Since the very first 24-7 came out I have been saying that they should show an edited version on a local network like NBC, ABC, or CBS to get more exposure. Glad that they finally listened.
After thinking about it, Tito/Whitaker was a bit too harsh of a comparison, I would say Whitaker/ODH would be better comparison since it could have gone either way, but they gave it to the young upcoming fighter.
I can take the Whitaker & Mayweather comparison, but Khan & Trinidad. Nope.
Anyway, even though Floyd got his number over Khan ten folds, don't see Floyd having the courage facing Amir.
Agreed. Thats why I changed my stance that the Whitaker/De La Hoya fight would probably be more accurate of a comparison than Whitaker/Tito. I could see the fight going more of that route where Mayweather does enough to win but they hand it to the young upcoming fighter ala Whitaker/DLH, Taylor/Hopkins, etc.
I was really depressed after the fight even though I knew Hopkins would win beforehand. I never liked that fight for Tito, I was kind of hoping that he would skip that fight to just go fifght Roy Jones. While I know that Roy would have beaten him, I would have rather see him lose a fight like that where he wasn't expected to win, but would get credit for just getting in the ring with him (RJJ) rather than get dominated like that by Hopkins. In retrospect though, it was good for the sport that it happened because it allowed Hopkins to finally get some well deserved exposure. He may have fallen by the wayside so to speak and would probably have ended up like Hagler almost did before Leonard or like a Charley Burley or Packy McFarlane did in not getting that big career defining fight.
My proof that Tyson would have wonis in the clip below fast forward to 0:55 when Cus starts sparring with Ali and look at how that kind of bothered Ali:
And of course this is the closest style comparison that Ali fought to compare to Mike:
Pernell was 5'5 or 5'6 and Tito was 5'11, the size difference wouldn't be that big in a Floyd-Khan fight. Whitaker also didn't have the power to hurt Tito, but I think Floyd actually could hurt Khan
Actually Khan is like 5'10 and anyone who has seen Mayweather in person will tell you he is only like 5'6-5'7 so the height difference is pretty close. IMO, I think Floyd is starting to lose his legs now. I could be wrong, but we will have to see in his next fight whenever that is.
Haye came in pretty light here, I expected him to come in about 220, but I guess he wants to be quicker as Wlad has had some issues with some of the faster guys in the division I guess.

for those who dont know,
Nopal en la frente
means, just look at his face, cant hide the fact you are Mexican
something to along these lines
I will say this, only fighters who have KD Ortiz had great KO %
I think Maidana had 95% KOs when he faced Ortiz
and
Breto had like 80%
Who on earth is the girl in your signature?
Exactly.
floyd could have easily beaten Marquez WITHOUT CHEATING, but he did so for the heck of it anyway.
do you really think floyd COULDN'T make the agreed 144 weight limit?
floyd IS indeed ATG material. the cheating of the weight was simply a b**ch move in his part.
Honestly, I think Floyd just realized that he was getting older and that his metabolism isn't as fast as it used to be. I think he was genuinely surprised by how much weight he still had on him. Thats obviously just my opinion, but I am not so sure that it was because he was trying to "cheat".
When team haye where blue t-shirts it means there going to stick to boxing whit a game plan like moving around wlad some eg of this are
haye v value grove v degale what they are trying to do is keep the boxer cool came
when they wear red it mean attack
You may be right that may also be why he came in so light at 212 lbs, so that he will have more quickness to execute this plan. I thought he would come in at like 220 atleast but if that is the gameplan he is going with I wish him luck.
beucase floyd had a huge weight advantage over jmm....pac wont.....
They keep saying this but for that fight it was so irrelevant. I could see if Floyd came into the fight and knocked Marquez out in 2 rounds then this argument would hold water, but Floyd beat him with straight up quickness and skills. The weight advantage while a factor wasn't all that signifcant of a factor for that particular fight.
Hopkins said recently he wound't fight him now. And I feel the fight makes no sense and Haye would never accept it.
I don't even need to see the fight, I just want to see the HBO Faceoff between the two and I would be happy. :boxing:
Yup Boxing Tiger. If Floyd were to beat Pacquiao there would still be excuses such as Manny was too small, the needles from the random testing weakened Manny, Manny was overrated, etc.
Well on one hand its not like there are all these great fighters out there for Wlad to fight, there is literally no one else. To me Wlad may as well either retire or just fight Haye again. On the other hand Haye will need to make a dramatic change to drum up interest in this one, I think the best thing that he could do to increase interest in this fight is to get rid of Booth and bring in another trainer preferably Freddie Roach. If he did that then had a tuneup bout that he won in impressive fashion then I could see interest being generated in this fight again.
I always thought that Haye should have had Freddie Roach as his trainer not just for this fight but from the moment he got to heavyweight. I think he could have got the most out of Haye's abilities, but oh well.
As I have been saying I think he shiould have went with Roach/Ariza from the moment he got to heavyweight imo. They could have helped him get the most out of his talent, also I think coming in at 212 was too light, he should have been over 220 lbs imo.
Anyone have a link to the HBO telecast? I am watching it on a spanish link, but would rather see the HBO version. PLs PM me if you have it. Anyone that wants the spanish link let me know.
Vitali Klitschko vs Lennox Lewis
THE TRUTH
Vitali took the fight on just 10 days notice.
Vitali was clearly winning the fight 4-2 on all 3 scorecards at the time of the controversial doctor stoppage. Lewis barely survived the 2nd round, he was badly hurt, holding on for dear life, wobbling everywhere and staggering around the ring like a drunk. Lewis was badly hurt several times in the fight and was getting outboxed, outworked, outmuscled and outlanded by Vitali.
punches landed
Vitali 156
Lewis 102
Lewis was exhausted, worn down and hurt from the accumulation of punches and was ready to get KTFO again, he collapsed onto his stool at the end of the 6th round, Vitali was clearly the fresher of the two, he was a man on a mission and would've KO'd Lewis for sure if the fight had continued.
After the fight, Vitali intimidated the shit out of Lewis and made him look like a bitch.
All the fans at Staples Center cheered for Vitali and booed Lewis after the fight.
Lewis promised Vitali a rematch.
Vitali destroyed Kirk Johnson in 2 rounds and called out Lewis again in the post fight interview. The scared Lewis retired shortly after that fight.
Lewis turned down 30 million dollars for a rematch and retired like a coward because he knew he would get destroyed by Vitali.
Vitali dominated Lewis and scared his bitch ass into retirement.

George Foreman: "Vitali was winning the fight. Lewis got lucky. There has to be a rematch!"
Jim Lampley: "A lucky escape for Lewis who was clearly losing the fight"
Even Emanuel Steward was upset and pissed off at Lewis for blatantly ducking a Vitali rematch.
Lewis is scared to death of Vitali.
I certify that every word in this post is true. Before anyone says that Lennox was old, that Vitali would have beaten any version of Lennox Lewis imho.
I love the "clearly dominating the fight after winning 4 out of 6 rounds", y'all do realize that was still only the first half of the scheduled 12. It was a good fight, good call to stop, its a shame these two didn't meet earlier when Lewis was properly prepared to take on someone as good as Vitaly. I love Vit but IMO a prime Lewis beats him down.
Exactly, and how many KOs does Lennox have in his career after round 8? Zero. How many does Vitali has? I would have been Lennox a round or two to KO Vitali, but if Vitali was still around after that then Vitali who carries his power late would have stopped Lewis in the late rounds no question.
First of all he did not duck Lewis or Holyfield. Secondly, you cannot say that Stallone is hall of fame material and Tyson is not. The basis of the Stallone argument is that his films inspired generations of boxing fans and brought alot of attention to the sport. Tyson brought both of those things as well while showcasing a dominance that captured the public's imagination and created an excitement in the sport that has been unmatched since.
Thats awesome that you got to go! I am definitely envious. I had been planning to go since the inductees were initially announced, unfortunately I loaned someone my car and they totaled it so I had to use the money I had saved for the trip up there on getting another car. Really sucks that an event of a lifetime was missed. Oh well I guess I will have to wait for the next big class of inductees. I have a feeling that we may see Felix Trinidad and Oscar De La Hoya getting inducted together, I would love to go to that. I could be wrong, but we'll see.
