I am not just saying this because Joe Calzaghe was born in the same London hospital as me (my only claim to fame) but surely someone deserves credit if they become the UNDISPUTED World Champion of their weight division, as Joe did.
Kessler, Roy Jones Jr, Chris Eubank Bernard Hopkins and Jeff Lacy were not bums, either.
In fact, some may react scornfully to this, but I believe that Hopkins is currently the best American fighter on the planet.
44 years old. Grow a brain.
Roy Jones was KOed twice how MANY years before Joe finally balled up to fight him?
Lacy is a bum. Always was.
Kasslarrr was just exposed.
Stop jockriding your hero.
A tactic used by the great JCC and other fighters.
Indeed and would certainly be a great point to add in a thread about how accurate Manny is.
Next up, let's discuss how he always faces people in their natural weight classes and never asks them to come to a catchweight because that would be dishonerable.
Some people seem to think Mayweather is the most accurate puncher but the truth of the matter is that Pacquiao is more accurate than Mayweather.
Pacquiao throw more punches and is a combination puncher, both these things redcue accuracy. On top of this Pacquiao is a harder puncher and throws harder puncher, another thing that will effect accuracy.
We also have to forget about the jab as the jab is use to open a defence and find range, so it can be used effectively even though it is not landing.
Pacquiao also lands his punches right on the button, bang on the chin, Mayweather punches are more scoring punches.
Pacquiao landed an astonishing 50% of his power punches against Mosley while Mayweather landed an impresiive 46%, still 4 % less than Pacquiao. And Mosley was in defensive mode when facing Pacquiao and Pacquiao was throwing more punches than Mayweather.

So what is there 6 fight average?
Pacquiao 52%
Mayweather 50.2%
There you have it the stats back up my theory and add to this Pacquiao throws more, hits harder and throws more combinations and higher punch combinations, you would have to agree Pacquiao is the more accurate puncher.
I liked when Pac landed accurately to Clotteys gloves and elbows and arms. He beat the **** out of his arms.
The reaon he didnt perform is because he wasnt any good on the night. The SSM that beat Margarito was a better SSM. But when you are ancient you cant expect to produce those Margarito nights time after time.
He bought it out of the bag against Margarito, but couldnt go to the well again.
PBF beat an average SSM. The SSM that lost 5 times alrdeady.
man you are a loser......
I really have nothing but respect for both of them...
They fight everyone that they should fight..
If you work your way through the ranks of the HW division, and you earn your right to fight for the title.... you will get it.
Do I like their style? Not really... but at the end of the day, you have to be smart and use the tools that you have to make it work to the best of their ability... and that's what they do..
At the end of the day, they fight smart, and they give every deserving HW a chance at the title.
I have no complaints.
I just wish their was more talent in the division.
When I say Id like to see Haye beat one of the Klitschkos, it's not because I dislike either of them, I would just like to see things shaken up... and a rematch or even a trilogy..
The HW division should be the magnet to our sport, it's not the Klitschkos fault.. it's the lack of TRUE competition for them in the division.
THIS. Other than this though I do enjoy their style and watching them fight. I dunno, I think wlads offense is very technical and Vitalis off kilter strange stance and angles are interesting.
I dont care what another dude looks like...
Tunney has said he like Paul Williams after going to one of his fights.
And of course, he loves Roy :)
Token fighters after openly being racist don't count.
Btw Reed: I think Wlads lead left hook reminds me a bit of Roys. I know...blasphemy right?
I love castefootball.us. I am not a fan of any ethnic fighters. But I like to pretend that I never said I liked castefootball
hahahah, I really got into this ******* skin didn't I.
Hey vagina: Name a black fighter you like? And did you or did you not prop up castefootball the website (I and many others saw you did so go ahead and deny it).
And yes I'm clearly racist because I just made a post giving props to 2 white Euro fighters.
It's amazing that they give someone as slow as you computer access.
But your bull**** aside, way to miss the point of the thread.
Dont ever say that to me again.
hahahahahaa, I knew it.
Hey I mean to be honest it's not Roys. He can't throw doubles and triples or jump into it like Roy. Just saying, it's a good lead left hook :)
EXAMPLES: floyd, pacquiao, cotto, donaire, valero, JCC Jr., alvarez, margarito, P4P QUEEN sergio, etc.
clearly and demonstrably, americans root for boxers of ALL ethnicities and nationalities.
americans don't hate the klitchkos because they're racist, we americans hate the klitchkos because A) they suck B) they're boring C) they have the worst fans on earth.
crying racism is one example why we don't like their fans. we don't like to be called racist when we root for boxers of ALL ETHNICITIES.
I didn't cry racism. I said ON THIS BOARD the primary reason is that THEY HAVE RACIST FANS.
Jesus christ. I thought I made it clear. The rest of the reasons are reasons I've heard but not a consensus by any means.
As for the resume: who are they supposed to fight?
I see that people are getting things more in a perspective, TBH. I keep an eye on this forum and respect for Calzaghe among regulars who were once much more skeptical has gone up. That is, they acknowledge him as a genuinely very good fighter now, which was widely questioned before. The decent tests he faced late in his career, along with his retirement giving time for reflection, has steadily changed the perception of him to a generally respectful one.
I didn't say "tons" of respect, the kind reserved for true Greats. What I'm talking about is an increase in general respect in quarters where it has previously lacked.
Joe will make the HOF and few reasonable observers would begrudge it. If it weren't for the idiots who came here claiming he was an ATG and an achiever equal to Jones Jr. or Hopkins and this and that, we wouldn't have seen near as many threads like this one on the forum over the last 3 years plus. By your own admission, so many of your threads are a reaction to the inflated claims of his fairweather groupies.
I dont mind him in the HOF. The standards of the HOF for boxing are not as strict as for NFL, NBA or baseball for example. I'd imagine the standards for other sports worldwide are stricter also. So Yeah, i don't mind him being in the hOF or considered a very good fighter.

Pisspac down to a tee
Ah the ultimate nationalistic nancy cheerleader exposed. A coward just like his favorite fighter. Prolly ducks competition in his real life as well. Never seen anyone as dumb as weenies until now. Face it loser you don't know anything about boxing and worship a guy based an his passport. Not skills. Pathetic
No, I want to imagine that's him in his avatar and he came here to harvest Calzaghe Stans' souls. Don't spoil it for me.
It's hilarious how obsessed with me this clown is because I picked on his girlfriend. With you know- facts.
Amazing that someone can be so emotionally invested in a frightened coward.
Pisspac you aren't witty or clever enough to pull this off
And yet you keep responding. Like the hurt queen you are. Have you ever boxed? Of course not
Uploader shut their account down. Mysterious, LOL.
Gee I wonder if the more unhinged losers on this forum didn't just spam report his account to death. LOL.
17 in total I believe, including one of their top prospects Jeff Lacy and two supposed legends Roy Jones Jr. and Bernard Hopkins in their own backyard.
It upsets some, but that is natural.
It's sad because you aren't even trolling. If you were trolling i'd give you kudos on a delusion well done.
But yeah, "legends" like Roy who were destroyed four years prior to Slap boy ever getting to them. Yup. But he certainly beat them in their prime.
Why don't you show us your Mayweather Hatton "scorecard" again so we can all have a good laugh at what an idiot you are.
your red bars are a reflection of what the majority of people think of your views on boxing, if you don't care then why are you even posting here?
The majority of Brit trolls. Again you can't justify your pathetic scorecard with any real scoring criteria. Moron

As per usual the Brit troll scum has no response to the giant hole in his "logic". Keep ducking like your boyfriend who made ducking and running scared an art

-""kick the can" is an old game. It used to be said that "Cans" were put into fights to get kicked around... "
Why do threads like this stay up?
If I made something like this Ballsackguy would delete it.
So thentrutu that Joe pretended to
Be afraid of should be deleted? Joe fans have no
Honor
Mug like their hero
LOL @ bsrizpac still making these threads in 2011. :lol1: :lol1:
Hmm not sure what you're on about but it should noted that Joe shamelessly ducked the cobra in your sig
ALMOST as funny as hopkins saying "ill never lose to a white boy", and then, well uh, SUBSEQUENTLY LOSING TO A WHITE BOY!
then not as funny as the knee-slapper that joe pulled on roy in front of his own people in NYC . . . hahahaha
Roy is from Florida. You need a geography lesson.
What was your score for Joe vs. Hopkins? What a sorry "win" that was for joke fans.
