If roach senses that pac is in trouble, him and pac will resort to headbutting to open up cut on Cotto. Save this post because I will. Yea, cotto will get his occasion low blows.
Nah...Pacquiao is the "cleanest" boxer there is today who prays for the safety of his opponents first. Those accidental head butts with JMM were due to a lefty fighting a conventional fighter which happen more often than not when two fighters like these collide with each other.
That's what I was saying Cotto will come in lighting fast + power... its all over kids. Pacquiao made the wrong move making cotto smaller
do you guys think that manny will just stand there and take cotto's power shots and do you seriously believe that miguel is faster than cotto? not by a long shot. i think the jmm that many fought was faster than cotto. granted that jmm landed some good shots on pacquiao in those fights but the manny of today is a lot better than the manny 18 months ago. if camp cotto is relying heavily on the jmm tapes, they will be in for a rude awakening.
people don't give credit to manny's intelligence. manny's ring smart and skills have progressed exponentially in th last 3 years. they think manny is still the one-arm bandit that he was years ago. but not anymore after his defeat at the hands of erik morales. roach has molded pac to a 2-fisted thinking warrior now with powers in both hands. this is not to mention his greatest gift of all, a blinding speed with a southpaw stance.
equating manny to slugger and non-thinking fighter was the fault fighters and their camps past the 1st erik morales fight - just ask angelo dundee and floyd sr.
My question isn't being answered here. I thought Cotto is geting fined at anything OVER 147, and would be fined on million $ for every lb he comes in fite night over the catch-weight of 145?
To make it clear..if he weighs 146= 1 million$ fine. 147= 2 million $ fine. Roach has said if Cotto comes in at 148 or over, hie might call off the fight. Which i just don't see happening. Is this not fact or just rumours?
I think that's correct. Here's what Freddie had to say about that.
Roach also warned that he’ll call the fight off if Cotto comes in beyond the regular welterweight limit of 147 lb.
“Our limit for Cotto is just 147 lb ,” Roach said. “There’s no fight if he weighs beyond that. Cotto will be assessed a $1-million penalty for every pound overweight.”
Roach plans to sic Pacquiao on Cotto in the early rounds, noting that the Puerto Rican star is prone to slow starts and has fallen early in the bout several times during his career.
“The thing is I feel that if we go after him and pressure him right away we can get him out of there,” Roach said. “If you see his tapes, he’s been hurt in the first round at least seven times he’s been down a couple of fights.”
Here's the source:

pac / roach / arum is only fooling casual boxing fans. real boxing fans know what has been going on with their attempts at weakening opponents.
cry as long as you want...roach is only looking after his fighter coz cotto normally goes up to 160-162 at fight night. not to mention that cotto's last fight against clottey he weighed at 147. you guys are pathetic complaining about 2 lb. it just shows you don't think your boy cotto can win against pacman. but hey, you can use that 2 lb as an excuse when pac decimates cotto comes nov. 14th.
a good amount of latino dudes around my way in brooklyn have their barber shape up their eyebrows for them after they get their hair cuts with a razor! i get mines shaped up from time to time to by my barber as well whenever they start to wolf up! and yes in puerto rico theres a good amount of men out there that do have their eyebrows shaped up including boxers! miguel cotto, felix trinidad, rocky martinez. the list goes on and on!
Good k for this post. Thanks.

Miguel Cotto is convinced he will beat Manny Pacquiao in Saturday's Las Vegas superfight.
Cotto is rated the underdog by the bookmakers for the pair's showdown at the MGM Grand, where Pacquiao will be seeking a seventh world title - namely Cotto's WBO welterweight crown.
However, the Puerto Rican is adamant that will not happen.
"If he thinks he is going to win seven titles in seven weight divisions now, he has picked the wrong moment, the wrong fighter and the wrong opponent," said Cotto.
"If he thinks he is going to win the seventh title against Miguel Cotto, he is very wrong."
Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, has spoken about how his man could end the fight in the very first round but, not surprisingly, Cotto has scoffed at such suggestions.
"Forget about Freddie Roach," he said when asked about the trainer's comments. "The only thing Freddie can do is train Manny. He can't go over the ropes and into the ring to fight against Miguel Cotto. He can only train Manny the best he can.
"He may say and think Manny will knock me out but at the end of the day, it is just Manny and Miguel Cotto in the ring. No matter what kind of things Freddie Roach says before the fight, I have a very strong mind. The psyche game? I'm not going to follow that game."
There have also been suggestions that the Pacquiao camp are already planning ahead for their man's next fight in March - possibly against Floyd Mayweather Jr - but Cotto says if that's the case then they are playing a dangerous game.
"What they say and what they do does not concern me," Cotto added. "They know what they have in front of him. He better be focused on what they will have in front of him in Miguel Cotto.
"Once I beat Manny Pacquiao they can continue their plans and do what they want but I am not going home without winning this fight."
Instead it could be Cotto facing Mayweather should he win on Saturday night.
Asked about the prospect of such a fight, Cotto said: "I am here for the big names and ready for the hot opponents. That's what boxing needs for the guys at the top to fight other guys at the top, like it was 20 years ago. Make the fights that fans want to watch.
"I am here for any boxer that wants to fight Miguel Cotto. They have to start with my company and I am more than ready to fight the biggest names in boxing."
Don't be so sure, Miguel. DLH and Hatton said the same thing before they fought Manny and we all know what happened after that.
It is a Puerto Rican thing.
Most Puerto Rican, and many Italian, men arcch or trim/tweeze their eyebrown. it is to attain the "pretty boy" look.
Malignaggi does it, also.
this is the classiest reply so far...this deserves some good k.
thanks for the sensible reply. they are hard to come by nowadays.
Cotto's eyebrows will play a big part during the weigh-in. In fact if cotto weighs more than 2 lbs over the stipulated 145 lbs catch weight he has no choice but pluck a pound of hair on each brows to make the weight. I might say the eyebrows will save Cotto a couple of million dollars. :D
LOL! musta peyk-peyk? dami ba dyan sa inyo? penge naman...yung maliit at mabango! ;)
mang,
pink floyd couldnt ko marquez a 36 year old career featherweight how is he gonna ko cotto?
I dont think pink floyd has ko'd any legitimate welterweights.
He aint knocking cotto out or any legitimate top rated welter for that matter.
coz he decided to do just like that and fight from the outside. floyd doesn't risk his face for nuttin' unless it's necessary. better be called a chicken than take some beating...but then again jmm wouldn't be able o hurt him in 100 years. floyd is smart.
Could possibly be the worst thread ever created in NSB.
what the **** is wrong with my thread? i was just wondering and it was a legit question - couldn't be worse than "Calzaghe is the best boxer that has ever lived!" thread for sure.
marami pre, punta ka rito at ipapakilala kita. pre bigyan mo nga ako ng berde. :p
Are you in Pilipinas? You remind me of Kadyo and Itlog. Are they still around?
Pac will be at the offical weigh in heavier than he ever was before.. That probably means his walk around weight prior to cutting weight for the weigh in is heavier than ever before.
That means when he rehydrates and eats and what not, he will be heavier than ever before too. Remember, he was 142 on weigh in and 150'ish against Oscar on their fight night..
I wouldn't be surprised if Pac was 154 or so on fight night against Cotto
Before this gets out of hand. No he wasn't 150'ish against Oscar. Pacquiao offificial weight was 142 and at 148-1/2 during fight night. Here's an article almost a year ago from Yahoo Sports...
De La Hoya closed as a 2-1 favorite. De La Hoya is minus-200 and Pacquiao is plus-170. The over-under is 9½ rounds. Pacquiao comes out with a slight weight advantage tonight. On the unofficial HBO scales, he weighed 148½ and De La Hoya was 147.
http://sports.yahoo.com/box/news?slug=ki-liveboxing120608
In the Hatton fight. Pac's official weight was 138 and was at 148 at fight night.
http://www.********boxing.com/news.php?p=19699&more=1
Now that I said that, I expect Pac to be at 142-144 at the weigh-in and 150-152 at fight night against Cotto, still a 10-12 lb difference if Cotto comes in at 162. That's still a big advantage for the Boricua fighter.
I shave my legs and balls if a hoe ask me to do it too you got a problem with that homeboy?
Some girls don't like hairy dudes so you got to do what you got to do if you want to get some of that pussy. Off course you would not know anything about that, would you?
:lew:
wow...we've got a real playah in da house over here! thanks for the tip, dude.
i didn't know that eyebrows are balls are the same...
WOW he sleeps just 4-5 hours a day when not training!! and he learnt to play the piano in 1 week pretty amazing to be frank.
Pac's really gifted.
Best piece of article I've read in a long time.
Pac KO's Cotto in Rd. 7.
he doesn't shave his eyebrows.
no chick shaves their eyebrows.
they pluck them.
but miguel aint no chick...he prolly plucks em eyebrows to look good or thick eyebrows look horrible on him - but it still weird to me.
Both of them are still around, however, they seldom post in NSB. I live in the LA area. How about you?
pre, throw me some green.
Good K thrown your way. It's good to know that Pinoy Power is still going strong here. I've noticed lately that a lot of 'em posting here in BS.
I live in Chi-town. Throw back some good k for me too.
I think Cotto will be in the 160's and Pac will be in the mid 150's come fight night.
Cotto for sure will be at 160-162 and Pac at 148-150 - a whooping 12-lb difference. This would be a big advantage for Cotto but Pac will toast him no less.
It's the speed and what you don't see coming that counts most in a fight.
All I can say is that it was a bad decision for Cotto to be changing his trainor especially that he is fighting the P4P king Pacman. To make matter worst, Cotto the boxer is running the entire show which is a big mistake because it makes everybody around him a "yes man" just to please the boss.
Pacquiao by KO7.
I woke up today and out of nowhere I started thinking of a Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight, and without too much thought, I had Mayweather winning an easy fight and even knocking Pac out. I'm now convinced that if the fight is on, my money is going on Mayweather. That is of course going to be after Cotto destroys Pacquiao, but that's beside the point. Anyway, just my early morning thoughts.
With that forum name, you gotta be kidding!
I think common sense is startin' to kick-in with the neutral fans.....each dude has a enormous amount of loyal soldiers aka fans.....so they balance each other out.....at first the neutrals was sayin' Manny......now that common sense has started to make its move in the brains of the neutrals.....we now realize Manny is too small plus Floyd's one sided scrap with JMM made peeps see that size DO matter in certain match-ups.....and this could be one of them!!!.......Cotto stoppin' Pac in 7 is what I'm stickin' by!!!
Science or physics doesn't apply to Pac. He's an exception to the rule and defies all logic. He does the unthinkable and time and time again has proven his detractors wrong and makes the so called experts look amateurs with their boxing knowledge.
Pac fans, shut the fuck up and stop whining. You have the best fighter in the world as your man, and all you can do is focus on the few detractors? Jesus, grow the hell up. EVERY top fighter will get shitted on with few exceptions... Take it as a sign of success, and just enjoy the time we have with Manny at top, because he is truly a special fighter.
Genius, I'm randomly choosing which post I want to reply to. But kidding aside, people should learn to give credit where credit is due and not belittle some people's achievement like what Pac has done to boxing. Pacfans are just depending their hero and there's no fault in that.
True. It would be a different fight than the Pac/Jmm fights. And true, Pac has developed and gotten better since those fights.
But if he had trouble with JMM.. Floyd is a monster comparatively. Too smart in there. Too calculating. Floyd has an uncanny ability to capitalize on EVERY mistake a fighter makes. JMM himself said that Floyd would "pick manny apart".. Ricky also picked Floyd to win over Manny, as did DLH.
All the opponents both Pac and PBF have fought have picked Floyd to beat Manny.
I hate to say this but they're all Golden Boy fighters...they are biased. DLH hates Manny so much!
and mayweather went up to 154 and taxed DLH and gets no credit but somehow pac gets credit for fighting DLH 2 years later @ 147.
bunch of clowns on here.
So, you thought got credit when he made DLH quit on his stool? Where have you been hiding lately? Check out the internet and google Pac vs DLH and you'll see that 98% of the write-ups about the PAC-DLH fight was Pac beting a weight-dreained and past his prime Gloden Boy. In fact, if you look at the trolls on this board, everybody that Pac beat was weight-drained and past their prime.
Gimme a break.
Like Team Cotto, Team Pacquiao has the right to choose what HBO can show on 24/7 concerning the sparring.
Amen to that, bro. Team Cotto in episode 2 only allowed photos of the sparring shown. Their air tight when it comes to their training and that's for sure.
I was surprised too after watching the Pac-Cotto 24/7 Ep2 that Team Pac allowed HBO to shoot their sparring sessions with Porter. It could be a giveaway that would not matter whether they show it to team Cotto or not, my 2 cents.
PAC and credit dont go together in boxingscene....this place has become a shithole
Is that so! Peepz here seemed to be more sensible and knew their shit when it comes to boxing...I wonder what happened. Too many pimple-laden kids have joined lately, I reckon.
Naw bro I still hear more of people saying pac beat DLH more convincingly than floyd did and ignoring the fact that he was drained. I would say pac gets a lot of credit on this forum some deserved and some I don't think is merited with his performances in the ring.
I hear bro you but I don't find it the way you do and I read a lot of boxing news on the web everyday.
