Well for starters the fight is going to have to take place in the US. As B-Hop said in his post interview, when talkin about the RJJ stoppage thats the reason why i never went to fight in europe.
Lulz, boxing hasn't needed saving, never has, boxing will always have fans, plus it pays much better than MMA does as well. If anything the UFC might phucked because their main draw Brock Lesnar might not even fight ever again and all the popular fighters who are draws barring GSP & Penn are old as phuck and will be gone in about 2 years.
If anything David Haye winning the heavyweight title might have done more as he has finally given a face to the heavyweight division, that it really needed. Superfights at the lowerweight classes have always happened, its just you can make so much money from different avenues now than you could do 15 years ago
I'll go a step further and say maketability helps the judging on some fights, especially if a fighter is a) unbeaten, b) up and coming & c) has charisma or all the above alot of the time, they get decisions when really it looks clear to most that they lost the fight. Take David Haye I thought he lost to Valuev I had Valuev a couple rounds up, but yet Haye won for doing pretty much what Dirrell did only a few weeks earlier. When have you ever heard of a foreign fighter getting a pts win against a German based fighter, hardly, but Haye did. To me the only way Haye got that win in Germany, because there is money in it for Germany with the Klitschko's and the UK & US markets so everyone gets to eat on a much bigger scale that wouldn't of happened if Valuev had won. There are other instances like Floyd/Castillo, 1 Taylor/Hopkins 1 (Lets be real, there aint no money in a Hopkins fight plus he had been champ for 10 years,) they needed a change and Taylor up to that point of his career looked to be the next big 160/168 star)
Yea, i'll say he is shot, also it seems to be a common thing that when the PR/Dom fighters also alot of the Cubans hit their late 20's early 30's, they as fighters seem to peak in their mid 20's. They dominate then either a lose focus/interest and never look the same in their earlier days especially when they have had success. With Guzman 3 fights in 3 years especially when your having weight issues and your the wrong side of 30 aint a good look. Plus having as many amateur fights as Guzman has had it has taken its toll on his body
The Cotto before the Margarito fight had a good chance of causing Floyd problems, the Cotto of today has no chance, he is pretty much shot as a top tier fighter now, not as shot as Hatton is tho lulz but Margarito gave him a terrible beating with those "cement wraps" that he might of "HAD".
I don't really see the problem with what he said, think about it most of the top names in boxing are 30+
before anyone says but Manny's 29 he's 30 this month.
Back in the 80's & 90's you always had big name boxers in their 20's & 30's now its a bit of a struggle. Look at the 175 div barring Chad all the other top names are 34+. The welterweights its only Punisher, Berto & Cotto who are names that are under 30 and the latter is the bigger name of those 3.
Obvously there is alot of talent coming thru but alot of them are gunna need time to come thru so there will be a gap from when the stars of the late 90's and this decade go till the young bucks comes thru.
Just look at the H/W division, love him or hate him everyone is hoping David Haye can bring sme glamour back to the division instead of watching the Eastern European Chess masters beat up overweight bums.
Pacman gets the higher portion of the purse.
Its only fair...
for a few reasons:
A) he is the p4p champ of the world
B) floyd hasnt found since the end of 07 against hatton which means he hasnt shown much lately to prove he deserves a higher portion of pay
C) The fight is more important to floyd to recapture his top p4p status and crazy as it sounds floyd needs to fight pac more than pac needs to fight floyd...
challengers for a title (ring, p4p or ABC titles) shouldnt get priority in pay...
just like when floyd was the top of the p4p list and pacman was second...i'd say floyd gets the bigger portion because in that situation pac would need floyd more than floyd needed pac.
plain and simple...
i think it should be CLOSE to even but with the edge to pac...55-45 sounds fair to me.
C/S I said that exactly in a different thread on another forum. Arum will use these to play hardball with Baby Floyd.
Thats what Hopkins told Kelly, if he does this and that, change some things up, he'll fight like a Black boxer.
I never knew there was a certain way Black boxers fought.
Oh ok, I was on more, don't let this defeat take your soul...
But thanks for cleaning it up
It's what B-Hop does to get into a fighters head, thats it nothing more nothing less. People are reading too much into it, if he was really racist I don't think he would of went over to Pavlik after there fight and told him what he did.
Just like in wrestling, action films tv shows like 24/prison break you need a good guy and a bad guy and Bernrd like Baby Floyd know how to play this role, its all bout the money baby.
TV shows & movies? This is what Stevenson is thinking about?
The Superman Tv Movie w/ a prossie called Lois as the love interest, minus the wheelchair of course
