I called it before: all these guys are going to struggle to make weight...Morales struggled last time and he is struggling again.
The only "cheating bastards" are the guys like Pac and Diego who refuse to move up in weight to fight "healthy" fighters...they know Morales and Castillo can't make weight... if they (the fighters like Morales and Castillo) do make the weight, they have to kill themselves to make such a weight...Pac and Diego want the advantage of fighting flat/drained fighters, but it back-fired on Diego, I don't think it will with Pac.
Morales should just pull out, since even if he does make the weight, he probably will not be strong...Of course he is strong at 140+, because that is what his body feels healthy at.
The blame is on Castillo and Morales as well: if they know they can't make the weight they shouldn't try.
Take Kostya Tszyu, the guy outgrew the weight division long ago, but he refused to move up, so what happnes? he starts to get injured as he gets older...part of it is a decline in the body's edocrine system/hormone levels, but combine that with forcing your body to make a weight that it doesn't want to do, it starts to reject your behavior of refusal.
No, the only cheating here(if you can call it cheating) is guys who purposely go down one or two divisions below their normal weight so that they can have a height and reach advantage which is unfare to smaller fighters. Maybe Erik should move up in weight but then he'd be subjected to guys like Zahir Raheem.
Toney should thank his lucky stars that he's getting another title shot after being banned from the WBA for two years. I'd like to see Toney win this time without any of the controversy that surrounded the aftermath of the Ruiz fight. If he wins I believe it'll be by decision though.
Hey, just think, now we might have a real heavyweight champion. Who cares if he sucks compared to other unified champs of the past, at least we would have one instead of this retarded alphabet soup four champion division where stuck with. Personally, I'm glad that the WBC stripped Vitali of his belt, he bowed out of four fights against Rahman claiming injuries each time. I don't know if he's lying or not but you can't have a champion that doesn't fight. The only thing that sucks about this is now King controls all the belts.
Bernard should retire now while his career is on a high note, though I'd love to see him fight Calzaghge as I think he stands a good chance to win. But why test the fates, to many fighters hang around too late to cash in their chips.
well if he was finding his compusre he sure would've won the rounds 2-6, which he didn't. i originally picked VK KO 7, IMO woudl've happen had the fight went on
hers the thing, VK fought b4 lewis did despite the injury. also, lewis retired then.... need i say more.?
I had Lewis winning rounds four and six, so do a lot of other people. What I meant by composure was that in round two Lewis for the most part was on queer street and just trying to survive, however, this was the closest Vitaly got to ending the fight IMO. Their is definitly a posibility that Vitaly could have landed a knock out punch in the seventh but I find it unlikely since he had an even better opportunity to do so in the second and couldn't capitalize on it.
every1's always saying how good lewis is in rematches. if hes so good in rematches, then why does the have to worry about a rematch with vitali?
Probably becouse he won this one. Besides, Vitaly had his chance to win the fight in the second round but couldn't seem to close the deal. It would have been a great upset but it wasn't to be. There shouldn't be a rematch anyway, Lewis has done just about everything, he should rest on his laurels.
IMO, I think Bhops is not overrated. Maybe the reason some people rag on him is becouse his style isn't very exciting to watch or that the middleweight division is percieved as being weak so his defenses are meaningless. There is nothing overrated about a 40yr. old man who comes to every fight in tip-top shape and is able to school all the young guns on just skill alone.
In this instance, Judah might have been better served sitting on his ass for a couple seconds to shake any cobwebs loose before jumping up like that. I'm not saying the stoppage was right but Judah looked bad getting up. :dead1:
I have a question, who does Ring Magazine say won the fight?
One thing people have to consider is that by round six Vitaly had three severe cuts around his left eye. Imagine what those cuts would have looked like later on in the fight had it not been stopped. There is no way any ref or ringside doctor would have let the match continue into round twelve. The only way Klitcko could have won would have been to knock out Lewis, which in my opinion, would have been doubtfull given the fact that Lennox was starting to find his composer after round two.
