Shane Mosley wants to make a return and it looks like he's being considered as a tune-up for Khan at 147 lbs, if Peterson refuses to rematch Khan.
This is crap, Shane just needs to stay home. He had a solid career, just let it go.
Also, Khan fighting Mosley is crap. If he jumps to 147 for his next fight in April, he should take his 147 tune-up against someone like Selcuk Aydin. Khan vs. Aydinw ould be a very legit fight for Amir's first test at 147. Aydin is unbeaten, coming off a good win over Jo Jo Dan. It would be a legit first fight at a new weight. I have ZERO interest in Khan-Mosley.
I would actually like to see this, I got shane winning this. Dude looked like **** against manny and floyd - but hes comfortable at 147 and will be a serious test for khan moving up
youre joking right?? khan wouldnt be able to put mosley out of commission if shane was 78 years old. amir khan, remember??
khans speed would be to much mosley would quit like he did against pac
Doesn't Arum have an option on Mosleys next fight in the same way he does JMM? All part of his Pacquiao contracts i thought?
If Arum has Mosley tied down, then Khan aint getting a piece of the action just yet. I think they will go with an easier option for Khans first fight at 147. Mosley would get overwhelmed by Khan i think at the moment, but he's still dangerous and i think they will go for someone that doesn't hit as hard as Mosley...
Khan is in a bit of a pickle after the Peterson loss and GBP must be very confused as to what to do next. The plan was to walk through Peterson have a few build up fights at 147 win a title then set up a super bout with Mayweather. Easier said than done.
Khan has said the loss to Peterson has set him back 3 moths and there has been a major mind control media campaign to reinvent what happened in the fight and reprogramme our minds to make us think it was a fix and Khan won. I think that has back fired and turned a lot of people who were warming to Khan against him.
What must be really concerning to GBP is that the Peterson fight was not really a fluke loss as the complete lack of infighting skills and Khans flaws were laid bare and fully exposed. I don't think an inside game can be built quickly and Roach does not seem capable of teaching it. GBP also have to pay Khan $1.1 Milion a fight and wth no title on the line they need fights that generate money and keep the dream of fighting ayweather alive. Mosley would fit the bill. I would rather see this fight than see GBP dig up a WW version of Oisin Fagan to fight.
Beating Mosley ges Khan's career back on track but losing to him would be devastating to his career. There are risks here and it is an interesting story. It could be worse.
Great post Homie
Why do people have this much of a problem with this fight? Khan is coming off of a loss and needs a first fight at 147. Shane may be shot, but he's still quick and he's still got plenty of pop. He could easily catch Khan, it wouldn't shock me at all.
id love to see this just to see mosley finally put out of commission. When he gets smoked by an amateur like Khan hopefully he will realize its time to hang em up

ummm, what the hell is everyone talking about?! Is Shane shot? YES. Will he beat khan at this stage? HELL YES!! This is amir khan, no defense, no chin. Shane Mosley - good defense, granite chin. so whats the issue... :boxing:
Terrible fight, Shane will get busted up.
If there's ANY fight that Shane wants to take right now (insteasd of just retiring like he should) it should be against someone who doesn't have speed. Khan is one of the worst options, he will get overwhelmed just like against Mayweather. The explosiveness is gone, he can't pull the trigger anymore.
Mosley looked like **** against Mayweather and Pacquiao, but they are Mayweather and Pacquiao. Marquez looked like **** against Mayweather, he went on to have some good fights. Morales looked like **** against Pacquiao a few years back, he was competitive with Maidana.
I don't think Khan has the power to deter Mosley from pulling the trigger and I don't think he has the defence to avoid his heavy hands.
AND Mora. He's had a consistent pattern of not throwing punches. Whenever he does throw punches they are pitty pat non-sense. If he's not throwing meaningless punches he's just standing there jittering or holding. He's not the same.
Not the greatest fight in the world, but there would be a little intrigue in the first couple of rounds as Khan doesn't have the greatest chin in the world and a shaky defense at times and even now where Mosley is shot, he still has a punchers chance in the early rounds.
However, still wouldn't want to see this fight, or certainly not pay for it, as it'd probably be a stinker of a fight with a lot of darting in and out from Khan trying not to get hit and Mosley conserving his energy by not throwing a lot. Would like to see Khan just take on a top 10 contender first before jumping in with Senchenko or trying to get the IBF title!
I actually think this is a nice cross roads fight. Aslong as in the build up they dont try to sell it as Khan vs a great fightre in their prime. Let the truuth be known that Shane is a decade or two past his best but is still a threat because Khan is chinny.
It would be a decent scalp for Khan. Shane has been outpointed by Floyd and Pac but if those two are considered the best and neither could stop him, it would be a statement by Khan if he could. Id Shane enters the ring with some ambition who knows we might even see a fight!

Yeh but what about his draw with Mora in between those fights?
Mosley doesn't need to fight anymore. For khan it will make him some money and put him in the puplic eye.
Last time he lost he beat an over the hill atg and that worked out ok.
I agree with everything that you said. I don't think Mosley has enough punching power to KO Khan though. Khan took Maidana's punches so he can handle Shanes but Shane has enough physical strength to bully Khan in the ring and make things interesting. These styles might match up for a good fight. It certainly won't be Mosley Mora 2. I wouldn't mind this one.
