Lets say Pac/DLH did 2,000,000 + ppv buys and if he fights Hatton and that fight gets 800,000 + ppv buys, what do you guys think the purse share should be for Pac/Mayweather? Who gets the most and why?
Pacquiao earned a guaranteed 6 million for the DLH fight + 5.2 million from the PPV's.
Total = 11.2 million, thats less than half of what Mayweather earned which was 30 million dollars. I have already posted the PPV stats in the previous post. So who should get the bigger purse and who is the bigger draw? Clearly Mayweather, and he will dictate the negotiations.
In an ideal world I think both guys should split it 50/50.....but I guess Floyd should receive the bigger purse since he's made more money and sold more PPV's than Pac :dunno:
I see Mayweather getting the bigger purse for this fight, but Pac will be MORE than PAID...he will make more than he did against Oscar...the PPV and live gate will out do both Mayweather-De La Hoya and Pac- De La Hoya...unbelievable numbers will be done in this fight.
I do not think HBO would give anyone 32% of thier total PPV revenue,it would be 32% after they take out all the expenses, overhead and other stuff (I would imagine anyways). HBO has to make thier money also and while some peopel think they run a shitty business for boxing they do know how to make money on PPV.
Also they will not be able to draw Mayweather out of retirement with some shitty offer, you need to keep that in mind. He is retired they need to compensate him to come back.
If Lennox Lewis came back (from a way longer layoff) do you not think he would get paid a huge ammount more then he ever made before to rematch Vitali or fight Wlad?
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing but that's what was reported, sounds misleading... meh.
It'll probably take $20+ million to lure Money out of retirement and who can blame him for demanding that much?
Are you his manager?
DLH-Pacquiao did 1.25 million PPV Buys, Pacquiao got a guaranteed 6 million + PPV Cut from those 1.25 million buys.
DLH-Mayweather did 2.4 million PPV Buys, Mayweather got something like a guaranteed 14 million + PPV Cut from those 2.4 million buys.
Mayweather made 30 million total from the guaranteed $ + PPV Cuts, if you compare their PPV's DLH-Pacquiao did less than half of DLH-Mayweather so Pacquiao will probably get a lower cut from the PPV's.
What did Pacquiao-Marquez II did again? Yeah lower than Mayweather-Baldomir :lol1: you cant compare pacquiao to mayweather in terms of PPV's bottom line
Both were the P4P No 1 when they fought DLH.
But yeah Certain jackasses would think Pacquiao deserves the bigger purse
Nah, I was simply pointing out that he stands to make a lot more than 6 million from his fight with Oscar
DLH-Pac just did 1.25m buys and DLH-PBF did 2.15m buys, how is that less than half?
With the economy in the shape it's currently in, I'd say 1.25 million buys is a very good amount.
Pac vs Hatton will get more than 800,000 buys. Hatton vs Floyd did 1.4 million buys in Britain alone. I'm sure those fans were'nt paying to watch Floyd run around. Pacquiao would have unbelievable PPV #'s in the Phillipines if the majority of the people there had access to PPV. Now they're pretty big stars in the US and Canada.
hey man.. what did the cops told you>?
50-50 would be fair to me but you are pretty much sending Manny in to get slaughtered so he might as well get some good pay for it.
If Floyd was active I would agree and I still favor Floyd over Pacman, but he will have 2 years of ring rust by that time (if he takes no tune up). I am sure Manny can use an extra 20 million before his next political campaign in 2010 though.
I think Hatton-Pacman will make money but I dont think it will approach 875k (or whatever the number was to Mayweather_Hatton). The economy is worse and Hatton lost some shine, but he is probably more well known now in the US then before the Mayweather fight. I still stand by that it should be 50/50 with the winner prehaps getting a 10% bonus.
Also that shitty undercard and the lack of excitement in the main event could have turned people off to the sport, just as people said about Mayweather-Oscar. Some will come back to see Manny though, just like some people that watched Floyd-Oscar bought his next bout, who knows what that % will be if he gets 1/3 like Floyd 400-500k would be a huge success against Hatton.

That was AFTER fighting De La Hoya.. I guarantee you Pacquiao will be drawing large audiences from now on.. Especially after what he did to Oscar.

Yet he still drew a very large audience against Hatton (who is not a huge PPV draw in the US). That audience saw a great knockout and people usually remember the last thing you did.

Like you said.. People remember the last thing you did.
Pacman should obviously be the one to get the bigger $ since he is the current top man and most popular fighter world-wide. JAT
this is not a question of worldwide cuz pac already gets 100% of the non ppv revenue. this is about ppv split. it doesn't matter that pac is currently the top fighter or even that he is the more exciting fighter to watch. This is about ppv drawing power and mayweather clearly draws double the ppv buys than pac does.
out of curiosity and laziness, how many buys did the baldomir and judah fight have?
I think Baldo was like 310k and Judah was somewhere over 350k and think I read 375k from Btalk, but they take a lot of credit for that fight so that number may be a little high.
PBF made 20M $ against DLH.
Manny-JMM did more than every Floyd-fight pre DLH. YOu owned yourself son...
you don't know what you are talking about. floyd is EASILY the bigger ppv draw than pacquiao is. It's not even close. and if you still don't see that from the dlh-pac ppv numbers than you are just a blind nut-hugger or a mayweather hater or both.

split should be 50/50... pac destroyed dlh, but pbf did more ppv buys than pac. the winner gets the bigger cut in the rematch... yeah i said it, a rematch.
Pacquiao should. He's been the most dominant fighter, took out De La Hoya with ease and is number one Pound 4 Pound right now. Money Gay hasn't fought in a year and his performance against De La Hoya didn't even compare.
