I'm half expecting Floyd to announce he is fighting Khan on the day of eid which is either going to be this Friday or Saturday. It'll be something along the lines of "Eid Mubarak to all my muslim fans around the world, I will be fighting Amir Khan on September 12" :D
Enjoyed watching the interview
If it is Khan that is next then it's clear he doesn't know yet judging by his comments that he feels Mayweather is showing a lack of respect by keeping his opponent in the dark even though he has started training himself. I am a Floyd fan as you can tell by my username but I think Khan has a valid point here. He needs to show a bit of class here if it's true that his hasn't told his opponent he is fighting them next.
If the plan is still to fight on September 12 then it really is ridiculous that the fight hasn't been announced fight no matter what side of the fence you're on. I'm starting to get the feeling he won't be fighting next month.

Latest on @FloydMayweather talks is the deal is not done yet. Will go into next week. They're still aiming for Sept. 12.

"Very doubtful," that today is deal day for @FloydMayweather. Compromising continues in @Canelo @RealMiguelCotto talks.
I would think that whoever he is fighting already knows it and they are already making their preparations and they're just waiting to announce it. I agree with you though, they are running out of time for promotions and stuff like that - unless he really is fighting someone like Mayfield and they just don't care.
If it is Khan then he isn't giving anything away. He was in my neck of the woods on the weekend on tour to raise money for an orphanage he is building in Gambia. I asked him whether the fight with Mayweather was going to happen and he joked by saying "If the fight doesn't happen me and you will fight instead." :lol1: Came across as a really cool guy. He also said he'll find another opponent if it doesn't happen.

I can't believe it's not been announced yet.
It HAS to be this weekend.
Me neither. It's getting a bit ridiculous now. A couple of days ago Lance pugmire of the LA Times said to expect a decision within the next week.
Mayweather has huddled this week with his powerful manager Al Haymon to discuss the situation, and officials familiar with it say they expect his decision ***8220;within the next week.***8221;

Golovkin you mentioned something about Floyd and his dad getting into an argument over the his potential fight with Khan. Did you see it yourself or is this what Mayweather sr told you?
It's the logical fight IMO.
Mayweather will get a ton of money whoever is his last opponent in September however I do feel Khan makes more financial sense than Garcia and Thurman. I'd imagine Floyd would do a press tour in the UK too which would be good for UK based fans like myself. :D
He should fight Brook instead.
I agree. It makes obvious sense. I just think Khan sees it as a big risk. Lose that fight and out and gone goes the chance to fight Manny or May.

And, of course, now told there's still work to do on some far-apart TV issues but plan is for @SHOsports and @HBOboxing to reconvene Thurs.

@YankWriter @SHOsports @HBOboxing as long as they keep working, they'll get it done. But it's a white-knuckle ride all the way...
Floyd Mayweather v Manny Pacquiao bout moves closer
14 January 2015
Last updated at 23:22
A long-awaited welterweight bout between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao appears to have edged closer.
Fred Sternburg, Pacquiao's agent, denied reports the Filipino had agreed terms on a 2 May meeting in Las Vegas.
But he told BBC Sport: "There is still a long way to go. At least the movement has been in a positive direction."
Eight-division world champion Pacquiao, 36, and unbeaten American Mayweather, 37, are considered the best fighters of their generation but have never fought.
Filipino Pacquiao is the holder of the WBO belt, while Mayweather is the WBC and WBA champion.
But they have never been able to agree a deal over a bout, with one stumbling block being Mayweather's insistence on a strict blood-testing programme during training.
Pacquiao has said those demands cast him in a bad light as a suspected cheat.

Why are people saying Manny is winning the poll when 41% of the people that have voted have picked Mayweather to win by UD/SD? It really is simple maths
Adviser: Manny Pacquiao being updated on Floyd Mayweather Jr. talks
Lem Satterfield
December 31, 2014
Manny Pacquiao was updated this morning on ongoing negotiations for a potential May 2 bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr., according to Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz.
“We’re still in negotiations with Floyd’s group through Top Rank. I spoke to Manny this morning. I gave Manny what is perceived to be a counter offer from the Mayweather people,” said Koncz, who then referred to Top Rank CEO Bob Arum.
“We discussed it and now I’ve given instruction to Bob to counter their counter. We’ve been going back and forth. Bob has been negotiating with the powers that be on Floyd’s side for the past couple of weeks. There’s been offers and counter offers, and a couple of days ago Bob called me and gave me allegedly where Floyd’s side is, and I discussed that with Manny two hours ago.
“Now I’ve given Bob our response to that. I’m never overly optimistic until the contract is signed, but the good thing is that we’re still going back and forth.”
During an interview on Showtime on Dec. 12, Mayweather said that he “would love to fight Manny Pacquiao” on May 2. Click here for Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s full video interview with Steve Farhood
“Mayweather can get the amount he wants,” Pacquiao responded on Dec. 16. “Money is not the issue in our fight.”
On Wednesday, Pacquiao delivered a final word for 2014 to Mayweather on his Twitter account.
“The ball will drop at midnight to usher in 2015,” read Pacquiao’s message. “@Floyd Mayweather, let’s not not drop the ball on fighting each other next year! #LetsMakeFistory.”
Mayweather is currently aligned with Showtime, having fought four of six bouts stipulated by a multimillion-dollar agreement he signed with the network and its parent company, CBS Corporation.
Officials from Showtime and HBO, the latter of which has televised most of Pacquiao’s fights, have reportedly discussed a joint venture between the networks similar to that which facilitated the fight between Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson in June 2002.
Lewis scored an eighth-round stoppage victory over Tyson in the bout. Lewis and Tyson were affiliated with HBO and Showtime, respectively, at the time. Key aides are reportedly working for Mayweather and Pacquiao, with CBS Corporation Chief Executive Leslie Moonves bringing the two sides together.
