Sergio has not beaten a true elite level fighter so i doubt he could just jump right in a beat floyd.
True Elite? You must be dumb, What do you call P.Williams? Former P4P #3
A lot of people are going to have changed their mind due to the negativity towards Mayweather right now and Sergio's ridiculous performance.
Nah, That wouldn't changed a thing, Floyd is still better.
Floyd has no power at 154, we all saw that with the de la hoya fight. I'd have to go with martinez, more power and weird angles.
Sergio Martinez can't win this, He had a lower probability than Pacquiao on beating Floyd.
It would be good i think hes the only person around those weight classes that can fight floyd and possibly beat him or we see the best floyd come out or we see floyd beat him easy like everyone else. but out of the possible opponents i only see martinez actually beating floyd or being a good close match a challenge to floyd.
but floyd is younger with more experience and more skills and better technique. martinez isnt that big to where he would muscle floyd and hes not anything im sure floyd cant handle. good matchup i see floyd comming out with a MD SD
It would be Floyds toughest fight in years and Id favor Martinez due to FLoyds lack of recent opposition etc etc. Also I do not think Floyd could hurt Martinez..
dont over rate martinez's power.he might brutally ko williams but when you have a stupid ass fighter diving in and not moving his head nor waist shi-t he didnt even had the guard up...he should get cought with a solid shot
quite surprised 41% think martinez will beat mayweather. to be honest i dont know much about him apart from he did well against williams, and he beat pavlik. Iv said for a long time that pavlik is fcukin wank. and williams is ok, but certainly not as good as people make out. mayweather would beat every name i just mentioned in this post IMO.
At some point Floyd's size will come into play, but I'm not sure it will be against Martinez. Martinez is an in and out fighter who's gonna get counterpunched all night long.
Poll coming.
It's an interesting fight to say the least. Oscar was controlling Mayweather fairly easily until he gassed and stopped jabbing. Even after that, Oscar got the better of any and all exchanges, I think that was due to his quickness and reach. But Mayweather shined in the single shot category.
Now Martinez has great hands and good size and appears to be prime.
But let's be serious, lol it took this long to get Mayweather in with Mosley, Mayweather opted for Baldomir over Cotto and Margarito (good call on avoiding Margarito), so I doubt he'll even entertain the thought of fighting Martinez.
It would be an amazing fight, but it's not in Floyd's method of operation to take a fight like that. :wank:
Martinez has speed, is a good mover and is a southpaw. I think he would definitely cause Mayweather problems, at least early. The thing is Floyd would adjust, like he always has, and find a way to get it done offensively. Once he does that in fights it is typically all over, because his defence is just so good.
It's Martinez's footwork and Southpaw stance that would cause problems. Unlike Pac, Martinez knows how to keep his distance, so this should be an interesting fight.
Im not convince Martinz will even know hat to do with a guy like Floyd in front of him.
