Was this before Fox started to air the NFL and MLB?
The big game changer on Fox was when In Living Color went head to head with the Super Bowl at halftime in 1991 and killed the NFL in ratings... the next year the NFL got Michael Jackson to perform at halftime and the the Super Bowl Halftime Show was born.
Lubin doesn't want a hard touch unless it is for a belt.
No trainer can help J-Rock to beat Jermell.
He'll continue to get KOd at the top level. He'll he thinks Gausha was a top ten 154 player.
A guy at my job was talking about the Tyson-Jones fight.
So I mention to him, "What about the Charlo Bros fight? It's a real fight this weekend."
He said he'd never heard of them, and we're in Houston.
Even when common folk get into fights, they don't want to admit they're hurt or that they lost.
Of course a professional boxer won't want to admit the same thing.
Who do you think Lubin can beat outta all of them?
I think he beats Vargas, Brook, Teixeira, Soro, Smith an possibly Williams!
Not sure how he beats Hurd, Lara, Harrison and Castaño!
Didn’t mention the top champs cuz they both would be favored to stop Lubin especially Charlo again!
I don't think Lubin beats any of them really. I was looking for Lubin to come out and put on a show but he stunk up the joint until the last 5 rounds and in the last 5 (when the fight really started) he lost 2 of the rounds and got wobbled.
List the ten you have above Gausha.
Champs
Charlo
Rosario
Teixeira
Lara
Hurd
Harrison
Williams
Castano
Michel Soro
Liam Smith
Kell Brook and Jessie Vargas if fighting at 154.
And probably the young kid Fondura as well.
Gausha loses to all of them.
I heard if Canelo gets off his contract Dana White will offer him an insane deal for Zuffa boxing and could pair him with Conor McGregor in a super fight. Dana also has a great working relationship with Al Haymon and Floyd Mayweather.
An insane deal, like the one he just signed and got him in trouble.
Nope. J-Rock next for the winner.
Williams is searching for new trainer. He ain't ready for Charlo.
Lubin need to fight like Justin DeLoach next or even that huge kid who dominated Gallimore.
**** if I know. I look at when Navarrete last fought on boxrec and it's all no contests. Would be odd to have a triple header of title matches that are not sanctioned.
Unsanctioned because in Mexico?
If unsanctioned, can't be a title match because the matches will be unofficial.
Pacquiao or Crawford are the preference.
If he can't get either one, then Thurman, Ugas, or a Porter rematch would be acceptable. Ugas should've gotten the decision against Porter and he's due a big fight.
Thurman-Ugas is next (January I believe) than I see Spence vs the winner.
Spence probably fights Josesito in Lopez in the meantime (March.)
Just OK I doubt it did big numbers with UFC happening at the same time
Social Media was talking and buzzing mostly about Adesanya vs Costa so I'm sure that fight likely cracked 1 Million Buys or very close to it
Surprisingly no one on my social media was talking about the UFC fight.
One person mentioned "fight" but in their comments said it was the Charlo PPV.
About 5 or 6 other people mentioned the Charlo fight as well.
The same amount menntioned college football.
A few less mentioned the Lakers-Nuggets series.
I'd say between 100-150k
I'd be shocked if it did more.
I hope we see him soon too. I'm a fan.
No clue where, when or who he'll be fighting next doe. I heard similar as is being mentioned about a title fight but that seems forever ago now.
I think the problem is it was supposed to land on a Golden Boy card back in April.
GB only has 2 more cards they're doing this year.
So, if it doesn't land on their next card then who knows.
Fight may go to oblivion.
I don't know who Ranger is but I've seen him report on things right before a guy like Coppinger or Fat Dan would get to it.
He's even called out Coppinger on it before ...
Take that for what you will.
Boxing was getting over 2 million viewers on HBO back then. You can't even get that many on free tv nowadays. PPV has significantly reduced boxing's fanbase and things will continue to get worse the higher the barriers of entry are for consuming premium boxing.
WWE and UFC do an event each month.
Boxing is also available on basic TV and cable/premium now. More than it was just 5 years ago.
So, they have a few (between 3 and 5 events the past few years) I don't get what all the fuss is about.
Those numbers are actually respectable considering their opponents.
They will actually increase with the level of opponents and a co-main event (that's if they continue to come as a package deal.)
He IS in the Mix at 154! He is Top 5-10 in that Division for sure
Just waiting for the WBO who are dragging things out when it comes to his shot for the WBO
What's your 154 rankings?
1 Charlo
2 Teix
3 Lara
4 Castana
5 Hurd
6 Rosario
7 Harrison
8 Williams
9 Lubin
10 Funduro
