after pacman and el terrible's superbout, whose loss/gain will be greater? (say a win and a loss through TKO)
a pacman loss: well he's still young and obviously he's still gonna be the biggest show in boxing, although it may go down. his sky-rocket career could trim down, but there's still a very bright opportunity for a rematch against Barrera and Marquez, but i think no more from Morales. he's still good.
a pacman win: this will totally reorder the pound 4 pound ratings. he can climb up at no. 2 the very least. a career boomer no question about it. he'll be the biggest boxing sensation after the fight.
a morales loss: he's already established himself as one of the best boxers mexico ever produced. nonetheless 2 straight losses could cause him something. but i think he'll catch bigger fishes in the future once he goes up to lightweight, where there he could be king.
a morales win: it won't be much of a talk. it will just take away the loss from marco antonio barrera and nothing more. it will also mean a climb in the P4P ratings. he's already getting paid big.
biggest loss: Pacman
biggest gain: Pacman
Interesting conclusion there,,,,
Now this fight puzzles me, Before I would have picked Morales easy becuz of his toughness and Pacquaio's the more vulnerable fighter....but Pacquaio has hurt Barrera (something Morales failed to do) and also gave Marquez (who i think is even more put togetha than Barrera and Morales) hell......wouldnt be surprised of Pacquaio stops Morales.
Though many would argue your point (that since Pac beat Barrera he would have a good chance on beating Erik, who lost recently to Barrera), you are right in thinking that the fight could go either way. There are even some who predict a draw but by the nature of both fighters (both being sluggers), I wouldn't bet on the fight going the full distance.
I am also rooting for Pacman but hope both fighters come out with something left.
I'm sure they will . They're both great warriors and there will never be true losers in this fight. Both will surely come out of this fight better experienced boxers
Quick math formula for you guys:
Top Rank + Vegas = Morales victory
Morales will lose 8 of the 12 rounds, then receive a gift decision or possibly a draw.
That's why its important that Pac finishes him off before 12.
I tend to agree with this formula..... Remember the JMM fight guys ??
No it was sarcasm, I do believe he will give Barrera trouble. Not trouble in that it will be hard for Marco to get a decision but it will take a couple of feeler rounds to get him going.
LOL. i thought you were serious :D :p
Fana decisions Barrera.
You really think Fana's that good ? In his last outing against Randy Suico he escaped by the skin of his teeth, and Suico is not even in the league of MAB
Damn, you guys need to see some of the older fights.
Heavyweight-Foreman-Frazier. Never has such a great champ as Frazier been utterly demolished in a title fight.(No, not even tyson v. Douglas)
Hagler-Mugabi or Hagler-Hearns
Duran- Leonard I. Duran spanked the golden boy.
LaMotta, Robinson, Graziano, Armstrong all have fights that could make this list.
You can add in the Ali-Frazier trilogy, especially the 3rd one
"We".....& that's your problem right there.
"We", don't know a damn thing about boxing, but have some loud mouths on the subject.
You're a very sensitive bitch, aren't you ?
Sure Dr. Know-it-all....
I was being nice, actually.
Just wanted to temper the possible overreaction of idiots (your few posts have shown you as such) like you.
Why the fuck do you care how we react?
you react to your own boxers, and you leave us to do our thing.
I have a feeling Manny isnt gonna be the same after the Morales fight.Trying to beat three Mexican P4P fighters must take its toll on anyone.
With all due respect to the 3 Mexican current greats, Manny comes back strong after each loss. We see him learning a lot from the loss to Erik and coming back a better prepared (mentally and not just physically) fighter in his next outing.
My 1000th post.
All i have to say is that if its true what u say then he should be unbeatable after he loses to the 3 m's. Good luck to him he is just in the wrong era or right era? He gave us three exciting fights I dont think he will make that run as succesfull this time.
First off, congrats on the 1,000th post ! :D
To your question, I think he is in the right era.
Fighting in an era without the 3Ms will not define
you as a great boxer, so I say that he is also lucky
to be fighting in the same era as the 3 Mexicans.
To your next question, Pac is just 26 and as shown in the
fight against Erik he still needs to do some work on his
style and maturity as a boxer, so I think he can still give
us some great fights in the coming years, either against the
3Ms or other boxers ;)
ANY fighter who has nothing to lose and everything is very very dangerous all depending on his hunger and will regardless the skill. If Pacquiao toys with him, he could be in for a nasty surprise. Apparently, Fasang has a "Secret weapon" for the fight that he doesnt want to divulge. I'm sure it's a shotgun...
I agree. Pac has everything to lose and a little to gain in this fight. If he wants to face JMM or MAB again, he should be looking into finishing 3k early before the Thai upsets him .
Always expect the unexpected when Arum is involved. If your feeling is correct, it may work. But if EM/Pacman will materialize, it would be more exiting than Pac/JMM2. Aside from the fact that this is a dream come true for Pac.
Anyhow, Pac is the winner in any case. He's the man being talked about more than JMM and Morales :D
MAB-JMM is a long shot they're avoiding each other :D
This is a lot easier fight than fighting the Counterpunching freak. Morales may trade anytime in the fight and we know what will happen if he do that. MAB & JMM didnt hurt PAC.... therefore Erik WILL NOT do it his power stayed at 122.
Morales' success at 130 was brought about NOT by his ability to hurt opponent BUT by his workrate. and nobody outworks PACMAN. ;)
Very logical indeed :)
The Thai promoter of the July 5 bout which features untested lightweight Rodney “Jun” Alba, has agreed to the 1K purse demand of Alba's manager in order to become a “human punching bag” for two-time world champ Sirimongkol Singwancha at Muangthongthanee Stadium in Nonthaburi, Thailand. details]
Jeez man, laying your life on the line for a measly 1k (P50,000).
How sad :(
