Not sure if this is the right section to ask this in. If not, then feel free to move this thread Mods. But I’m on the 7 day trial for ESPN+, and I’ve heard that Top Rank has a huge fight library on here. But other than the “Best of Boxing” fight collection, I’m not able to find anything. Does anyone who’s had more experience with this know if there’s anything more than this list and replays of recent fights and events?

I just watched the recent Tim Bradley/Brandon Rios fight from this past weekend, and it got me wondering. Is punching power necessary in order to hurt your opponent to the body? Tim Bradley's not a guy who possesses a lot of power in his hands, but he was able to break down, and drop, Rios, who's shown to be a very durable fighter throughout his career. I'm sure that having exceptional power doesn't hurt, but is is necessary?

I was wondering if anyone knows of, or listens to, any good Boxing podcasts that cover the sport. I've been looking around iTunes, and I've come across a few, but I'm not sure which one is the best. Any recommendations or popular podcasts out there that people like to listen to?

Hey folks, I was wondering for those who know a lot about the History of Boxing if you could help me out. I'm working on a project for my Archaeology class, and my topic of choice was History of Boxing and it's Equipment, really meaning anything form the gear used in competition and training, to the environment and areas which the fights took place. I'm trying to emphasize it around the 1800's when Boxing seemed to have taken a turn and was legitimately recognized as a real legit sport. If anyone knows anything or could point me out to some real good, reliable sources, it would be great. Thanks!

Now before I get off on my rant I just want to say that I still am not very big on this fight. I think that even though Bradley has the skill to hang in there with the top guys, his lack of power is what's going to be the difference maker in this fight, and any other fight against other top tier guys out there. Don't get me wrong, I think Bradley is the top two, if not #1 guy in his division. But I think that against PAcquiao, stylistically he gets blown out of the water. I could be wrong, but we'll see. That being said, many posters here with myself included, seem to blow off this fight in favor of others, such as Mayweather vs. Cotto. Now I'm not here to make a Floyd vs. Pac thread, because I want to focus solely on Bradley vs. Pacquiao here. But the more I think about it, I'm starting to think that I, along with many others, may be overlooking this fight. Does anyone else kinda feel that way??

Nowadays it seems like everyone just wants to pick and choose their opponents, especially the higher up you move in rank. Do you guys feel like sometimes fighters can get overpaid to where they have all the say, and as a result us fans tend to lose out on a lot of the fights that we want to see? I remember Jordan once said about NBA players that they are all overpaid now, and as a result they tend not to care as much or work as hard, could the same thing be happening in boxing??

What do you guys think about this potential match up if Margarito happens to not win on December 3rd? Williams looked HORRIBLE against Lara and I'm sure 99.9% of the boxing world saw who really won that fight. But random thought just popped up after I watched their first fight.

I haven't seen any threads on this yet, shockingly. But for those who saw the fight, what were your impressions? Personally, I was very impressed. He had good technique, he was sharp, spot on, and seemed to be in good form. From what I saw in his fight against Froch, he seemed to be lacking that pop or explosiveness. Against Bouadla, it looked like he had it back. Of course, Bouadla isn't on the level of a Carl Froch or Andre Ward, but still, overall I thought the guy looked good. I'm glad he got about 6 rounds in, a few more rounds couldn't hurt but 6 is nice. Thoughts?

Does he belong in the p4p argument?? Let's say hypothetically that he beats AA, and goes on to beat the winner of Froch/Johnson, then gets a fight wit Bute and wins, does that qualify him to be right up there with guys like MArtinez, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Donaire, and JMM???? I mean, its a real big if, considering that the division is pretty damn competitive, but do you think he'd have earned his spot in the top if he does that?

Just a thought that popped in my head, seems to me like a lot of fighters tend to not train that hard or train at all when they don't have anything scheduled. So I was curious if you guys know how often most the top level guys train when they don't have anything scheduled, or if they train at all.

Sooooo since everyone seems so butt hurt because an boxer lost in MMA, which should be expected and everyone shouldn't cry over it so much, I wanna get back to BOXING DISCUSSION. Has Floyd announced his opponent, or is there more waiting to be done?

I've just been seeing a lot of Pac vs. Mayweather, Mayweather vs. Cotto, and Marg vs. Pac threads a lot so it got me thinking... We all know boxing is full of politics and things being flopped around all the time, negotiations not going as they planned, fights falling apart, people getting injured, etc. So i was thinking, as extreme as this may sound...do you think that the Mayweather and Pacquiao camp are(possibly) avoiding the Pacquiao/Mayweather fight in favor of the Mayweather vs. Cotto and Pacquiao vs. Margarito fight to add more hype and money to the fight?? Hypothetically speaking, let's say both Pac and Mayweather beat Cotto and MArgarito decisively it could aw people more and therefore just make the fight all that might better, all while possibly setting up a potential Margarito vs. Cotto 2 match up. I mean i know this might be kind of a long shot, but do you guys think this could potentially be what happens? Of course, that is IF the fight doesn't happen and the two other fights do.

Last i checked he and Mayweather had a falling through. So is he back with his old trainer or is he training with someone else now?
