So we know that if you're a possible pick in a Floyd's fight you should train ahead by now. But the real question is, can you really train as hard as you can knowing that you don't really know or have an inkling if you got the chance to get picked?
What if Thurman or Porter or kell, who truly does not expect it, had been chosen and didn't really actually train ahead? Who's the loser again here? We fans huh? Because at the end of the day, Thurman can say he only trained for a month to fight floyd while floyd has been grinding the gym like a stallion for 3 months ahead knowing fully well who he is intending to fight with.
berto? is this some kind of sick joke???
Aside from the few posters here who would pay to watch Floyd bathe, we all wish it was a sick joke. Unfortunately it seems as if its the case.
Maybe but there's obviously something going on behind the scenes for this fight not to have been made official by now.
Mayweather's FB face is posting the date is set and asking people to book tickets. Sound pretty solid to me. We all know most of Floyd's popularity/notoriety stems from his character and the date he fights on, he needs that built in fanbase and you get that on September 12th.
I would imagine he does know he's fighting Floyd and has done for some time.
Yea, I guess by now Berto probably knows for certain that it's him.
It'd be weird if Floyd picks Khan now. But if Khan doesn't take the fight, it's understandable.... A 5 week notice is just not enough to do a 4 and a 1/2 week training camp....
It's pretty ridiculous and unfair to his opponent that the fight still hasn't been announced.
Berto might be training hard but does he know for certain that he's fighting Floyd?

What helps is that fight fans will be there for the Box Fan Expo which will have a lot of legends and current fighters in attendance at the Convention Center. A lot more people will be interested in that than the card on September 12th.
What's so funny is that Floyd doesn't really care who he fights in this one and doesn't care what anyone thinks of it. He made his money in the Pac fight.

Yep. TMT card it is...Ashley Theophane may be on it as well but we will wait and see
I would guess as an untelevised undercard or showtime extreme fight
Confirmed Vanes/Ishe

No he's fighting then... they have everything in line they just haven't announced it yet. I heard they're gonna do it Thursday

If Ishe Smith and Badou Jack are fighting on that date then surely Floyd is?
Unless they put a TMT card on one of the biggest dates in the year for Boxing (unlikely)

Mayweather is clearly just looking to collect his last Check with CBS/Showtime...then once he is a Free Agent that open up a lot of possibilities if he choose to continue to fight. Maybe he fights Cotto if he beats Canelo, maybe they do Mayweather vs Pacquiao 2 without the Network Drama this time around
I don't think he cares about anything for this fight, his last fight shattered every record possible so I think he could careless what type of numbers this fight does if they even put it on PPV
But clearly it is Berto!
I just dont see Showtime allowing Floyd to pick any opponent he chooses at the cost of them taking a massive loss. Especially since Haymon pretty much screwed them over in addition to this being Floyd's last fight on his contract.
well in reality that time slot on saturday nights isnt in that big of a demand. whatever reruns theyre showing can be cancelled.
Doesn't matter if Sat night is in big demand or not. And Sat night gets decent numbers.
Theoritically they MIGHT be able to cancel what they are showing. It may not be reruns, and that would make it completely impossible, contracts are already in place.
And practically it's absolutely not possible to sell commercial space for a prime time event on Sat night a month away. And if you are not getting ad money, what is the point? No way is it going to be on CBS.
It's a ppv show. Or it just might, perhaps be on Sho but not PPV. Even that seems incredibly unlikely.
