Now that Berto has the WBC belt, what should his next move be? I still ain't sure if he's ready for the WW elite yet. I'd like to see him face at least 1 more lower level ranked fighter before he gets rushed into a big main event. A fight wit Collazo, Cintron, or that Bonsu guy might be a good test for him.
Im a big fan of Berto, and at the end of the day I'd rather watch im fight than any of the other welterweights. hes got a good style, his defense has improved, he is incredibly fast and counter punches well. What I like most about Berto is that he has become noticeably better with each fight. You usually only see that progression in elite fighters.
His next test should be Quintana. It wouldn't be easy for Berto, I would predict UD or very late KO (coming off the loss to PW) and it would be an excellent learning experience and a good proving ground for this young and no longer prospect boxer.
You ean the same Luis C that lost to Hatton, a natural 140 pounder and lost to Mosley? Collazo should nt even be in the picture. He lost to Mosley. IF ANYTHING, he should fight Cintron or Mosley. Because they are the worst of the top 5. And Mosley is #6, right after Clottey.
Well Collazo is not a bad choice for Berto really and it is a workable fight against a somewhat known guy who is probably dying for a chance to get in the mix. He really has not done shit to get his status and i know all the alphabets are fucked up but it is what it is. It is still a step up in opposition Collazo is a former belt holder at welter and he really is not past it
Mosley and Cintron are better opponents, so are a bunch of dudes but if he even fights someone like Collazo or a dude similar to him that is a step up and i wouldn't be mad at him for that. I hope he fights the best possible dude he can face, but i think he can get away with just fighting someone "good".
I say Judah beats Clottey, turns back the hands of time and KO's Berto and is back on top. I believe he realizes this is his last hurrah and will buckle down and get the belt back.
that's exactly what i want to happen.....
Dude ain't ready for the elite of the 147LB class...He is the most protected fighter out there...Rivera,Rodriguez,Trubant Jeez atleast fight someone with a heartbeat maybe Mosley would be a good test to see where he is at or Collazo

How many times has this been said about Judah.....

collazo is a winnable fight for berto so why not
You sir, are smoking something. Top 2 0r 3? Behind Cotto, Margs, Paul, Clottey, Cintron, Mosely? You sir need to get to rehab ASAP!!!!
Mosley probably won't be around for another 2 years and he certainly isn't going to get any better.
Cintron's punching power is potentially a problem for any fighter but I Berto is far more skilled and would beat him.
I will reserve judgement on Clottey as I haven't seen enough of him.
Margarito is vastly overrated and after Cotto is through with him I don't see where he is going to go with his career. I have absolutely no doubt that Berto will be able to beat him within the 18-24 month timescale I mentioned.
Williams is another I will reserve judgement on as he impressed against Quintana last time but looked awful first time.
Cotto is, quite simply, in a different league to the rest of the division and I don't see Berto or anyone else beating him.
I think Luis Collazo is the next highest ranked guy in the WBC ,but i do not think he has mandatory status yet he prolly need to fight some stiff for that.
