Sturm got out hustled....at one time during the fight I counted 24 thrown punches by Geale before Sturm threw 1 back..and when he did, it was a single jab...smh
i saw the highlights and it was funny how bad sturm was getting whooped at times he just let geale put the hands on him lol

It was frustrating. Sturm doesn't have pop like Abraham, so he can't afford to go a long time without throwing a punch. Dumb strategy, mutha****a lost me $$$ today. I was pissed off a little while ago, but now I feel bad for Sturm, good for Geale, and I'm getting ready for Golovkin/Proksa.

WBA orders middleweight title resolution by December 31
On Thursday, the World Boxing Association issued a resolution ordering the winners of the two WBA middleweight championship fights scheduled for today to fight each other by December 31. WBA “Super Champion” Felix Sturm will fight Daniel Geale in Oberhausen, Germany. A few hours later, in Verona New York, WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin will defend his title against #3 ranked Grzegorz Proksa. Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions stated “We are glad that the WBA has issued this binding resolution and ordered the winner of Golovkin/Proksa to fight the winner of Sturm/Geale by the end of this year. Gennady has waited long enough to prove that he is the real WBA middleweight champion.”
Yes it does, since each round is scored individually, so for me Geale won clearly more rounds than Sturm, and if I gave the closer rounds to Sturm I would have a draw, but if I give them to Geale it would be a W for Geale.
So yeah, it does makes sense.
No, it still doesn't. You scored it 115-113 which we can say is 7 rounds to 5. You're fine with it being 6 rounds apiece but not 8 rounds to 4.
If one of your rounds can be seen by someone as swinging in a different way then another round can also go the other. One round difference is one round difference no matter how you look at it.
I'm arguing about your score or the result or anything. Just saying that if you're prepared to accept a one point margin of difference it can be both ways.
Anyway, I'm off to work now so doubt I'll be checking in again so knock yourself out with the response. :D
Dan Rafael more or less saw the same thing I did, not that I think he's a great scorer. I will admit to disliking Geale's style of fighting though. He strikes me as being a volume puncher but lacking the finesse of someone like Calzaghe.
i agree. he doesn't have the finesse of calzaghe.

I thought Sturm's surge was 8-10. Geale won 11 & 12.

This is why foreigners fight in Germany, because its the only place a foreigner can get a decision.. this is Gaele's 2nd....
:D :D :D
I saw what you did there.
that's a win for sturm, if you ask me. nice little german piece of ass.
She's from Azerbaijan.
He won the championship rounds. Geale had a nice stretch during the middle of the fight.
I will agree Sturm won the 11th round but wont agree on the 12th... Boxing is always seen on different perspectives but I really don't think Sturm won both the 11th and 12th round, thought Geale landed better shots personally in the 12th round and just asserted himself alot more.
Closed stronger?
In what way did he close stronger... By backing off and only looking to throw the jab?
Geale showed his heart all night long and went toe to toe all night long aswell he's a worthy champion and he showed he wanted it ALOT more than Sturm did.

It's not a guarantee Geale will fight Golovkin/Proxa winner immediatly Soliman won a IBF elimanator and there could be money for that fight downunder first plus a home bout as unified champ depends on which soup co. wants to enforce
Mr Vacon,
So you're fine with the score being one point on one side of yours but not the other way? That doesn't make any sense.
