lol wow. Worst nickname ever.
He now goes by the name of "Abdul-Haqq". He's a member of Al-Muhajiroun, according to wikipedia.
lol, did you never see him fight? he could have got himself a title shot more than likely WBO but his tendency to get lazy cost him him dearly...... also he was a very bad version of RJJ........VERY BAD!
This guy would have people believe that he gave up the millions made by those whose name he has taken in order to preach about his version of Islam. The truth is his boxing talents took him no further to the D-level of fighter he turned out to be as can be seen by his obvious brain damage and corrupted interpretation of Islam. Anthony Small is no Muhammad Ali - today, tomorrow or ever.
The guy converted to Islam 6 years ago and sees himself as some kind of visionary???
He comes off as a bitter guy looking for reasons as to why he isn't a superstar....... look in the mirror.......
Honestly I'm disgusted ........... what the **** is that? yeh ortiz tried to butt him, but Mayweather to sucker punch him TWICE **** off thats a joke
MAYWEATHER DON'T THANK GOD FOR A ****ING SUCKER PUNCH IN A SPORT WHERE PEOPLE GET CRIPPLED YOU CUNT!
Floyd is talented beyond belief, one of the all time greats........ and yet he is still a man, everyone can be beat, whether it just isn't his night, a fluke punch, etc
Facing Ali was the best boxing Documentary's I've seen in a while. It really captured the heart and soul of these fighters as human beings opposed to just talking about them as boxers. The personal struggles that George Chuvalo has gone through is more than most humans can bear. I don't think any punch he took in the ring hurt more than his tragedy's. It was also good to see fighters that you don't see much any more like Ernie Shavers. And you're right it was an emotional film. To see Joe Frazier tear up when talking about Ali was surprising but relieving to see in the sense that he truly does not hate Ali. I was very touched by this documentary and it reinforced my belief that there is no other sport where fans invest their heart in the way they do with boxing.
completely!
as for what Chuvalo went through, how he is still around I'll never know, he is also pretty articulate and doesn't seem punch drunk considering the beatings he took.
its a great film!
I like the documentary Champions Forever, about the golden-era heavyweights. The best boxing book I've ever read - and I recommend it to everyone on this board who hasn't already read it, is Dark Trade by Donald McRae.
haven't seen it i'll try and download it if i can, as for the book what's it about?
ffs I feel so dumb, watson, sorry. The guy has suffered horrific injuries, there was a documentary on channel 4 I think. THe level of compensation he recieved was pathetic, he lives in a ****ing shit hole
yeah sucks man, i think they have held a few charity boxing nights for him? clearly it would seem that he hasn't been looked after well enough, i didn't see the doc though.
eubank vs benn, made me sick how poorly the british board of boxing looked after boxers. the insuarance/pension policy should be much higher for boxing who suffer injuries like benn did
just the way benn was afterwards, showed the risk fighters took in boxing
don't you mean Watson? and what documentary was that?
Sergio is great for boxing, he'll fight anybody and is involved in great fights, whilst always bringing his A game. I think him and Floyd would be an interesting tactical battle, but i can't realistically pick anybody to beat Mayweather.....
Favorite movie-Raging Bull. Just unbelievable.
Favorite Documentary-When We Were Kings. I saw this at 12 or 13, and it is still my favorite.
yeah raging bull is a classic, no hollywood rubbish a straight up warts an all account of lamota, guy was a loose cannon.
He would probably prefer they was on the juice so they could push him and make him better.
Retarded thread. Probably worst thread this week, and that is quite an accomplishment at this forum.
co-sign...... I supposed his sparing partners should have to make weight as well.....
Why people confuse flashyness with skills?? I dont understand!!
Anyways SRR was more skilled than RJJ. Roy was more athletic, but that is not a skill thats a atribute, like Maidana's toughness or Gatti's heart!
SRR>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>RJJ
this is the correct response, end of thread...
Zab is a two weight division champion, and a two time champ at 140. If he became a champion again, then yeah, his career is definitely on track. I don't know why people act like if your not a top 10 atg, your a failure sometimes.
well said!
i'm confused, how would your career not be back on track if u beat an unbeaten fighter and took his world title? even if he did lose his next fight!
having said that i don't think he will win at that weight....
I don't act like a prick to anyone unless they act like a prick to me.
true i'm the same, but the way people go on about fighters they dislike (way over the top) it would interest me - Is it just internet bullshit or is there a genuine unhealthy obsession?
a lot of people talk about respecting anyone that steps in the ring and I agree 100% but the reason I started this thread was the majority of threads show a TOTAL lack of respect.....
It doesn't even have to be meeting them - just look at how people post on a message board about a fighter, and then the way they act during an online chat the moment said fighter answers their question. They go from e-tough guy to A-1 nuthugger in a manner of keystrokes.
Not to mention that meeting a fighter almost always changes someone's perception of them. A lot of people shit on Cory Spinks, for example, but if you spend even a couple of minutes with him, you find out he's one of the most grounded cats on the face of the earth.
That said, I admit there are one or two fighters/fight personalities I go out of my way to avoid. I've never liked Oscar de la Hoya in or out of the ring, and even with his serving as a promotional front man, I'd still rather deal with Richard Schaefer. I don't even like talking to Oscar on media conference calls and rarely if ever ask him a question (mainly because I can almost always guess his answer well before asking for it).
i've seen it happen! its quite embarrassing.....
Along with his cherished record that he always blathers on about , that has more question marks on it than The Riddler’s cat suit.
I'm a big Calzaghe fan, but that was a brilliant comeback!!

never had any problems with flash sports, try it.
Just wondering. I was at work today and thought of this and laughed and had to make a thread about it. Man if i ever did that and my trainer saw me do that he would probably knock me out lmao
anyone?
Also is sex before a fight really as bad as ppl make it out to be
"Boxers don't have sex before a fight. Know why that is? They don't fancy each other"
