOBODY up to this point for Floyd to get any credit for beating him. And no he's not a top 10 ATG to me.
ya i was thinking the same thing, Canelo really? (his best win is a 40 year old shot Mosley there for the paycheck). in my opinion, the best looking wins for floyds resume would be 1. pacquiao 2. martinez 3. khan (he might not be great, but he is very popular and many think he will be or is great)
i think all of those are winnable fights for floyd but each one of them would be harder for him than any fight he has currently had. and we all know the chances of him fighting these 3 before he retires are crazy low
Haye is FASTER than Chris Byrd ever was, Haye didnt get hurt once vs Wlad.
Haye is only 31 right now, if he stays active for the next two years he will be an unstoppable monster at age 33.
Remember he had only 4 fights at HW before meeting Wlad, imagine how dangeroushe's going to be with experience.
lmao British dickriders are great. he was not hurt by Wlad because he ran the entire fight scared to be hit...oh ya i forgot he had a toe injury LOL
Toneys TKO win over Holyfield >> Michaelzweski's whole resume.
Yes, this ^^^. Toney's win over Holyfield is better than Darius whole career. I don't care how many title defences he had against bums and RJJR leftovers. He didn't have half the ability of Toney.
Toney could have been one of the greatest. In his prime he had a defense second to none (maybe Mayweather, but very comparable). He has a ****ing granite chin and pure badass mentality. He would fight anyone and arguably (except at middle and super middleweight) never trained like a champion does.
He wasted a lot of talent and STILL is considered great, that shows you a lot.
Dont be daft.
He may well be respected more by some people, but not the way you make it sound.
All in all, you can hate on Hamed however much you want, but you have to respect the natural talent and pure excitement he brought to the sport. Boxing is crying out for another Prince Naseem, sadly i highly doubt we'll ever see one again.
I agree Naz was good for boxing, because of his style and clowning he was exciting. But I laughed back then and until this day at people who thought he was one of the best. You can only get so far fighting like he did, and when he fought a great fighter, he got beaten soundly and badly.
I didn't even hate Hamed. I thought he was fruity and lame but I knew he was doing it for entertainment (like Floyd does but in a different way).
Ask anyone who they respect more as a fighter and I doubt anyone outside UK says Naz is more respected than Toney in boxing.
