thats that shit i dont like
It's a great display of inside fighting not a single clinch is seen, pay attention all andre ward lovers, this is REAL inside fighting,:boxing:
edit: the vargas sanchez fight
Lol.
Yeah, Ward will be picking up pointers from those two titans of boxing.
Not on how to bend the rules and win that way no.
But those 4 rounds were proper boxing u can't hate on that.
Easily Pacquiao Morales 1
The first round, Pac tags Morales twice with the left hand and then Morales suddenly chases Pac back against the ropes in a crazy aggressive manner. Pac acknowledges it as if to say 'Let's get it on' and that's exactly what happened.
Brilliant war!!
Worth watching? are u kidding ?!?
People can talk all the smack they want about his defense but you can't deny this guy is seriously entertaining. Just because of that I'll continue to support him. He gives it all, he's a warrior!
But it's nothing but *******g and nitpicking though. There's not one real reason that Andre Ward has done to warrant the hate and BS from some people. It's all petty crap
2. The clinching is part of the business and the game, yeah like he's the first fighter to clinch and use that as part of his trade, c'mon son. Once again nitpicking. So he should stop doing something cause the threadstarter doesnt like it? Yeah let me direct you to GTFOH-ville
Part of the business and the game? Just because fighters get away with it doesn't mean we should stand behind it.
He doesn't just clinch, he's a dirty ass fighter. Guys like Hopkins and Bradley get criticised all the time on here but Ward doesn't because he's the great new American hope. If he's so damn morally wonderful and such a proper christian, then fight with morals.
Because indeed he has a whatever it takes attitude in the worst sense.
All these Ward fans just use the Dawson fight as an excuse to make him sound exciting. He's not, he doesn't draw any excitement and that's for a reason. Until the left hook that Dawson couldn't take, the fight was boring as hell...constant clinching. Of course after he was hurt and completely collapsed mentally apparently it was 'exciting' gtfo.
Every fight he uses his head, he uses his foremans, he clinches and mauls....this is not mma this is boxing.
The sad thing is he actually has the talent, footwork and skill to put on a beautiful boxing display. We saw shades of it during the Froch fight. But again it had to end in 3-4 rounds of clinching cos Froch was getting too aggressive.
religion has to do with morals. headbutting, lowblowing (and constantly using the clinch to get an advantage) has nothing to do with morals. If Ward calls himself a religious person (which he does) and at the same time he is the dirtiest piece of sh*t once he enters the ring, it makes him the most hypocritical a+sshole on this planet
^this
"I'd like to thank god for this victory"
Yeah SOB I'm sure god loves how u split open your opponents with headbutts. I bet he sat back with a beer and really thought 'gee that Ward is one fine talent!"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Puxp2Lv6QU
"Ward comes in a blasted Kessler with it"
every word you say is the truth. Yes, the Froch fight was the only fight in which Ward didnt clinch the whole time, but only cause Froch was way too slow. Ward could box him from the outside cause he knew he had a big speed advantage. And the moment a situation gets dangerous, the old clinching Ward appears again. dude has more dirty tricks than Hopkins and that says a lot.
Hopkins gets ****, Bradley gets ****...but Ward the wonderful christian olympian is a p4p great already? I'm glad u made this thread cos it's the damn truth.
Oh btw people forget...re-watch the Dawson fight UNTIL the left hook that rocked him. Within a couple of rounds Dawson is already the recipient of a lovely headbutt which Ward gives to all of his opponents as a souvenir. And it's pretty damn intentional, when clinching he thrusts his head forward and makes contact with his opponent, even pushing and shoving with his head.
What a wonderful guy! great personality!
And the next person to say he has great 'inside fighting' needs to re-watch Corrales Castillo asap. If Ward fought in Mexico the fans there would lynch him.
And btw.....The Allan Green fight is perhaps the most disgraceful fight I have ever witnessed and I will never forgive SOB for that. If anyone asks why you are seriously retarded. The Bika was also just a terrible clinch fest, and let's not forget the street beating he gave Kessler, not just using his fists.
Am I hating? You damn right I'm hating.
corrales used to spit out his mouth piece and pretend to slip to recover in fights...
castillo used to low blow in fights he got outhustled in...
double...
...standards
You are taking my quote out of context. I am talking about Wards so called great inside game. It doesn't exist!!! And don't even try to mention those couple of uppercuts he landed on Dawson.
Of course a lot of fighters use dirty tactics, it's boxing. But Ward has this wonderful image which is just plain fake.
I don't like Floyd for example, and he uses his elbows, but by god the man can put on a boxing clinic and DISPLAY HIS TALENT.
Ward prefers doing the job dirty, despite having all this talent. If that means 12 rounds of clinching then so be it. Again the Allan Green or the Bika fight....did u really enjoy that?
Dirtiest piece of s**t? Really? Once again stop reaching. You really gonna sit in front of your computer and keyboard and with a straight face say that? Ward is by far from the dirtest fighter in boxing. Once again seems like you just personally hating on the dude.
Man y'all kill me, excuse me I gotta go on my lunch break after that post
watch this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Puxp2Lv6QU
then watch the Green fight
then watch the Bika fight
come back to this thread and re-think ur post
He doesn't box well, I mean standing in front of people with your hands down and chin in the air is smth for Mayorga, not classic well trained boxers.
I find him very flat footed as well, Edgar has more that boxing fundament in his game.
People say Nick Diaz boxes well because he incorporates certain aspects of boxing in his mma game. He uses a jab to set up combinations, which most mma fighters underuse. He also mixes up to the body and head. That, and staying loose and patient and not putting 100% power in every punch, but rely more on combinations.
But that's exactly why he's succesfull and should stay in MMA, because that is exactly what MMA is about: taking things from different martial arts and putting them together to create a total package.
Terrible fight, Shane will get busted up.
If there's ANY fight that Shane wants to take right now (insteasd of just retiring like he should) it should be against someone who doesn't have speed. Khan is one of the worst options, he will get overwhelmed just like against Mayweather. The explosiveness is gone, he can't pull the trigger anymore.
It's a reality check, especially if you're sparring with someone skilled.
The thing with sparring is you just have to 'take it', it sounds bad but it's the way it is. You're gonna be tense, you're gonna be frustrated, and you're probably gonna gass out which makes u unable to correctly execute anything you've learned. If you're facing someone that goes all out, you'll prolly have hard time, tuck your chin, hands up and make the best of it.
But that's what it's all about, you have to learn to remain calm, learn how to apply what you've learned in practice.
It sucks to feel slow and have everything you throw being countered. Once your confidence starts growing, you will relax more, your defense will become better...and you'll start experimenting with combinations.
edit: as mentioned before try to keep your eyes open and keep facing your opponent, it's easier said than done for the first time
I'm the biggest hater of this fight for sure, and no one is more upset at Floyd than I am. But to nitpick the only positive thing of this shit fight, you have to really hate Floyd with a passion.
The ONLY thing good about this fight is that it's at 154. And even that doesn't even make it good enough for me to buy in to it.
Explain to me why this fight could not take place at......say 150?
You know Cotto and Mayweather could EASILY make this. The weight has jack to do with the credibility of this fight. It's ironic that Floyd is making this fight legit on something Pacquiao gets criticised for. (Since he claims Pac makes his name off him)
Buy the PPV guys....support these frauds (YES PLURAL we are getting robbed by both parties)
well. thing is Pac actually did this while FLoyd merely answered a question. he never said 50 or no fight but thats the context you put it in.
/thread
Merely answered a question hahahahaha, you are either naieve or incredibly stupid.
If he was so OPPOSED to this catchweight BS he woulda said let's do it at 154 Martinez, SKILLS PAY THE BILLS.
But you and I both know that fight will never happen anyway.
/yourcrapbiasedreasoning
because martinez is not a draw cotto has the whole puerto rico behind him martinez is great fighter top 3 or 4 p4p IMO but he got to get his name up before floyd would even think about fighting him
What you just said has NOTHING to do with fighting at 150.
You're letting yourself believe this is a legit fight because Mayweather is using the weight as the icing on the cake.
I'm gonna watch some Hagler Leonard, f this sh*t
what did you clowns say when pac didnt want to fight him at 54 then said he would at 50 just to back track saying he'd only fight him at 47?
ansswer, asshat
I will tell its complete BS, unlike you i don't think in "Pactard/Flomo" terms.........I criticise them both and use my head. Stop trying to justify your boy's actions by what Pacquiao did. They are both guilty.
This weight thing is comedic.
Now 154 is "Cotto's weight"??????
Miguel wanted Tony to fight him at 150.
The weight thing is Floyd's selling point for this shiit fight.
Exactly!!! At least someone is not stupid enough to simply buy this crap. The weight doesn't mean ****.
hahahaha don't make me laugh!!!
GOD u people are full of ****.
Remember when Khan was calling out Marquez before he fought Maidana? Every single one of you was ripping on him saying he should fight someone his own size instead of the 'old lightweight'
Now suddenly Marquez can destroy him and it will be a great fight!?
It's amazing how a bad night for Pac and a great performance from Marquez changes everything. Maybe Marquez has always been great....maybe most of you just don't know jack about boxing.
