Do you think he is overated and has a padded a record? Why hasn't he took on a real welterweight such as Mosley/Berto/Cotto/Bradley? Is is true that Floyd is avoiding these fighters? His record ain't padded, it's just lackin at WW and JWW, tho you can't blame him for JWW. Cotto and Hatton weren't ready. He don't want it wit SSM no more. Berto woulda been a good tuneup for his comeback fight. He don't want it wit Cotto no more. Bradley fights at JWW. Mr boat buyer don't fear the top WW's, he just don't wanna fight em. I fell off as a fan of Mr boat buyer cuz when it was time to put up or shut up he wouldn't do either. I'd root for him again in a heartbeat if he fought the top 2 WW's. Nobody can justify criticizin him anymore if he takes those fights.

Just kickin back, watchin the threads pop up 1 after anotha in the JMM-PBF flame war. Question for everybody; Do y'all get offended when somebody says sumthin negative about a fighter you like? Not just to the point of speakin up cuz you disagree, but takin the shit personal? Just for fun I guess I'll put a lil poll on here.

I notice the usual Pwill nuthuggin round here has basically stopped since the Pac-DLH fight. Looks like PBF is comin back, and Pwill's lost his avid following. Kinda funny.

Almost my pop's whole side of the family is town. The guys are all boxing diehards, and even the women in my family are at least casual fans. After we eat, we'll be drinkin and watchin fights from our collection. We got some old shit I used to watch wit my dad when I was a kid. I dare say I'm the biggest boxing fan in my family. I can't wait for the liquored up discussions we'll be havin bout the sweet science and some of our favorite all time fights. We always have some fun talks about how today's stars would do against the old school greats. I love hearin about some of the shit that was before my time. Just peeked at the Ring ratings from last week that had Cotto #6 P4P. Margarito took a decisive KO over him and took the top spot in the WW division wit it. You think Margarito gets a spot in the P4P rankings now? I'd put him in the back half of the top 10 somewhere.

I've been sayin all along Jermain should pursue the Froch fight for the WBC 168 lb strap instead of the Lacy fight. After tonight, I'm even more convinced. I ain't sure the Lacy fight would even draw any $ now. If he passed up the title shot and beat Jeff, even by a big KO, would it even mean anything at this point? Should he go for the easy $ or the belt?

Based on what just happened, waht do you see in Pac's future at 135? Can he take Nate and Casa? How about the 3rd JMM fight? Pac looked like a beast at 135. I can't wait to see how the LW division shapes up this year. And props to David. he took a nasty ass whippin that went on too long and never quit fightin.

Now that Berto has the WBC belt, what should his next move be? I still ain't sure if he's ready for the WW elite yet. I'd like to see him face at least 1 more lower level ranked fighter before he gets rushed into a big main event. A fight wit Collazo, Cintron, or that Bonsu guy might be a good test for him.

Forrest didn't take a bad beating, but he looked like shit and lost clearly. Can he still come back or is he just shot?

My homey's Latino, and me and some others just converted him into a boxing fan. He's never seen DLH-Trinidad, so we're gonna get fucked up and watch it at his request. We all had shit to do over the weekend, so May 5th alone, a fuckin Monday, has gotta be celebration day for fights and alcohol. He deserves better tho, so I'm bringin the MAB-Morales fights too. Any other suggestions on other great all Mexico (or otherwise Latino) fights to show him while we're drinkin up for the holiday?

Took a look at the thread on Ring Magazines 147 lb rankings earlier, and Burner's thread about Mosley-Judah. Got me thinkin, Cotto v Marg is the big fight to determine Floyd's top challenger, but aside from those 2 are there any other top ten ranked welterweights that could beat Floyd right now? Somebody mentioned Shane earlier and I think maybe he could take him, but what about the other guys? (excluding Bonsu who I've never even heard of)

Guerrero seems to be on a treadmill at 126 right now. He could possibly get a unification match against one of the other titleholders, but there ain't any big names left at featherweight. I think he should get in the mix at 130. JMM is the top guy in Pac's absence, but he'll probably move up to get the third Pac fight sooner tha later, and the division will be up for grabs. I think Guerrero can make some exciting fights with the top ranked guys at 130 and win some more belts there. He's a good boxer and a decent puncher who looks like he might have some money in his future, but I think he'll go stale if he hangs at 126 too much longer.

Big boxing day for me and some other cats that had the day off. Oscar's name just came up in our boxing discussion. We're talkin about his close fights, opinions v facts. My take on it: Drew with Whitaker (he got the decision) Lost to Quartey (he got the decision) Pissed away the last 3 rds and still beat Trinidad (he lost the decision) Beat Mosley in the rematch (he lost the decision) Lost to Sturm (he got the decision) Lost to Mayweather (he lost the decision) I only agreed with the Mayweather outcome. Curious about everybody else's thoughts.

Doubtful he'll rematch Hopkins, and he says Pavlik is the only guy he'd go back to 168 for. He's got some options at 175, primarily RJ.

The thread about Cotto not bein important sparked a conversation between some people over here. Did Floyd hope it would come to this (eventually havin to fight the Cotto-Margarito winner, his clear #1 challenger) cuz he feels he has a better chance beatin Margarito or Cotto after they do some serious damage to each other? Is he hopin Marg does his dirty work for him and beats Cotto cuz he thinks Tony is the easier opponent, or vice versa? Is he tryin to build anticipation to make the Cotto fight as rich as possible, or is he just flat out scared shitless?

Now Joe C has the LHW title but the win wasn't as decisive as he woulda liked. Everybody was sick of him hypin his past wins over Lacy and Kessler, but he can't talk too much shit about beatin Hopkins since he didn't look good. He said Hopkins was one of his toughest, but I'm talkin about relevance to his career resume overall. Bernard was his best opponent, but where ya think the Hopkins win rates against his defining fights against Eubank, Lacy, and Kessler?

Mostly just cuz there wasn't a heavyweight champ the world could identify and MMA blowin up, people were hatin on boxing last year. But 2007 ended up bein a great year for the sport. This year's off to a hell of a start and there's some good shit still to come. I think it could end up bein better than last year. Think 2008 will surpass '07?

Bernard didn't get beat decisively, but he lost and at age 43 what's left for him? Even he didn't have much of an answer for Kellerman after the fight. I'd rather not see him go out on a loss, but aside from a rematch like Lampley was sayin, is there anything left for him to do?

I just checked out a thread about Cintron where someone asked if he needed therapy or sumthin to re-establish himself. I thought he should move up and pursue a belt at 154 lbs. There are skilled boxers there that could beat him but no relentless mad dogs like Tony that he absolutely couldn't handle. I don't think he could take Vernon, but there are some guys there he could beat with his power. Cintron can be exciting to watch and with some renewed confidence he might be able to become a top guy at the new weight which don't have a lot of big names right now. I figure he could do some good work as a superwelterweight. Assuming he don't retire, whaddya think about Kermit's chances at 154?

Re-watchin the the Tony-Cintron fight and Lampley's comment got me thinkin about some other body punch ko's from the past. Tony's was ok but Cintron was goin down from accumulated punishment anyway. There have been worse ones. My favorite would be RJ over Virgil Hill. Anybody else got any?

Last year Tony passed on his big money fight with Cotto to defend his strap against Williams and ended up losin. I doubt he'll make that same mistake now that he's set for the fight with Cotto again, but by winnin Cintron's belt he inherits the obligation to give IBF #1 Clottey his shot. Clottey just got done winnin a fight (although dubiously) and has been waitin for a while. The fight with Cotto is way more important and Tony woulda got beat by Clottey last time if he didn't hurt his hand, so I'm sure he wont hesitate to say fuck Clottey, give up his belt, and give us the war against Cotto if the issue is pressed. So assumin Kermit don't quit or move up to 154, how about a fight between Cintron and Clottey? How you see it?
