Questionable? lol come on ppl with a freaking brains know lewis beat holyfield twice clearly. Lmao @ questionable. And by the way holyfield was the man in the heavyweights before lewis beat him so stop with the aging excuse thing. Lewis beat back then a very good fighters in vitali, mercer, a prime briggs, prime back then better tua, razor, rahman, prime mccall, stop golata in the first round ( same golata that was beating up bowe in those 2 fights). And lewis is not a boring fighter, his fights with briggs, vitali, razor and so on.
Alot of people thought the Holyfield rematch result was questionable. Thats boxing.
Prime McCall! lol. McCall stopped fighting, it was hardly a career defining victory. Plus he was KO'd my McCall. But thats another story.
I dont think he was overrated. He beat everyone.
IMO he stood a chance at beating anyone, but the greatest heavies would have whooped his ass.
Not overrated. A great champion. Best in his era.
But he was never a real fighter. He lacked the fighters attitude.
Although I never personally liked Lennox Lewis as a boxer, he still was a very good fighter, and a decent champion. I just always envision Lennox sitting down to tea and crumpets rather than really kicking someone's ass.
The real problem with Lennox is that he never really had any defining fights. He beat an aging Evander Holyfield, and the 2nd fight was very questionable as to who actually won it.
The Mike Tyson fight was a quick buck for Lennox. Mike was there to get some dough and get out.
Lennox's style was a little boring.
I actually think he was a little over rated. You can't totally fault Lennox for it, but the division was headed for the toilet after Holyfield got old.
my vote? Not an all-time great, but a solid champion.

he has wins over; tua, holyfield, tyson, ruddock, rahman, briggs, klitschko and golota. Anyone who believes he is over-rated is a hateful yank or an ignorant fool. Tyson and Holyfield's resumes could not put a scratch on lennox's.
Very well said, hell lewis took out golata in the first round the same golata that was beating up bowe lol.
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAH!!!!!!!!!
Lewis is the most fuckin overrated fighter of all time!
Almost as overrated as Trinidad!
anyone that voted no is a turd...and lewis nutsackrider
like sanjayint who sucks his cock every night
I guess you got a brain of a 12 year old if you think lewis is overrated. Lewis beat holyfield when holyfield was the man and lewis beat the man to become the undisputed heavyweight champion. Lewis beat very good figters like mercer, a prime briggs, dominated tua easy, beat tyson bad when tyson was the number 1 contender. Also lewis stop razor bad like there's no tommorow. Whyelse you think bowe throw the wbc title for not fighting lewis huh?. Bowe is afraid cause he knows that lewis would embarass him bad.
Simple poll. Click Yes, or No.
Before I click "yes" or "no"....how do you mean overated....as compared to whom.
He's overated by some and underrated by others.

Lewis missed his career defining fight because Riddick Bowe pussed out like a big bitch. Lewis would have killed him anyway.
man,,,,I so wanted to see that fight. bowe did improve tons since his amateur days so Im not sure lewis would have walked through him easily. but bowe did wimp out. so unfortunately we'll never know just how that fight would have went down
LOL I can't believe 40 people voted yes. Lewis was a top 6-7 heavyweight of all time.
only thing that really hurts him is that his 2 biggest wins over holyfield and tyson were past there primes. no fault of his own tho. he never ducked anyone. I'd probably put him in the top 10 still,,,but more like 8-10. he was a great fighter when he was focused

That can be a stretch but to deny his greatness is the true problem. People can't come up with viable reasons as to why he's not other than his supposed bad chin and not fighting Tyson sooner. Man, two huge strikes... hah, not really. Go Lewis.
Never saw this thread before, it's pleasant to see that the majority are voting "no".
Big Len could be a little too scientific and not visceral enough from a spectator standpoint, but he was pretty much the best he could be in his era and is still underrated IMO. I'd have to have him top 10 all-time, don't see any other way round it. Of course, it's all nonsense because with his size you could make an argument of Lewis being able to beat any of the greats that came before him.
I am in total agreement with you. LL lacks a truly career defining victory against an elite opponent but I still rank him near the top in terms of all-time greats. Especially if the criteria is who would beat who. LL was just so tall and he had fast hands, he would be a difficult fight for anybody. May not have been the most crowd pleasing style but he got it done.
Lewis was a great champion end of argument.
If you have any boxing knowledge then that is obvious, its all been said on here prior to this but to dominate the Heavyweight Division as he did and to only lose twice (both avenged) is an incredible feat.
The only argument offered is that he fought the best out of their prime, check his age against theres, theres hardly any age difference between Tyson, Holyfield and Lewis, the better man won simple.
Why can't people just live with it????
good post :)

I know, its just that these haters get on my nerves but you're right.
The fight was 6 rounds in, and half the rounds could've gone either way. Who was winning the fight? Get the fuck outta' here. Who won the fight? Answer: Lewis.
