He has many fighters at his weight that he can prove himself against. Still a long road for pacquioa.
I think he will rule the class until he retires when he is 30
I disaggree, pacquoas socks played no role in why pacquioa was schooled by Marquez.
no way he got schooled...3 knock downs in the first round, remember?
I know JMM faught back the rest of the way hard, but still, Pac was far from schooled
Sad to be a Mexican? Challes, we got many warriors still putting it down. Morales lost, gloves don't make a differnce. I knew he was past his best but as a Chicano i'll always back my gente and never show my true feelings to shit talkers and haters, if Morales fights again, i'll write that he is still able to compete, knowing deep inside that he is done, always got to back up your own. We got warriors that won on Thursday and today, and many more that are still on the front line, these Mexicans trancasos will never stop, you'll always find us in the mix.
word, you are a true gangster
haha. When I saw News flash!!! and Badblood
I figured two heavyweights nobody ever heard of, announced they were fighting each other.
lol, I though that he would have posted the raiders signed some over the hill has been again...lol
What I mean of course is that I will write a harsh column criticising him for not fighting Briggs. Emmanuel Steward even said straight up that Briggs is the most dangerous fight out there for him because of Briggs skill and power.
I learned a lesson from last week when a boxer confronted me at a press con about something said here. If you're in the press and talk smack about a fighter, they will find you. Luckily for me, Wladimir has a suspect chin :D
this couldn't possibly be because you both are from ney york/new jersey and is a hometown fav even though he is a hasbeen?
I don't think there's any way a younger Mercer would have made 190.
He was a Heavyweight in the Marines, and had huge legs.
I though he was in the Army?
I cant say that I don't disagree.
Hey, I've been meaning to ask you if you are a Lennox fan. If so, do you know where I can get parts of his career on dvd or whatnot? I would like from the early 90's to his retirement, full fights. Do you know of any place on or off line?
Get into the VIP lounge and I have a thread in there called badblood's Free Fights, I can put what you want in there or sir jose's fight thread could set you up.
well, I've got to talk to you about being voted in the VIP lounge, so how about it?
In that fight hopkins showed how "great" of a champion he was by illegally hitting echols, and triping him. That fight reminds me why Hopkins was never a PPV champion.
Typical Tito fan...lol j/k :D
Bozo_no_no...you really need some mental help. You always have to get the last word in and 95% of your posts on this site are retaliatory in nature and arguementative. Have you nothing better to do?
the best punch landed in Rahmans career was the one that knocked Lewis out in Africa. Lewis made Rahmans career...Lewis faced many more opponents at or above Rahmans calibur throughout his whole career. Check the two peice in my sig...the best one-two KO in recent memory!
Hopkins and winky could have fought each other if they wanted. But didnt.I have to give the credit to the guy that did make those fights happen against them.
I didnt say that.I dont think hes a clear front runner.I do think hes the future, well maybe that kinda obvious with everybody else being older.
Basically I cant knock Taylor for his performances against either of those 2.Because he stepped up to the plate and gave it his all.Its not the performances anybody would have wished for but, really dont Winky and Hopkins deserve as much of that criticism?
I can agree with you on those bold areas...good points. I was just asking a question about Taylor being the front-runner part, not accusing you of saying that. We are cool :D
I watched the Taylor-Wright fight tonight (3 unintentional rhymes in a row...) and was really disappointed in the decision. I come on here and see a lot of guys having a completely opposite view of the fight. Very puzzling to me. I have the fight recorded in hdtv and still can't see what others are seeing. I finally figured it all out.
First, Winky's 12th round coast. While watching the 12th round I, along with others, was confused by Winky's coasting. It only briefly crossed my mind that he was doing this because he though he won the fight already. Seemed so improbably that the though quickly left my mind. Now looking back, hearing him answer Merchant after the fight (after merchant asked repeatedly why he gave away the 12th round) that he thought he had it won, I know why he did it. He knew he was losing the fight at the time. Furthermore, he knew he would lose the fight even if he won the 12th and he knew there was no possibility he could knock out Taylor. So he played the unfair card and coasted to pretend to his fans that he thought he was so far ahead on the scorecards at that point that it didn't matter. He could then later claim that the scores were unfair. Merchant even asked him in the post fight interview why he already threw out his arms in disgust before the 3rd scorecard was read. He stumbled and responded that he knew it would be a draw. But he really didn't know that, how could he? It could've been a split decision for him. As ridiculous, to me, as any kind of decision win for him sounds, 1 judge had just given him the fight. Now I'm not saying that Winky consciously came up with this scheme. This is the psychology of fighters. He instinctively did this seeing no way to win the fight. At least he could hope to keep his fans. The funny thing is, with the scoring as nonsensical as it was, Winky would've won a majority decision had he simply participated in the 12th round.
So why are there people giving Winky the fight on this board? Even on my own board, 1 person called this a robbery against Winky. A combination of bias towards Winky to begin with and the big swollen left eye Taylor developed early in the fight and had completely shut by the end is the reason. I hadn't realized so many boxing fans were picking Winky to win. To be honest, I've only seen Winky fight once a long time ago, can't even remember his opponent's name. So I wasn't a member of his bandwagon. A lot of boxing experts also picked Winky to win. The big puffy eye must've made people feel that Taylor was getting beat up and Winky's punches were causing damage. To be honest, I didn't see the headbutt that caused this. But it was clearly a headbutt. Winky's jabs were not causing that and Taylor was, unintentionally, getting hit many times in that area with headbutts.
Although many rounds were close, this was a clearcut victory for Taylor as 7 rounds were not close.
I don't understand how anyone can see Taylor clearly won that fight. How does a guy who lands more total punches and a higher 'hit' percentage in Winky not walk away with the win in a decision? I think if this fight says anything, it's that Taylor can't 'clearly' win the big ones. The last three of his fights now have been controversial. If you think that is the makings of champion, you are clearly delusional.
To get his 3 carries a game? Ronnie Brown is no longer a rookie, he will get the ball. Ricky is a heartless, quitting ass waste of talent. Miami needs to give his ass the boot
you are right. I love Ronnie, but we need to use Ricky any way possible...even if to sign him to a contract and then use him as trade bait
