Does he belong in the p4p argument?? Let's say hypothetically that he beats AA, and goes on to beat the winner of Froch/Johnson, then gets a fight wit Bute and wins, does that qualify him to be right up there with guys like MArtinez, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Donaire, and JMM???? I mean, its a real big if, considering that the division is pretty damn competitive, but do you think he'd have earned his spot in the top if he does that?
That's how he beat Kessler, in the middle of the ring by boxing.
People tend to forget that because he has chosen to grind it out in the trenches for his last 2 fights.
i def have issues with ward and the way he fights .... hes seems like a real cool guy but i hate what he gets away with in the ring. if he were a euro i think many others on the forum would as well. people didnt liek the way hatton fought and ward isnt that different to him in style (at least of late)
the kess fight may have been more in the middle of the ring but still had its fair share of elbows headbutts and holding. impressive win but i didnt like the way he got it
as well the bika fight was key for me. bika is slow of foot and hand, so wide and telegraphed, off balanced. and ward tried early to box and counter and didnt do so great. he fought bika's fight and went into the 'trenches' with a guy he shouldnt have with. i wonder why? i think it may have been cause he wasnt good enuf to keep it on the outside. why else would he make it so hard for himself ... and that fight was much closer then the cards reflected.
i really dont think he could beat him in the middle of the ring in a pure boxing match

if he is allowed to fight the way hes been fighting of late i think he beats bute ... and pretty well anyone else as well. but i think its unfair ugly and boring to watch. i really dont think he could beat him in the middle of the ring in a pure boxing match
JUUUUST checking, because lately I've seen a lot of hate for the guy. Honestly, I think he's very VERY talented and has all the potential, but was unsure what people thought. hahahah
It could do, Pound for pound rankings are really getting interesting at the moment. Not long ago it was Pacquiao/Mayweather, then JMM and the rest. Now you've got Martinez and Donaire, Ward could be up there in contention for a top 5 slot soon, so could the winner of Bradley Khan, Wlad can stake a stronger claim to be higher up if (more like when) he beats Haye. Things are getting interesting, it's good that things are kind of moving on from the lack of a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight.
