hell yeah!!
like it better than cowboy bebop
anyone fans of ruroni kenshin?
Samurai X:Trust and Betrayal is my favorite movie :D
Yea I am a fan of RK the anime also.
They actually released a new series in January of this year, it wasn't a re-mastering or anything. The story continues on.
My gf loves that show and has watched the original series and she's not into boxing. I watched about ten episodes, and it was pretty decent, but it drags along. I might go back to it some day.
The games Victorious Boxing that are based on the series are great though
Oh and the movie is set after the original series and continues on the story. But I guess now you would have to watch the original show, then the movie, and then the new series.
Your best bet is to get a torrent client try torrent websites.
Yea, I love Ippo. Hmmm let me think. Go here http://www.utorrent.com/ . Down that program (it rocks to DLs).
Then go here :D

PM me for anymore Q's.
just decided to view the 2 greatest boxers ever and the best fantasy matchup fight ever, cant wait for fight night round 4 so i can Pick tyson and KO ali's ass.
-but na for real, i think joe frazier is a poor mans mike tyson, and he dropped ali and broke his jaw in thier 1st battle yes of course ali proved to be better then smokin joe in winning fight 2 and 3. but come On were talking mike tyson here, and No george foreman is not as crazy as tyson, thier punching power was about even foreman and tyson but come On look at tyson the guy would KO fools in 45-50 seconds in the first round every fight. it was amazing, i just dont think ali would be able to keep tyson off Him
Two greatest boxer ever huh?
No - Ray Robinson, Henry Armstrong
Best Fantasy Match ever huh?
No - Ray Robinson vs (Young/Prime) Henry Armstrong
Can't wait for Fight Night Round Four?
Yea, but I pray it isn't fail like 3 was. (WTF career mode?)
Tyson KO's Ali?
No - Prime for Prime other way around.
Joe Frazier a poor mans Tyson?
No, how dare you... .
Broke Ali's jaw in the first fight?
No - That was Ken Norton.
Ali proved he was better by winning 2 of 3.
Indeed, but those 3 fights where a f'n mazing fights. (Not saying you don't agree)
Tyson (skip some words) Foreman (Skipping on) Power about even(skip...)crazy as Tyson (???ear biting skipping) Tyson KO's everyone is 40-45 secs.
No
I just don't think Ali could keep Tyson off.
That your opinion which I respect, but likewise I respectfully disagree.
Where to begin.... . Tyson vs Ali,.... . Ali takes this 3 out of 3 fights. Frazier vs Tyson , ok it's possible we see another Foreman like win in Tyson favor but if the ref doesn't stop the fight Frazier comes back and Ko's Tyson. I got Frazier winning 2 out of 3 fights against Tyson.
I assume you only made this thread to talk about FN4, and not rly about Tyson ko'ing Ali .
That being in mind I'll stop ranting about Tyson, and state my opinions on FN4.
Yea I can't wait for buy this for the PS3, but I really didn't like FN3 (I still play FN2 alot more often). Maybe however EA learned a thing or two about not putting out a game every year of same type (outside the Maddens and ect).
I often wonder why so many people are so bothered by Calzaghe, to the extent they genuinely hate the guy. Is it because he's not American, or because he's beaten every great American hope put in front of him? Is it because he left the self-proclaimed "Executioner" crawling around on his hands and knees after imaginary low blows, trying to wangle a points deduction like some second rate club fighter?
Unlike many of his peers, he doesn't use women as punchbags. He doesn't claim to be greater than the likes of Ali and Robinson. He doesn't give X-rated press conferences, take steroids, get into scraps with the police, or have a massive entourage full of leeches and hangers-on. Just a solid boxer who's made a lot of money and had a fine career.
I think most people have issues with his fans on here, but I'm not entirely sure I don't dislike Joe, in fact I like his fights for the most part.
The nastier beatdown is Mayweather-Gatti hands down. Gatti was getting hit so clean and it wasn't just single shots it was in combination cleanpunch after clean punch. De La Hoya being bigger than Manny has nothing to do with how nasty the beatdown was except added humiliation.
I see your point, I think people tend to forget just how much pop PBF has at the lower weights, even in JWW.
Well humiliation could be a deciding factor I guess. :D
Not talking about actual rounds but rather sustained punishement. Oscar's was in increments, with flows and ebbs, whereas Gatti got hit constantly is what I mean.
Ah Indeed, indeed. Sorry for asking but it appeared as if you was referring to rounds for a sec, and I knew better :) .
I have to go with slap whore on this one. He'd win by Robinson dying of laughter in the first round after he got a load of Joe's girl slaps.
:haha: :haha: :haha:
Yea there are several things you can consider like Hoya being bigger and still getting whooped by the smaller guy.Gatti getting out of the fight in 6, where Hoya lasted 2 more. I thought it was a somewhat interesting thing to sit down and think about.
The gatti beatdown was the worst I've seen. Then I saw him get even more ****ed up by Baldomir and I thought that was worse. Then I saw the beatdown he took in the hands of Alfonso Gomez, and I thought that was even worse.
Lol yea, poor Gatti.
Yeah man, watching the video just reinforced what I was talking about that ish was brutal and that wasn't even the only round like that.
No doubt Gatti got took to school,....or rather detention :D
Genius! I hope HBO sees this he can replace Kellerman.
I could imagine that guy (in the videos) interviewing Floyd live, that'd be great entertainment!
Seeing how sugar ray robinson is a welterweight and Calzaghe throws more punches then almost all welterweights, then Calzaghe would win at super middle weight. :owned2:
So throwing a lot of punches always means you'll win? The game we know as boxing is a lot more complex then that sir. Just because you throw 1200 punches in a fight doesn't always mean your going to win, and as we all know you can hit the wall in the locker room 10000 times after getting knocked out and it won't change anything. ;)
Anyways to me it seems both sides are either underrating Joe, and overrating Ray. Both would give each other a good fight (at SMW imo, at MW I think Ray has it). Also one thing that may be interesting to think about is Ray is use to going 15 rounds, so how would his pace be in a 12 rounder? It'd be pretty intense if you ask me.
I guess I should make a predict of this fight now. Let see I can certainly see Ray knocking out Joe in the later rounds, but I can't even imagine Joe knocking out Ray. So Joe would have to win on points which is possible. Lets say Joe win a SD in the first fight, and Ray takes the rematch by UD. Then if theres a rubber match I see Ray knocking Joe out in, lets say the middle of round 9.
I hate how Sugar Ray Robinson has this untouchable stigma.
Yes, compared to the era he fought in, he is without a doubt the greatest boxer that has ever lived. However, advances in technology and breakthroughs in biochemistry has sparked the evolution of the athlete to accelerate at a rapid pace.
Athletes today are faster, stronger, more agile and more coordinated than the athlete of the 1950's. Consider this: The fastest woman today is able to run faster than the fastest man could in 1950.
Sugar Ray Robinson would have an awful time dealing with the speed, power and sheer athletecism with some of the fighters today. If Jake "Womanizing Booze Hound, Chain Smoker" LaMatta could manage to beat Robinson (albeit just once), A prime Joe Calzaghe would give Robinson fits. A Prime Roy Jones probably blows Robinson out of the water.
Much less was discovered and known about boxing over half a century ago. When you deduce that we simply have the past to learn from, then it's only logical that more has been discovered and learned about boxing today.
Robinson is great because he was so ahead of his time. Robinson has contributed more to modern boxing than any other fighter in history. It's just that fighters today have had a chance to absorb it, scrutinize it, test it, refine it and improve it. Which is why I always measure fighters against their own eras when gauging their greatness.
He was not unbeatable, not even in his own era. He sure as hell wouldn't be unbeatable in today's era.
Your exactly right however just saying the newer the better really takes the fun out of it all am I right? For me to compare fighters from different eras you have to take away all of that and put them on equal grounds. Consider if Robinson was put into todays era with the same training, new found knowledge, ect ect . Thats is how I take these type of fights into consideration. Because just saying Tyson would beat Ali because he was in a later generation doesn't make it entirely so, don't you agree? Either way I am not trying to argue or disagree(as I said at first I was in agreement with you statement), just trying to tell you how I view these things because it makes it more fun and challenging to think about.
Rocky 4 lead me to reading boxing history (I'm a history buff). While doing this I came across the epic fights such as Louis vs Schmeling II, the Ali-Frazier trilogy, and ect. Truth is boxing has several memorable heroes and villians (who is which depends on ones opinion), and many great stories. All this combined with my love for fighting it just stuck with me and I became a modern era fan. So in short Rocky Balboa.
Good thread btw.
I don't know either personally but I'd lean towards AsianSensation simply because his post (and articles) appear to support a steady knowledge of todays boxing (aswell yesterdays boxing). Xcaret is a boxing fan, and has strong opinions about certain fighters (which is perfectly ok with me).
That being said , I haven't tested either I'm just going with my own personal opinion on this one. So no disrespect to anyone. Good day!
With the right strategy I think Mosley wins, I would have said Cotto before yesterday but Mosley made me a believer.
Amen, I picked a draw however simply because I scored the last (or first rather) fight just that. Both are great fighters, and each time they fight it'll be close.
By the way.... it's "Ceased to exist" not "Seized to exist" and Mosley has a lot more to do than just knock out Margarito to even be mentioned alongside Robinson and Leonard.
OMG I never said Shane was "alongside" SRR/SRL in anything, but the man had an amazing win over what many viewed as a tank. All I am saying is IF SRR was able to be with us here and viewed the fight that it is safe to assume he would of no doubt been proud of Shane.
If I had to use a space analogy: Sugar Ray Robinson is the Big Bang - Leonard a Supernova - and Mosley a Red Giant.
3 different fighters. 3 Different levels in terms of all-time greatness, but every one of them deserving of respect.
Well said, and agreed.
No.. he actually meant seized. He meant that Robinson's legacy was so great that he "seized existence". Held it hostage and only relinquished his hold on existence once his demands to be labeled as the GOAT were met.
lol nice one
I'm sorry, but Shane has no where near lived up to the greatness of the last two great Sugars, Robinson and Leonard. If anything the ghost of Ray Robinson was a little ticked that a fighter who has never lived up to his full potential and was caught using roids carries his glamorous nickname.
Ha ha, I never said Shane was in the league of SRR/SRL. Listen if you can't say anything good don't speak please. What Shane just did was truely amazing and very worthy of praise if you disagree wonderful, but please guide it away from this thread.
From one boxing fan to another.
Good day Sir/Mam.
I don't even begin to fathom what Ray Robinson would or would not have thought, but Mosley gets nothing but respect from me for his performance.
"5) Shane Mosley (46-5, 39 KO)
Age: 37
Current Title: Alphabelt at Welterweight/147 lbs.
Career Titles: World Welterweight (2000-02); World Junior Middleweight (2003-04); Additional Alphabelt at Lightweight
Last Five Opponents: Antonio Margarito, Ricardo Mayorga, Miguel Cotto, Luis Collazo, Fernando Vargas (twice)
Next Opponent: TBA
The Take: Mosley can’t quite claim to be the undisputed king of the class following his humbling of Antonio Margarito, but there can be no doubt he reigns now as “The Man” again almost seven years after losing the spot to Vernon Forrest. Sure, he lost narrowly to Miguel Cotto in 2007 but there were arguments for both men. Mosley never even let Margarito make a case. Like another great Sugar at the same calendar age, Ray Robinson, Mosley showed the ability to handle a younger pressure fighter and summon youth from an aging body for victory. Margarito may not have been Carmen Basilio, but he had never been made to look the way Mosley left him. Add to that a powerful run of recent competition and Mosley assumes Margarito’s spot in these ratings and improves it by one. Previous #5 Vasquez drops partly because no one is sure when he’ll be fighting again as he nears one year out of the ring. Boxing now stares at what could be a dream four-way scenario if Floyd Mayweather chooses to return. Manny Pacquiao and Ricky Hatton are busy this spring; Mosley has an open dance card. Mosley-Mayweather has been must-see for over a decade. Amazingly, Mosley has shown the world it still is. "
Bolded is more or less what I was trying to get across.
Side note going through this new p4p list the "The Take" on all these fighters are really good reads.
Unfortunately yes, I would lose all my respect for Marg because not only does he not has his chin been cracked now, but he would be proven as a cheater thus putting great fighters in even more harm’s way then they already are. To me that is simply unacceptable because boxing to me is about a warriors honor, and pride to be such.
Something that has crossed my mind is I wonder how Marg’s hero Chavez SR feels how all this? (Marg’s being suspected of using illegal ways to earn a W)
