Is the amount that boxers get ultimately hurting boxing??

Boxing works on the same business model as any other business. For guys like Pac and Floyd the risk reward ratio is always HIGHLY in their favor. Why risk something at 1-1 odds and make 60 mil, when you can be at 10-1 odds and make 40 mil? Realistically now almost no business person would take the 1-1 odds Oh BTW, nobody is overpaid on PPV's, because they generate the money themselves. Untrue some fighters like Floyd use Mexican fighter to achieve higher PPV sales to attract Mexican buyers so the credit has to go to Canelo or other Mexicans. Floyd Mayweather would never recieve high PPV sales by using black boxers on the under card. Golden Boy is aware of this that is why they put Mexicans on the under cards to give the fans a real exciting fight not a self defense film

Explain to me how Pac and Floyd are overpaid If Floyd is paid 20 million but is using Canelo Alverez on the under card to attract Mexicans to buy into his boring fight than I say he's being over paid and Canelo is being under paid. Floyd should try using Zab Judah or some other black fighter on the under card and see how many PPV's he really sells. The other part since I can see you don't under stand boxing you must put your time in the gym to be paid for this particular day. Try not training and showing up on fight day and see if you ever get another pay day. But since people like you who hold their hand out on the 1st and 15th of every month you wouldn't understand what it means to work a week or two to get paid on pay day.

the promoters are mainly whats hurting the sport... promoters negotiate their fighters' paydays and thereby also keep in mind how to profit from these fights. bad blood between north american boxing's two major players: gbp and top rank is whats preventing the major fights because they sign the major fighters

Frosty for your information a boxer payday isn't just one day, it's at least 90 days of trainning than he has to pay sparring partners,trainers,cutman, and now days condtioning coach, While an NBA players dosn't pay his coach or his tape man that's provided by the owner. it isn't that comparable to the NBA- those guys have to play X amount of games per season for their money, or they'd be out and be nobody. pro boxers, if they earn enough, can quite happily sit out for 6 months. they can also very easily use this to avoid an opponent that they don't fancy facing, in fact it is HARD to make the fights coincide well enough to make the ones that they actually DO want. after a gruelling battle, fair enough take as much time as you want out, it's good and it's necessary and nobody can really have a grip about it, but there's no way in a million years that i can accept that normally a fighter NEEDS 6 months out before stepping in the ring again, regardless of how intense a training camp is. money however enables them to do this... IMO its a little of both back in the day fighters only got big money for true big fights. Like PBF and Manny can only make 50+mill by fighting each other. But in the mean time they can make 25+mill for fighting Cotto and Bradley. That right there is the problem. If they can make that kind of money fighting 2nd and 3rd tier fights why make the truly big fight? Getting overpaid for fights that are not really big fights is messing things up in boxing not the fact that they are getting paid.
