I agree the fight should have been stopped after the first knockdown. Even after the bell rang to end the round Margarito looked very shaky and was blinking his eyes a lot. I'm a Cotto fan but I don't hate on any fighters and as exciting of a finish as it was I still didn't like seeing Margarito take all that unnecessary punishment at the end.
If he won all the fights on his resume he would definitely be an all time great but to call him the greatest would depend on how he won the fights. Guys like Ray Robinson came back from unbelievable circumstances to show intangible qualities that are not seen in just any fight.
Larry's the shit! I got a chance to meet him at JFK airport after the Cotto-Mosley fight and we talked about possible Cotto-Mayweather, Cotto-De La Hoya fights. Super cool guy and apparently gangsta too lol great clip!
My girl and I got HBO Canada a while back. The only thing that pisses me off about it is that they don't show the 24/7 shows or specials like the Thrilla in Manila doc.
I've ordered Cotto tickets 3 times from ticket master with no problems. Twice I got them in the mail about two weeks before the fight and for the Mosley fight I had to pick them up at the MSG box office. The Cotto-Mosley fight I paid $350 for my ticket and we were seated on the first row, first level on a slight angle from the ring. All and all I was really happy with the seats, I could see everything the was happening in the ring. I did check what kind of seats I could get for $500 and all there was was floor seats at the very back. I'd rather spend less, be elevated from the ring with no obstructions.
I agree, I'd rather be slightly elevated on the first level than be in the rear of the floor. $350 doesn't sound bad and I'm guessing the pricing might be about the same. Do you remember where you sat according to the chart below?

For the Mosley fight I was around section 104. Im not at home right now but when I get a chance I'll find the tickets and let you know the prices I paid for what sections and fights.
I like the line from the movie Only In America when Don King is getting Foreman to sign a contract while in the washroom. As Don King passes the pen, Foreman asks "aren't you gonna wash your hands?" and Don King replies, "I wash my hands before I touch my dick."
I use to train with a female fighter, Jessica Rakoczy. She eventually moved to Las Vegas to train and became a world champ. The first World Champion boxer from my hometown. I know she hold 2 wins over Mia St John. I've seen her fight a few times on Fox sports but other than that I dont follow womens boxing. I must say though, Ann Wolfe is bad ass!

By the corner on the apron, already waving the towel the fight is already over, Cotto nodded, he did not want to fight but that not to say he wouldnt have if the corner didnt jump in.
Actually he did, I just saw the entire fight over again and if you look at the last moments of the fight, Cotto clinches Marg on one side of the ring, the ref breaks them apart and then Marg without even throwing one punch, Cotto takes a knee.
Then he looks at his corner who is waiving the towel TO Cotto as if to say, "Should I throw it in" and Cotto nods his head slightly as if to say "I have had enough."
Look at it closely and you will see, the corner never physically threw the towel in they just waived it at Cotto to see if it was ok to throw it in and Cotto nodded in approval.
Actually once the corner steps on the apron they were throwing in the towel, if not it would have been a DQ. Cotto looked over to them, saw them doing it and had a look like yeah, the fights over. When he did that, the fight was already over. He was looking at the ref while he was counting ready to go back and then looks over to them.
And also, the last knee he took, his right foot slipped and he had nothing left to keep his balance.
Ya watching it again no he didnt slip. I wasnt saying he lost his balance I was saying he had no energy to keep it. I'm taking nothing away from Margaritos win, it was an amazing preformance, I just didnt see Cotto quit, the fight was already over and he knew it, but that not to say he wouldnt have fought on if the corner didnt jump in.
I was a big Bazooka fan but I think Marg would take this fight. Too big and too relentless, Ike's main wepon was his jab and thats just not enough to beat Margarito.
I'm a huge Cotto fan and there is nothing you can take away from Margarito's victory. If Cotto doesnt have any excuses how can anyone else. The only thing that kind of bothers me is how the Marg fans are now saying Cotto quit.
I dont really understand how you can take anything from either fighter, they both put it all on the line and we and fans should be grateful to both fighters. The fans should see the class that both these fighters had through out the whole promotion and after and try to do the same. How can you hate on two warriors willing to fight anyone and put it all on the line.
im wit u bro ive had enough of this clown and he truly is ALL TALK,and his over defensive style has gotten boring anyways,WONT BE BUYING ANYMORE OF HIS FIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Same here, unless he's fighting Pacquiao or Mosley.
even though it should be free on hbo canada it has been blacked out and put on PPV. if that's not bad enough you can only buy it on bell...the ppv consists of one fight! ...for $60!...and it's only available in french!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh canada
Shaw cable has it on pay per view in HD only. They are showing the whole damn show starting at 7pm. Unfortunately for me I don't have HD cable, guess I'll just download it tomorrow.
I'm from Hamilton and the boxing scene is horrendous here. Im hard pressed to even find a bar playing Mayweather Mosley here outside of Toronto. Your lucky if a "boxing fan" here knows 4 names outside of Pacquiao/ Mayweather. Unfortunately Ontario seems to be way more consumed with MMA. Prepare to see affliction T-shirt after affliction T-shirt if you wander around here.
Im from Hamilton also. I use to train with Jessica Rakoczy (31-3 12ko's) down at Regency Boxing. She moved out to Vegas and began training with Jeff Mayweather, she is a 2 time WBC female lightweight champion. She also beat Mia st. John twice, knocking her out in the 2nd round of their second fight.

I'm a fan. I had the chance to meet him in JFK airport the day after Cotto vs Mosley. We talked boxing for about 5minutes and about the chances of a Cotto Mayweather showdown.
I wont be shocked if Coture tries to stand and fight with Toney at the beginning to see how Toney deals with someone holding the back of his head and punching (dirty boxing). Once Toney catches him then he will try and take it to the ground. Either way i'm 100% behind Toney and would love to see him knock Coture out in a boxing match.
